As you all know, I've been suffering from this problem since Beta, but I recently trie done fix mentioned on this thread, which was to unplug the Logitech Force Feedback wireless controller. I did this, and logged in and went into space, the enemies were sitting ducks for me to frag. I logged all the way out, and back in again, with the same result. It may be prudent to attempt to unplug whatever joystick or controller you are currently using, and try to fly with just the keyboard and mouse. If this still does not fix the problem, I will continue to keep this thread on the front page, and I'd ask those who troll these forums more than they're ingame to please do the same until SOE or the Devs respond to this, or post a fix. Thank you.
It's a nice idea, and glad it worked for you. However, I have no Logitech joystick to unplug. I do have the Saitek X45, which was unplugged for testing. No change for me. I plugged it back up and installed a driver update, hoping that maybe that would change things. That seemed to make a little difference. But why would the driver for a USB joystick still cause a problem with this game when the joystick isn't plugged in? Also, why would the same joystick work perfectly for someone else, but cause problems for others? In another thread (regarding the X52), it was mentioned that it seemed silly for the devs to bypass any part of DirectX and code directly for the hardware. Well, it sure does look like they've done the silly thing, and maybe not just for joysticks. The only Logitech driver in my system is for my red optical wheelmouse. Am I supposed to remove all Logitech drivers to get this game to behave? If so, why only for this game? Why not for every other game I have? Seems to me that it's not a driver problem, but a game problem. I didn't have this problem until the 11.1 or 11.2 patch (can't remember exactly which one started it). I do know that it got much worse with the update that "fixed" some sort of collision detection. Before that time, if I had the "drunken bees" in JtL, all I had to do was exit and reload the game. That happened only 2 times in all the time it took me to get 2/2/2/2. Now, however, there's no trick that works to get me a flawless JtL experience.

Another person I'm happy for, but your fix does not apply to all. Had you been reading everything posted about this, you'd learn that not everyone in using an AMD system (Celeron and P4 systems are effected), so the nForce drivers are not a specific fix (besides, I've been on the 5.10 drivers since the day after release). Plus, not everyone with this bug is using an ATI card. I'm on a GeForce 6800 GT. Last I checked, that card doesn't use any driver from ATI. I have tried various nVidia drivers (release and beta, including the same version that a friend of mine without the bug is using).
And before you say anything about your trojan idea, that's been looked into before your post. But, just for the heck of it, I checked my system for that file. Not here. So, that fix has 3 strikes for me. Glad it fixed you, but I have to wonder how many others, if any, it will help.

Just for posterity's sake, posting again here so people don't miss this ongoing thread. Been almost three months now, still no official word of acknowledgement on this bug. Hopefully someone sees and acknowledges this soon, but we need to keep it going guys...visibility and constant flood of communication is the only thing that is going to finally get this resolved.
Agreed. I really would like to be able to, at the very least, blast tier 1 freighters within 10 minutes. I'd think a TIE Interceptor with 1500+ damage weapons would do that, but when 1% of your shots register damage, it takes forever.
