Thread: Jedi Starfighter question

I am currently a rebel both on ground and in space...I know in order to get the jedi starfighter I need to go imp on ground, but can't find anything about space. Does the quest not involve space at all? Am I able to go ground Imp without lossing my progress as a reb pilot? I also know that ground rebels can only elect to be rebel pilots or freelance and imp can only be imp or freelance...what about rebs that are already rebel pilots? What happens when i switch sides on the ground?

Also, while I'm askin...what level pilot do you need to be to fly the jedi starfighter and the other ship..(the one that only ground rebels can do the mission for).

Unfortunately you cant be imperial on the ground and rebel in space, you would have to drop your rebel squadron before switching to imperial.

But you can be freelance in space and switch factions as much as you like on the ground.

Better to finish your squad, so that when you regrind Alliance Pilot you have the benefit of the Mastery Bonus.

You could also pre-load a ship with master lvl gear, but I find that boring and not really necessary.

Mastery bonus? Is that a ship or are you saying that you somehow hold onto some mastery skills even after dropping you squad?

JSF is an unbalanced ship. If you want to win in PvP and don't care about anything else, then sure go get it. If you want to have fun in PvP don't bother with it. People generally see a JSF and think, "noob".

Actually, that is the Second Master bonus hehe. You do get to hold on to your skills, since, the one who is in training is you! You just don't get to hold onto your Boxes.

You are generalizing here. People don't hinkk noob - you think so. JSF is wonderfull ship, it has the best looking cockpit, very convinient weapon mounts (sucky Kimogila setup, hallo?) and nice handling. It is obvious that experienced pilot choooses the ship he feels convinient to pilot. Only a noob wonders about what others say about his choice.

I agree, I'm far from a noob, I've lost count of my PvP kills, and I have PvP in most rebel ships, apart from the B-Wing. I admit I PvP mostly in my JSF, the reaon for this is, in order to compete on an even playing field with the other ships, and have a good fight, the JSF gives me the best chance. Next I would say is the ARC, as the PYR on this also suits my flying style and then the Nova (yes I do PvP in a Nova). I'm a dog fighter, who happens to use missiles when the situation allows, so the JSF and ARC give me the best options at out turning most ships. I also PvP now and agaiun in my X-wing, but seeing as it has an arse the size of a bus, and a crappy PYR Unless you get an awsome engine (which I dont have), then you tend to end up as a rapidly expanding ball of gas. When I see a JSf in DS, I think experienced player who knows the advantages of the ship. on engaging a player in a JSF you can tell straight away if they are experienced or not, as a Noob will die pretty quickly. The JSF is a good ship, but in the hands of a bad pilot, it is still just a good ship being flown badly. In the hands of an experienced pilot, it is the quickest way back the nearest space station.

Err...you think?

And yes, a lot of people I know think noob. Not everyone, that is why I said generally. That does not mean everyone that flies one is a noob, but most people just choose one because their leet j3d3y3 ground buddies said to get one because they don't have a clue about other ships.

This means that most people flying JSFs tend to be noobs. Not because they suck, but because they actually are noobs. (And on Bloodfin in particular, we have a general understanding among the experienced pilots that no one flies a JSF to avoid th whole composite in space thing, so then the statement really applies). So I do hope he looks around and figures out what he likes best for himself, and doesn't just pick the ship that really isn't going to help him develop his skills very well.

Hmm, I fly a JSF, am in no way a noob, and have had almost no desire to be a jedi in the 2 years I've been playing SWG and the many months I've been master pilot.

I fly one because i'm collecting all the ships I can possibly get over my 2 chars and at the moment I like this the most (tho I'm starting to warm to my vaksai a bit at the moment)

If I want to fly it and "SOME" people have hang ups about it well, that's thier problem not mine.

Ok so I'm not the only person who thinks the ARC-170 handles CRAZY nice? Yeah it's no JSF suresure, but that thing can REALLY move.. especially with Engine Overload-3 running! I'm generally not a PvP'er (YET).. but I must say, I really could see the ARC-170 being nice in a dogfight. I've got a frontloaded Borstel Disruptor and a fairly nice set of rear turret guns. I think with I full crew I could mess some people up! (In my own my atleast..)

Regarding the JSF: While I won't say "I think someone's a n00b when I see them flying one"...I have to admit that every time I see one, I pretty much DO think that person pretty much picked the JSF because it IS such an unbalanced ship. That or they picked it because tons of OTHER people pick it, and they just want to stay competetive (and really.. who can blame them?).
