RE parts are not an uber luxury, (infact i simply BOUGHT said engine off a vendor) and you can't base chassis balance off of this percieved social class BS of the "haves vs the haves nots"
The bottom line is the Xwing is capable of ALOT. Regardless if you as an individual can find the right combination of parts, the playerbase as a whole, CAN.
Ohhh sounds like someones getting alittle hot under the collar. Well good you bought the engine off a vendor good for you, guess you got a deal. Now may I ask how much you dished out for the uber engine? You act like finding great parts is some easy task when in fact you can sift through tons of vendors and not find a good cheap part. I've got a Mark 2 Droid Interface at 16.4 speed but cost me 75k. Its a great part and actually I bought another for my A-wing but no one else on the entire Chilastra server can make anything close to it. Point being some parts can be super rare and only available throu 1 vendor, but some can be widely available. Keep in mind not everyone is a mega millionair and can't afford grade AAAAAAAAA+ parts.
I still think my points system is a great idea so ppl can customize their ship more to their likeing.

No im not hot under the collar. I just think its ridiculous that you want (or support) the X wing having more mass simply because you as an indvidual can't find good parts. The Game does not revolve around personal WANTS.
But since some of you WANT more mass (and not really needing more mass), hows this. Increase the Xwings mass to 150K, and give it the handeling characteristics of a Y wing Longprobe. Wow, instant gunship, happy now?
Point is, as i said earlier, the X wing enjoys the best mass to Manuverablity rating in the game. People should be grateful for that instead of bitching about it.

The X-Wing doesn't need any help at all. I fly one almost exclusively. I bring out my firespray with dual protons for Corvette and Star Destroyer runs, but that's it. With reactor/engine overload 3, you can do a LOT with 100,000 mass.
With the A-Wing, you're harder to hit and you're a bit faster... but there's absolutely nothing to rival the thrill of unleashing hell on someone with 3 projectile weapons at once.

And I said I support a mass increase for ALL the ships hence my points idea.

Reactor overload is my best friend. It allows me to run engine overload and weapons overload. And once I find the last 2 statson a lvl 6 engine my Xwing will be moving like an Awing. muahahahaha i fly an xwing and imps are still afraid to come after me. *ponders putting a price on his head to get some pvp*

The xwing is just fine the way it is, all ships are just fine the way they are. You need to learn how to maximize your assets, and minimize you weaknesses.

How easy do you want it? Mass is the only thing difficult to deal with in JTL, some ships might be borked but the X wing is not one of them

As my last post in this thread since no one is actually reading anything (obvious from replies). I'll agree with the mass decrease for parts. Not really crafted ones since theier usually really lite anyways but some looted things could use alittle lightening up. What I really wanna see the shipwright made parts actually be worth what we pay for them. I.e. capacitors. Your better off just finding a looted one. Made a second char on Chilastra and within 5min of space in a Prototype Scyk I found a lvl 2 capacitor with 37.0 recharge and 500 energy.

my thoughts on this would be to remove the mass penalty from components so you can customise your ship to whatever you want but leave the mass on the chassis and let it have more of an effect on handling than it does now, that may be a bit more of a balance than allowing ships to have larger masses just to fit large mass weapons. mass n chassis does play a small part at the moment on how a ship handles but if its reversed from the SW view it may make things better overall, So instead of shipwrights trying to increase the mass they need to try to decrease it instead. On the down side it would also mean that chassis would need a small mass increase during the crafting process (may be 10k more than current assembly masses) to be able to work on making them smaller.

Im sorry but that removes one of the more challenging and fun aspects of JTL, and would make things entirely too easy.

Ok I know I said I wouldn't reeply againn but. What do you think is so fun of going out buying parts coming back and getting the "your ship is to heavy" message? Or going into space for 2 hours and looting complete junk. I'm totally serious how is this fun to you? Btw I think SOE meant for space not seeing the overweight message.
Ok now THIS is my last reply......I hope. lol
