i "hope" we can walk around the insides of the larger ships. But i have a feeling it will be more like a hardpoint system.

ships can carry multiple passengers, but once on the ship, they choose a station to sit at. could be a lounge seat or a gunner's station. they cant move around, change from just picking another hardpoint from the radial menu.

but i don't see why there wouldn't be gunner stations on ships that can carry more then one gun mount on them.

I would love the Joystick support!... well actually i dont think that Joystick will not be supported, it would be a bit crappy

Next thing... will players be able to craft BIGGER ships than starfighters... like Corvettes or Frigates with landing hangars for starfighters so we would be able tohave "flying Player Associacions" or something like that?(not talking about Cruisers - these would be faction ships i suppose)

I would just love to fly Corvette od Frigate!

I don't see it being possible to walk around a ship in flight. If they were able to implement anything involving multiple people on one craft likt the YT-1300 it would have to be instanced like the Corvette mission. There would be no pilot the craft would just travel through space on it's own for X amount of time. You would be able to move around from place to place in the ship....but that's it really. I wouldn't think they could have PC ships like this interact either. There could only be NPC encounters in a system like that. Personally I still think it would be fun if they could do something like that.

Well the Devs said that Capital ships are out of the question, but it would be so cool if a guild could own a corvette!

This is supposed to be what completes the game/world. There are a lot of Star Wars games out there that create the ultimate immersive feeling of the movies. If anything, this game’s sole responsibility is to do exactly that. Should it fail, then I think I will call it quits. The purple nebula and ship trails are definitely a step in the wrong direction. And would someone explain to me why every explosion has magic pixie dust coming from it? You know, I got a lot of issues regarding the art direction in this game already. No offence, but you need new texture artists. Other than that, yes I will buy this game and do my best to realize all it has to offer.

I've very excited about the twitchy style combat. I would not play a space sim that is any other kind. Earth and Beyond lasted for 3 days on my computer.

I'm glad it's twitch based too. I just heard that the number of broadband people has grown exponentially in the last year, and that we can finally abandon those cheap-o 56kers. Now online gaming is going to get REALLY interesting.

If SWG was completely twitch based, it'd be the greatest game ever. Period.

I don't have the time (or the desire) to learn every little stat, every macro (which isn't gaming anyway), spend years building a character, etc. I've finally realized that MMOs won't bring in casual players until they become more like twitch based 'instant satisfaction' type of games. Combat should feel like combat, not dice rolling. Modifiers should come into play as far as movement speed, reload times, weapon certifications, etc. So there can still be advancement.

We were told that even newbies who were lucky could take down an advanced character. What a joke that's turned out to be.

If the space expansion is twitchy, then maybe we'll see more twitchy MMOs. SWG2 better be really twitchy, or I'm not buying. I was seriously considering cancelling my membership until I saw this announcement. Let's see...

All these people are a joke that bought this game with it saying RPG and thinking they should get a twitch based game. Again I'm not against twitch based games, but there's a time and place for it. They NEED and I'll repeat NEED to make a whole new seperate game that it twitch based online gaming for all of the people thinking they should get this type of game. Then maybe theycan finally make this RPG what it truly could be. Without all of the people not knowing what they bought, this could really be THE GREATEST RPG EVER.

The thing that Sony is doing wrong is allowing people to keep on posting about wanting this or that to be twitch based and they (Sony) are not stepping in and spelling out what thy should be. I'm not worrying about this "they said it would be twitch based since beta" that some have said because they said it MIGHT be but they were still working on it. PLUS all through that they have pointed out that it would remain RPG in style if it were to go twitch.

All the "twitchy boyz" will be surprised how much like Earth and Beyond this will be if they were to turn the whole game twitch based. It went belly up based on exactly what some of the posts have reflected. Any reason you guys didn't go support that? Have fun flying around looking for people to shoot at!"ohhh look there's someone finally! I'll shoot that person because maybe he'll spin out of control to the left this time and it be REALLY different than the last person that spun out of control to the right". Yeah the vision all theUNREAL players have will be so great.....

I guess making this something different than what people thought they were buying wouldn't be that far of a stretch though.

Awesome! Glad we finally got some info. As long as there is an actual cutscene when moving from starport to space rather than just a status screen as there is now I will be happy.

P.S. Now taking applications for Wookie sidekicks.

Could you imagine if there could be capital ships? Instead of a PA center you have a star destroyer and inside of it being like a player city and when you get attacked you ran to your ships to defend it from attack.... now that would be the best game EVER made.

Personally i think this space expansion is going to be rushed, i really hope not but i can just feel it in my bones.More than likiely, you wont be able to enter a planets atomsphere let alone land anywhere you want. (you will approach the planet and the loading screen will probbably pop up and then you will be in the starport) Personally i dont have a problem, with this, in fact i'm glad, the planets as they are now could never survive ships flying around, my god the lag would be horrid. It Will be interesting to see what kind of lag there is in space though, although there isnt as much graphically to render, ie no ground, trees, rivers, buildings etc etc, its all just black, there is going to be LOTS of spaceships flying around, especially around areas like coronet, imagine all the bumping and crashing, noobs and griefers trying to crash into you etc.

I really cant wait to know what its going to be like up there for who you can attack and who you cant, player wise, will ships get a TEF? if your in a cargo freighter and help out an xwing, will tie's be able to shoot you? these are key issues as to how good or bad this is going to end up.

There is also the factor that the ships will travel quite fast, lag is going to have some issues here.

I also dont think they will let us live in our ships and walk around them just yet, although the coolness factor for that is through the roof, its probbably a slow and difficult thing to code.

I will also be really interested to see if you can engage enemy stations and cap ships at some point. Would make good raids for PA's. The space expansion has so much potential its unreal, I do hope they live to to at least part of it, hell if they lived it up fully and gave us everything we wanted i woudlnt care if it cost twice as much to play and £200 to buy it, i would. Soe have the chance to make this into the greatest game ever made and i hope they dont fudge it
