If we get more civillian ships, they should have a purpose, such as doing all the non combat space activities, such as mining and repairing other ships/stations. and they should be fully moddable, but not have a weapon or missle slot, perhaps it could have 1turret, but thats it. I really wanna see the starport shuttle be available as an MP ship with only 1 turret, but can do mining, transport cargo (for cargo missions?)

/agree - kind of, but not to it only being upgradable at master.
Yes i think that the vet reward should be upgraded. and the engines aren't that powerfull (they need to be upgraded). If you've read any of the Star Wars EU books, lando's "Lady Luck" is almost as good as the falcon (if not better). its got heavy armour, more weapons than the falcon.
I'm currently using mine as a house, but woud like it upgradable with at least one weapon.

I would love to use my Yacht as my ship of choose, it's such a beautiful ship, and there is so much potential, though it seems that unfortunately that potential is wasted. I would love to be able to puit some nice engines in and have it as useful as my YT-1300 was.
Maybe by making it so at Master Pilot (all get the same certifcate, like the Firespray) you get the ability to modify the ships equipment, and it should be on par with the other mp ships just that it's a different ship. Unfortunately at the moment the yacht is merely a moving small house.
I would also love to see that item storage buffed a little, as there is not enough to actually have any decorations
Please no flaming or One-starring as it just makes more sense to have it set up so we can acutually use it.
I agree 100% with what your saying! This ship is way to awsome to have it just sitting there collecting dust!
I mean come on, why make this ship not modifiable? You can practically live on this ship and the people that got one deserve a good ship. Not some trophy that sits in inventory and isnt used! Its so beautiful......

My only complaint about the yacht is that the number of items it holds is too few for the size of the interior. I wish it could hold more than 75. The best solution (theoretically, if not programatically) to me was the option of dedicating more lots to it (and any structure for that matter) to get more item space. I have mine decorated as a booze cruiser, but couldn't decorate it half as well as I wanted to because of the 75 item limit.

I am OK with making it modifiable after a sufficient period of months to allow those who are SWG newcomers to become 6-month vets and get the thing. At some point, (6-8 months after JTL launch) most people will have the opportunity to have one. Then I think it should also be made craftable.
I like the idea of designing special sensors for those gun-looking things on the bottom. Maybe it could be something that could jam enemy targeting computers better than IFF scramble or maybe something allowing you super-long range radar or the ability to /find certain kinds of enemies throughout multiple quandrants.
Also, I can't seem to get any objects to /move into the space on or above the yacht's bar (the glass shelves). They should fix this if they haven't already. (Haven't tried to do it in a while).

P.S. And paint kits for yachts. Need those too.

You may want to check forum policy, you are not supposed to bump threads. If there is no interest in the topic the thread should drop to the back pages. That isprobably why you receiced the 1-star. Has nothing to do with where you are.

I totally disagree with making the yacht a combat vessle. The ship is a FREE ship with NO requirments to pilot beyond having JTL installed. Making it into a combat vessle hurts the balance of pilot classes and makes chosing any of the factional pilot trees obselete. Why would I grind out a pilot class to get the YT or the Decimator when I can hop into my already MP ship that can now be loaded with guns and shields? It also wouldn't make sense to move the yacht into the pilot trees as a certified ship since the whole purpose of the yacht is easy cheap transportation that requires no special skill to use. Just leave the yacht alone, it works fine as it is and it serves its purpose very well already.

Has anyone else noticed what seems to be a place for a turret ladder in the "entry hall" to the nose section of the ship?
I would first love to see increased item storage, then maybe upgradeable..even if it is non-combat. Just some upgraded boosters would do.
Do a search here in JTL forum for "SWG-Goliath" with me as the poster, and you'll be directed to a link on why he put that turret access in there.

That wasn't technically a bump btw, that was me saying "Hello all again" but always the one-starrers are there...
Wasn't the turret access ladder a remnant from the days when it was going to be a modifiable? (Yes that's right it was originally able to be modified).
By the way I suggest you read all my posts... I said some where that the ability to modify should be gained at master, the ship staying as it is until you hit master, where you can modifiy it (I'd suggest having to pay ~200k to a chassis dealer so that there is more equality with the vessels (as the yacht doesn't need to be bought, so thus it needs to be turned into an uprgradable deed)).

if the yacht is customizable, why not be able to just change the reactor, boosters, and engines? that way it can still remain invicncible and not be a combat vessel.
