Yes Imperials have been screwed with the AT-ST's. I think I have posted against the changes. I agree that we have been screwed. I never thought about even getting an AT-ST to see how bad it really is because everyone says they are worthless

Let's just do what the Rebs to best, complain and moan, and moan.
I would be more than willing to contribute to other posts about this stuff. I think some of this stuff is unfair. I just happened to run across the TIE forum when I felt like posting.





Yes.. but we aren't the majority. Add to that the fact that devs favor rebels... our complaining will never carry the weight that rebel complaining has, and does.

First of all, I'm not whining, I believe there are other ways to solve the Tie models (many of them)inability to travel thru hyperspace problem.

Will they listen to it and say, hey, that's some pretty good ideas? No, it's much easier to just make it go thru Hyperspace. Less work that way.

So, even though it won't be changed, is it so bad that we are discussing other ways of dealing with this problem, which will provide more ofa Star Wars feel to it then the current solution?


Secondly, I find your logic rather strange. You're of the opinion that until they fix all the other "issues" they can continue to provide more issues to be solved later on? How about doing something right the first time, despite the other times they tried to do something else right, went wrong.


Thirdly, who was it that said that the enemy can hyper out and away from you but we arn't able to follow them? Well, if they are bugging out, wouldn't that mean that we won the battle? Another sector succesfully controlled by the Empire.

Sounds good at first.. but wait until an xwing jumps to hyperspace and escapes for the 50 or 60th time leaving you unable to follow. You'll be pretty pissed off I'll bet you.

I don't know what a "flz" is but... you're saying I should either a: Stop using the fighter of my faction or b: use it and never get a single kill ever? Sounds pretty crappy to me.

Hyperspace jumps during combat would be lame. You can't follow some one in to hyperspace because you don't know where they are going. Hyperspace is for travelling between planets and space zones, it should not be a combat Tactic.


Sure it may be cool to try and run a blockade while nervously waiting for your Navacomputer while taking fire so you can make your jump, but if you are engaging in PvP or even PvE that would be really lame if fools always jump right before can balst them. You should not be able to jump to avoid danger or runaway, that is just lame.


The mechanics of making jumps to lightspeed are not known, but the possibilites for griefing/exploitingwith anytime hyperspace jumps is insanity. Maybe certain situational story/content driven events would have some type of blockade running adventure where you have have hyperspace jump to escape would be OK.


I am not sure even if you had a 5 to 10 minute timer where you could not fire your wepons before you could make a hyperspace jump to avoid a dogfight would acceptable. How do you stop some one from always having there jump coordinates at the ready? If there was something like that that workedthough I would not Care if a TIE did not have the identical capability. A TIE fighter only needs to have the ability to work like a shuttle and travel betwwen spacezones in my opinion. All ships should have this ability standard.


And you cant just say, get a better ship. People are not going to be able to get the best ship or get exactly what they want immediately, they should not have have any travel restrictions based on the level of ship they currently hae.

All i can say is WOW


What started out as such a good thread has turned into nothing more than 2 sides too stubborn to see each others points.


For those of you who wish not to read all 11 pages to catch up on all the harsh words said then let me help recap.


There are two sides to this argument (as there should be)


One side is saying that Technically speaking there is no way phisically posible, with the litirature at hand, to cram sheilds and hyper drives into a Tie fighter with out modifying the body.


The other side is saying since its just a game and just a fantasy world then any thing is possible including putting shilds and hyper drives in the Tie fighter body.


Ifor one can see both sides of the argument and as an outsider to this argument can see how both sides have thier points and have thier faults. I am an avid starwars fan and hope with all my heart that JTLS does well. I hope that how ever the devs go in this situation that they will try and make it fun and real to the Star wars universe to the best of thier abilities.


None of us are perfect and I feel that there needs to be a better aproch to the situation.


Helrayzer... I understand your point and I beleve that you know your stuff in both RL and in the Starwars Universe... But im gonna have to say that you need some serious work on how to deal with a person who in all intents and porposes is just messing with your emotions, and has taken the argument way out in left field.

That a Tie Fighter is a figment of an imagination. that some one thought it up so some one can obviously think up of a way to put shield and a hyper drive on..... But Metroid you need to learn to be more diplomatic with your own opinion. True you defanatly want to state it but the only way your ever going to convince any one of your point is to be respectful of others opinions? I understand that the other side has stooped to your level and done the same. But its not a good reason to continue

I don't have any respect for their opinions, and I don't feel you can cram hyperdrives into a TIE fighter based on the idea it's "Just a game". I'm saying JTL can do it because JTL has the damn liscense. Get over it.

Well as I said before a few pages back, I am sure if the developers had the ability by the time the space expansion is released to have escort carriers and star destroyers able to be docked with to transport the ties from planet to planet. That is probably how it would work. For now it doesn't look like that's possible so, relax I am sure it will get changed when that's possible for now relax on the subjectpeoples...

Just because the empire didn't build the ties with hyperdrive doesn't mean it was impossible, they just didn't need to. We need to. Unless you wanna give imperials star destroyers. Which I'd support btw.
