Thread: Enemies warping, still in from Beta!!

Yay!
I read somewhere in the forum (Tech support) I think it was. Someone had a solution which I have tried. I have tried it two times and it worked both times.
* You are in space. Enemies are warping.
* Find a safe spot in space
* Press Alt-Tab to leave SWG for a short while.
*Open Internet Explorer (I started SWG-web site)
* Close Internet Explorer
* Return to SWG
* Enemiesdon't warp anymore.
I will post again if I fail sometime.
Please tell me if this works for you!
For what it's worth, I'm glad to hear that you have a work-around for yourself. As for me, that idea don't do squat. Tried it 2 or 3 times. The only trick that remotely works for me is uninstalling my video drivers, rebooting, and reinstalling my video drivers without rebooting (they do load up and go active, so go figure). Sadly, even with this trick, I still get the rubber-band (speed resetting) issue, but hits on NPC ships will almost always register damage for me. It's not perfect, like it was before 11.2 for me, but it's playable. I really don't feel like I should have to trick the game to stay in sync. It's a bug, most likely on the client side, as too many people never seem to experience it. They're using some sort of software timing loop, perhaps changed/busted with the update to the new collision detection. But it is funny to fly, slowly, at a space station, and find yourself bouncing all over the place, in seemingly all sorts of directions, when you get real close to hitting it. Especially when the station is a rock solid target, never moving, and stays in one place the whole time you approach it. So, why does it act up when you're right on top of it?
Also, as I found out last night, people experiencing this bug doeffect ships around them. I grouped up with a freelance buddy of mine to help him on a mission (his idea). While I was within a certain range, he found that he was lagged in some way.After I left (when you can see yourself hit things but never cause damage, what good can you do?), things went back to normal for him. So, this problem effects everyone. Makes sense, in a way, since while I was close enough to him to be rendered, both he and the server were processing data sent to/from me. Question is, where is the excess/erroneous data coming from?
- Warping is related to the position of the reticle, which implicates a software glitch (aka, BUG)
- Ships that warp at 5k in the distance or more will not warp up close
- Ships that do not warp at 5k distance will warp up close!
Fix this or my accounts are cancelled when they come up for renwal in Feb. I could really care less about SOE and I've ceased to be greatful for your 'efforts'. We pay you more than enough to fix these issues and you just don't bother. Thanks.

One thing I would like to add, even though I know full well this thread is no longer being read by anyone at SOE because they could care less what problems we have, is the follow.
Durring times of 'warping', often the enemy will remain reasonably steady until they come within 10-20 degrees of the reticle. This has always, always, always been consistant. If I'm looking at an enemy out the side window and he's not bouncing all over, as soon as I turn and move my reticle near him he warps.
Secondly, even in times when the issue is not occuing, when ships over 1000-10000m away are rendered they warp all over. Once I get up close they stop warping. However, I have noticed that the reverse is true when ships warp all over up close.
Conclusions:
- Warping is related to the position of the reticle, which implicates a software glitch (aka, BUG)
- Ships that warp at 5k in the distance or more will not warp up close
- Ships that do not warp at 5k distance will warp up close!

Right on...I agree 100%, but I will not be cancelling my accounts due to this issue, there's plenty to do on the ground, as I've been doing for over a year, now, however, it makes me mad that I paid the money for the preorder, yet, I can't ever play the game...I just recently was able to get up to a whopping 2211 Basic Pilot...anyways, please fix the issue permanently...it's getting quite annoying...ttyl..

im 25k from getting 4444 and what do i get
this BUG
i like to call it npc's with the force lol
well its a bump anyways
I am on a campus network, so I really can't tell if that may be part of the problem or not. I did go home for thanksgiving and brought home my PC. The problem was still apparent, but MUCH MUCH less game-breaking. I seemed to warp much more then jumping all over the place. My home connection is cable 128k connection. Not sure why i would do better at home than on campus, but I thought I would bring that up.
/bump too

FromBeta all the way to release and through all my missions and two weeksafter I made Ace...I have never seen warping once.............until they released 11.4 thats when it started for me.
me = errrrked
Oh, don't worry. Someone on here will tell you that you either 1) don't know what you're doing, 2) changed something else that broke the game, or 3) that it's got to be your internet connection. Nobody that hasn't seen the issue actually beliees us when we tell them it's a GAME BUG.
This is a CLIENT to SERVER issue.
