ya they shouldnt have hpydrives but there was a thread a few days ago about a cap ship that a tie would fly into he could get to the othr sectors that way,and i like the idea of having ties cheap,so they r realy easy to buy and x wings and all the othr reb craft r hardr to make so r more expensive to buy, thats somthing i would be hapy with a imp player could just go out and buy a new tie or maybe as bonus to imp player have that cap ship repair thier ships

and as far as ties geting shields its a mixed issue, they should buy the ties with out the shield for real cheap but if they have shields make as expensive as x wingsa,

its not just hyperdrives im concerned about... I want Ties to have there advantages.... Cheep... menueverable.... fast... but to get those u need the disadvantages... no life support... no shields.. no hyperdrives...

Even Star Wars movies dont like NGE....

Yoda: Twisted by the Dark Side, young SWG has become. The game we played, gone it is... Consumed by the NGE.
Mace Windu(us): The customers will decide SWG's fate.
Supreme Chancellor(Devs): I *am* the customers!

So this is how liberty is crushed...... by the sound of Tiggs Paws.

I oppose the NGE and support Holocron Shug and Q-3p0's dream of the way SWG should be!

"When Sony and Lucas set out, we said, ?How can we do this and not make another EQ?? We didn?t want it to be all about Luke, or combat, or lock our players into a class. So we created a system that would allow players to switch professions during the game, and there would be a lot of gameplay around making that change. If you want to go from architect to scout we?ve created a system to make that happen."

I'm a Colonel in theImperial Army and havebeen playing since launch.

I feel like I've pretty much been loitering around the server lately, waiting for JTL to decide whether or not I stay or leave. I've put up with a heck of a lot of discontinuity in this game.

I would have to say that if the devs gimped Tie Fighters by not having them hyperdrive capable I would quit. This would be the final disappointment in a long string of disappointments.

To me, being Imperial...grinding faction to Colonel and now grinding to hit the faction limit of 60k....denying me a hyperdrive to maintain some kind of continuity in a game that has fundamentally shifted away from continuity on so many fronts...would mean that from the beginning I was working toward a fubared conclusion.

What I don't understand is why peeps want to erodethe entertainment value of thisgame even more by maintaining a standard of 'continuity' which to date has clearly not been met.

Hes right. ties are cheap little ships they were made to be used in large numbers. Devs make thosse ties cheap little things that cant travle between the sectors they arent even made for long range travel there made to stay near there deployer wether it be a star destroyer or another imp base.

well mate i understand ur point but its not only the tie advanded that has shield, tie defender has em,plus that odds that they will put even more imp ships that can do hypr,if they dont let the tie fighter, interceptr or er have hapyr drives i suggest u get both the good ones and the reg fighter, like i said before they should make ties rtealy easy spr easy to make so they r realy cheap,u can just go buy another if u get killed, probly lose more mony to repairing it then buying a new one

TIE's not having hyperdrives doesn't erode the entertainment value for me. I enjoy a good challenge. Just because you feel it erodes the entertainment value doesn't mean it actualy does. But did we really need to rez this thread?

When people say they don't want Ties with hyperdives. Which TIEs are they talking about? I don't want Tie Fighters/Interceptors/Bombers with hyperdrives. It would suck IMO.

But, the Devs have also included a bunch of weird Tie Variants. These could have hyperdrives for all I care, since the movies do not clearly state that they are not suppose to have them.

BAM! No contradiction in continuity. And everyone is happy.

ahhh... sort of.... just keep in mind it IS the empire you are fighting for.... I have an idea.... TIES should come out of Faction Points.... u shuouldnt have to pay for them.... cuz the EMPIRE is ur master.... you do what he says... u serve in the ships HE gives you.... i know i know its a prooblem for shipwrights.....its just im really really tired and not thinikin straight.... come to think of it..... im not evne sure why im writing this
