Hey TH, I just got 1 important question.
How will JtL melt in with the game. Can I still talk to the people who don't own JtL. Will there be seperate servers. Please answer this one question.

It will work like expansions in other MMO games. The player's who don't have JtL installed will play in the same game world with those who do, but won't have access to the new JtL content.

I like what I read In E3, yet will there be an increase in skill points so player can keep thier ground skills and still enjoy the New professions in Jump to LightSpeed. Currently there is only 250 Skill Points available and I personnely get tired of surrendering points to enjoy somthing else like a Holo Profession and In order to go do combat I have to Level back up to that skill. I think that is the prime reason peple have quit SWG. With say a 1000 skill points to work with player could develop the core characters and have skill point to do Jedi Quests and enjoy Jump to LightSpeed and enjoy playing SWG forever.
currently no space piloting skills use ground skill points. Only shipwright currently does use them. There currently is no plan to add more skill points as more skill points = less player interaction, and currently there is to little interaction as it is.
(but as they say ^_^ anything can change before launch!)

I would like to know this: Can we actually orbit a planet? Can I be hoveringover one side of the planet and someone else in the other side? or are planets just a pretty background?

special thanks to WumpusAmungus for starting an E3 information thread that tracked some of the press and other information, and Mkappus for starting his thread (http://forums.station.sony.com/swg/board/message?board.id=lightspeed&message.id=2732), which is the basis for my feedback below:
Mkappus was good enough to post the "facts" as you all knew them, based on interviews and what's been printed here and elsewhere.
Mkappus and WumpusAmungus have done a great job of collecting and communicating JtL info -- nice job, guys.

all sounds very good.the only thing that concerns me is that with the move from an RPG based system, where a ping of 100-200 is actually playable,to a realtime system, how do you plan to counter the problem that most people i know,me included, never get below about 100?with such high latency a real time game is out of the question of being enjoyable for me,such games demand a stable and low ping. Not the regular 130-600 with packet loss i see,and many of my friends experiance.
We all live in england by the way,and this is on the european servers.
If you have a slow connection.. there's nothing they can do. Get a faster connection or.. lag.
Actually DavidGX, Not trying to slam you or anyone, but please be aware not all of the UK has been set up for High speed Internet usage. Since I am from the US myself, I am not sure of the reasons, but I do know, for several of my UK friends it has taken several years to get Cable/DSL in their area, and other friends are still waiting. The US is one of the few countries that have the high speed modem in place as basic infrastructure; I think the other country is Japan, due to their commercial competition.
Changing the subject I too have a few questions regarding Jump to Lightspeed.
Shipwright: Currently I am Neutral, and am interested in going for the Shipwright profession. since I am Neutral, does this mean, I can only build the Neutral vessels? Or, will I be able to build all the ships, including Tie Fighters, and X-Wings? If I am able to make all the ships, will there be ample opportunity to mix and match? IE make the 'Uglies' that are mentioned in the books? Personally I'd like to see the Tie-Advanced/Defenders, and A-Wing/B-wing class ships as faction only, based on the fact these ships are relatively new, and designed for the Factions themselves. (it's been considered Canon, that the Tie Defenders were not produced in mass quantaties due to the fact they were released just prior to ROTJ, and have not yet been able to replace the Tie Fighters and Interceptors. The A-Wings were produced just prior to ANH, while the B-Wings were developed just prior to ESB.)
You mentioned the ships will not be destroyed, but badly damaged. who will repair the damage? Will this be regulated to the the owner? or will shipwrights be the ones with the repair skills? I forget which book I read this from, but there was a scene that the Falcon's Hyperdrive was damaged, and Han Solo, turned it over to the mechanic stating, that since the principles surrounding the hyperdrive are unknown, they would prefer turning repairs over to an expert then doing it themselves.
there have been some questions regarding the Proton Torpedoes. What I would like to see, as a way to help the Economy out as a whole, is for the Weaponsmith to design the warhead, and the DE to design the guidence package, but the Shipwright to put the torpedo together, while the armorsmith can make ship armor, that the Shipwright can place on it. This way it gets spread out. the downside to my proposal is that the upgrades might make things more expensive, but that is in itself a different problem.
Thank you Devs for letting us know what we can expect.
