So, I can just reverse engineer the heck out of my stuff and I don't have to have Kuat parts? That helps immensey

If you want to get more disks you have to do the following before you RE a part.
Run around your house only in your underwear 3 times. If your in the southern hemisphere it must be in the counterclockwise direction and if in the northern hemisphere in the clockwise direction. You must be flapping your arms and quacking like a duck for the first two laps and clucking like a chicken for the last lap.
Now I tried juggling comaquats (yeah however you spell it) while doing all of that and I actually got all of the disks in one try. Oh and wearing a chicken suit helps too. I noticed wearing just underwear only gets half the disks...so just thought I'd note that.

Well if it is random then I am cursed by the RE god. I have done in excess of 1,000 REs ( Not parts mind you. REs) and have never seen a disk. Not one. Nada!
When the first one drops..If ever I will probably have a coronary.

Define "high end". Not saying the Firespray is a "Bad" ship(never have), but most consider it pretty worthless(and it doesn't fit my needs atm, personally).
...maybe if it were a POB ship,

High end...umm, high level, high class, high skills to take to use it, etc.
Not: high grade, high quality, high value (well they are expensive just because they're rare...but that's it), etc.
More examples of my "high end" -- level 8 is high end, level 2 is not. YT-1300s are high end and dunelizards aren't on a SW skill tree. (are you getting the idea yet)
that's about all i can think of to explain this "high end" dilemma
so, when i said "I figured such a high end ship would require high end RE parts to make." I meant I thought it took level 5-10 parts to spawn disks or even higher like 8-10 level parts. but this has been discussed and i'm all straightened out now.

I also feel that for the degree of work required to attain this ship it has no cunter balance. Meaning? Its darn hard to get and when ya get it it doesnt feel like its worth the effort.

When JtL launched there was no Krayt and no RotW ships (jsf, heavy variants, belbullab) and the Firespray actually was one of the best ships (not for pvp though).

Every ship has its charm. The Firespray is still relatively rare, and has a high "cool factor". ![]()

The kewl factor is what the KSE is all about
Whenever I get a set, all of them sell out within a week. I try to tell everyone who asks me about them before buying that the stats just dont stand up to other ships in PvP, yet most buy anyway. Their explanation is almost always the rare/kewl factor. The Firespray is a neat looking ship, plain and simple.
And YES, no matter what people try and say.. lev1s are the best way to go. Best cost/time vs disk ratio by far.
I need only one more disk for my 5th set, maybe Ill hit up Alirc and see what extras he has
. He's totally right about the trading part.

the ratio isn't higher in low end RE loot, you just RE it more often. I've gotten discs while inbtween waves of duty missions RE'ing Lvl 1-3 parts, and I've also gotten one doing a lvl 6 parts while in space. I've gotten a disc from a lvl 9 reactor, and from lvl 1 armor. The only thing that doesn't seem random is the number of the disc. #3,5,7 seems more common for people RE'ing on Tatooine, #4,6,8 on Lok. Every set I've compiled (8 now) I've had to trade with SW from Tat and Naboo.
There is probably no such pattern, keep in mind that Tat and Naboo simply tend to be where most of the crafters congregate at the moment so you're probably looking at 80% of your crafting population falling into that category, at least on our server. So this may be something to pay attention to, but by itself i don't see this as really making much of an impact on how or where you should RE parts.
