Thread: Shug's E3 Report and Rumor Control
I didnt know where to post this so..
About space ships, is there ever going to be transport ships, as in ships that can hold small fighters, where they can lanch from?
And will player Citys be allowed to build space ports.
Maybe there will be a naboo starfighter but since its an oldtimer in our current position in the sw timeline I doubt it.
As for the starfighters in episode 6, there are X-Wings, A-Wings and B-Wings. The X-Wings are the main starfighter to be seen. They arebuilt by incom corp. fomerly working for the empire but they defected to the rebellion and took the X-Wing blueprints with them
A-Wings and B-Wings are both Rebellion designs, Ackbar andsome verpin engineers developed the B-Wing where Jan Dodonna was responsible for the development of the A-Wing which is supposed to be the fastest starfighter in the galaxy ( TALKING OF THE ORIGINALUNIVERSE!!! i have a fast low latency connection.only an idiot would have a 56k modem and complain of high pings and packet loss.Normally pings to europe on servers are 30-40,with 10-20 in the UK.
So its not my connection, its the servers.
3. At the moment Shipwright does take basic skill points, and requires engineering 4.
See above regarding the skill points, but note that this is subject to change. In terms of other requirements: Each of the new pilot skills will be a starting profession. The Shipwright profession will likely be an elite profession tied to Artisan, but nothing has been set in stone yet
2) Will Entertainers be able to heal battle fatigue aboard vessels? I'm thinking, get us a YT-1300 and start a Party Space Yacht
currently unknown but as it can be decorated like a house or pa hall - the obvious answer would be that yes it could be used as such so you can use it for healing and music - though this is just a guess !!
3) Ir tracking devices and Voice chat implemented
not currently planned as far as anyone can tell. The voice chat the devs said is better left to third party apps as it lowers the load on there servers. As for IR trackers - it is a tiny market (very tiny) so it is not worth the development dollars as of yet. )this second assertion is just as guess as well - but if they had developed for it they would probably bepreening about it already. .
4) Possible to fly around the planets?
The Naboo sector looks dramatically different than the Tatooine sector - it has much "cooler" colors. While the Tatooine system is dominated by the yellow desert planet and the brown, rocky asteroids, the Naboo sector contains the blue-green planets of Naboo and Rori as well as some bluish nebula effects.
5) Naboo starfighter?
There will be 15+ ships at launch - so far the Devs have held most of thoses ships close to the chest on which are with it. (mostly because they hope to have more then 15 and they don't want to dissappoint if they don't have them already) Naboo starfighter is a very large likely hood but you'll currently have to wait for a friday feature or the beta test (with the NDA lifted) before you will find out more. Currently all they are willing to say is that all rebel and imperial fighters seen in the movies + the yt-1400 are in game.
6) Transport ships for fighters?
no idea ^_^ Great thought though!

Consider making the YT-1300 a Rebel craft.... the Rebels basically have no cool "this is our toy" stuff and I'd like for this to be a perk for Rebels (as opposed to IOWNZU the Imperial officer driving one around).
Well Zara we wont have to worry cuz the YT will be available to EVERYONE since they're making it available to all 3 trees.
Devs commented on that in a post somewhere as wel as in a video I believe. if i recall correctly

Hey Devs! I like all the ideas that are coming with the expansion.... but I have a question that probably most of us have.
The shipwright profession is going to act like any other profession that we have and will take skill points. Will you be increasing the number of skills points for everyone... like enough to master one more profession because right now I'm tryin' to become a merchant but in order for me to do so, i'll have to give my creature handling skills, all but one of my hunting skills in scout, and maybe one or more skill boxes.

I'm a master tailor so I needed merchant but I also need hide..... did not want to rely on anyone else. I plan on being a shipwright because it'll be so fun but I do not want to give up anything else (marksman and scout stuff I need as well as my artisan boxes).
Thank you for responding!

No. No more skill points. We already have griefers and problems with the economy. You wany yo expand that into a Master Smuggler + Master Weaponsmith + Master Armorsmith and concentrate the wealth even more? Or maybe you'd rather see TKA + Combat Medic + Rifleman for the truly unbeatable griefer?
The fact that you have to make hard choices how to fill out your character is one of the good things about this game. In theory, we get to play unique characters. In practice everyone who wants to PvP has to become a cookie cutter template. Fixing that problem won't require more skill points.
Will they have the naboo starfighter? Thats my favourite ship. It's from episode 1. The yellow and silver one.
Also, just to make sure in episode 6 the ship the rebels fly in are x-wings. Whats really making me scratch my head is what the species is.
Thanks
Not having the time to read more than the Dev answers I have one thing to ask which hopefully hasn't been asked to many times already. If the piloting classes are to be exclusive what happens if someone does the obvious of dropping a faction, switching a faction or actually choosing a faction for the first time after already maxing out in any of the 3 pilot classes? Do they lose what they have worked on gaining and have to start over or do they keep the previous pilot skills and are now able to learn a new tree? From some of the questions I have seen perhaps this is the way to learn more than one tree, but from the answers given by the Devs thus far it seems to me they would have to start over.
Just something I was curious about.
