POLL: Does everyone with the "drunken bee" problem use Logitech joysticks?
I am using a Logitech Force 3D and the problem comes and goes (without switching off/on computer and no configuration changes between the times).

No joystick plugged in on my system. However, I do have the drivers/software installed for the Saitek X45. I have found that if SWG/JtL has grown allergic, on my system, to the nView service (nvsvc32.exe). If I uninstall the nVidia display driver, reboot, then reinstall the display driver without a reboot (XP SP2 doesn't ask me to reboot, for whatever reason, but does seem to use the nVidia driver), I find that the "drunken bee" issue has all but been eliminated. My guess is that the SWG/JtL engine is using some sort of software timing loop that doesn't calibrate very well. Either that, or they use a system timer that they assume is set to a specific frequency, but obviously isn't. Or, they are trying to use some sort of "scratchpad" RAM area, rather than a secure location within it's own program space, which is in conflict with another app/service on all of us.
All I know is, it's not nVidia/ATI/AMD/Intel/OS specific, nor is it connection based, as everyone who's reported the problem hasn't listed 1 common piece of hardware/software/connection that I've seen. Now, it's possible that we're all overlooking one thing in common. I have a Logitech mouse and keyboard. Softwareis only loaded for the mouse, and hasn't been updated in a long time. Could that be it? Anyone else? The problem I have is that until the 11.2 publish, I only saw this once or twice, and a simple reboot fixed it. Now, however, even with the video driver trick, it's still there, but extremely minor (as in, without the trick, I have trouble blasting a tier 1 freighter before it goes to hyperspace, but with the trick, I can take out 6 tier 3 freighters with only 2 or 3 shots not registering damage). I hope that this 11.3 publish,by requiringDirectX 9.0c, addresses this problem. But, I somehow doubt it, asit's nota rendering problem. We shall see.

It has nothing to do with Logitech anything. I have absolutely no Logitech software or devices on my system. I use the Saitek X-45 setup. No, this problem is something to do with a synchronization problem between the server and the game client. It's something they're going to have to fix. As the guy above me pointed out, if you read the entire history of this thread, there has been absolutely no single commonality between all people experiencing these problems. The problem is the cause both of the ship warping/drunken bees issues as well as the random periods of 'invulnerability' of ships people are also experiencing, and in every case, as soon as you finally hit the 'rubberband snap-back', everything is fine until the problem resurfaces. And that 'rubberband snap-back' problem has been a part of the game from first night I launched into space early on in JTL beta (one of the Fan Fest folks here). Whatever the acutal problem is, it's on their end.

well this sucks...I was running just fine in space before I went out of town this weekend...didn't get a chance to test it when I got back yesterday, but today the issues are back...rubberbanding/invulnerable NPCs...quite annoying how this problem will not permanently go away...also, I went out and bought ajoystick and have this problem with both the joystick or mouse use...even after completely uninstalling the joystick...so, I can definitely say that it's not a hardware issue on our end, and that I will reiterate what I and many others have said...this issue is either server side or a client programming issue...either way, it's an SWG problem that's causing tons of grief...

Happened to me today, again.
No ammount of logging out, hyperspacing, going up and down from space can fix this error. It happened with all my ships (Z-95, Y-Wing, Starter).
Effectively, I CAN NOT PLAY!

This looks like an intermittant issue, which means its possible to log out try something and Hey Presto its fixed. Or at least thats what it looks like when in reality all thats happened is time has passed, the issue has resolved itself for the time being and this gets mis-interpreted as a fix by the last thing you tweaked. All these claims of tweaks that fix the issue are mostly bogus, here's a recap for those who haven't read this huge thread. All of these have been disproved somewhere in this thread:
XP Service Pack 2 Issue Boot.ini fix.... Uh uh!
USB Joystick Removal Fix.... Not this either!
Only Asus Boards with N-Force Chips.... Nope!
Lowering Graphics Settings in Options on Console ...... Nada!
Running Scan from Login Console ...... Oh please!
AMD Processor Only Problem ....... Sorry try again!
512Mb vs 1Gb memory ...... Not this one!
Turning off V-sync ...... Another non-fix!
Messenger/Email running in background...... Nah!
Personally I had this fault last night, day before was okay, no changes to my system. Don't assume a change has fixed the problem until you've spent considerable time after the tweak. I've played this game for a day in between freaky bee episodes, so be patient and make absolutely sure the issue is gone before you post a solution in here! This is driving a lot of people nuts (so's the lack of apparent Dev support for this!) we're all getting frayed nerves here waiting for a fix!

I have decided to use my free month in WoW until I see some resolution to this issue. It so much fun to craft all these amazing components and ships, and not be able to use any of them!

Yay!
I read somewhere in the forum (Tech support) I think it was. Someone had a solution which I have tried. I have tried it two times and it worked both times.
* You are in space. Enemies are warping.
* Find a safe spot in space
* Press Alt-Tab to leave SWG for a short while.
*Open Internet Explorer (I started SWG-web site)
* Close Internet Explorer
* Return to SWG
* Enemiesdon't warp anymore.
I will post again if I fail sometime.
Please tell me if this works for you!

I've also heard that if you put orange peel and Murphy's Oil Soap into a tin cup, set it on fire, then dunk your head in a bowl of chicken broth and recite the lyrics to Stairway to Heaven in Zulu tribespeak, that will rid you of your ship warping ills too!
Sorry, I couldn't resist,that solution justsounds about as silly on the surface.
In all seriousness,I don't see how that could possibly really do anything to help the problem?I alt-tab out of SWG often, surfing and whatnot periodically, and never noticed any difference with the warping problems/issues. Are you saying that you've played for extended periods, like an hour or two, after doing this and never experienced any warping after the fact for the rest of your playing time? And how often per playing session were you experiencingthe warping problems before? They come and go atrandom as it is.

Hahaha, yeah I know this solution sounds really silly. But still: I logged in, went up in space - all ships were like crazy bees and afterdoing the things according to the list the ships weren't warping anymore. I logged on later that day and the enemies were warping. I used the solution again, and now I was able to play. No warping.
The warping has been constant for me during all sessions. The warping comes and goes in days or weeks. I haven't experienced like 5 minutes of warping and then nothing.

Cool man....I'll give it a try as far as the 'closing the browser after opening it', but even if this is a temp fix, it's still not really addressing the root of the problem, which is what I'm hoping the devs eventually take care of. Smoke finally showed back up on the pilot forum (he's been having some RL issues unfortunately) and said that this and other issues are still on their radar, so that makes me feel a little better at least. Lets keep our fingers crossed anyway.

its YOU that warp, the lag makes you warp and thats why your engines always restart from 0 to top speed

Yep, we're aware of this. I've pointed out that fact in past posts, verified by fellow friends/guildmates and others have noted it as well, although it's nothing to do with 'lag' per se.
