I got the impression that you have a better chance of getting the disks when you do more high level parts than low level since this ship is a high end ship. I don't know really. Just a guess.I've been REing parts and have gotten nothing yet. I've even RE'd a lot of KSE parts and still no disks at all. But I've only RE'd about 60-70 parts now...so I guess I haven't done it enough. Even though REing is robotic work, I do like trying ot find the best part out there since I'll hear a story here and there about an RE part that has outrageous stats. Like the other day I RE'd 2 level 2 capacitors to hold 1k of energy. I never saw that before and kinda got a kick out of that since I usually see an average of 800 energy level 2s. Anyway, no disks yet for me and it being a random thing there really is no reciepe for this it looks like.

Daft question but I could really find a definative answer to it:

Can you get firespray disks from RE'ing lvl 1 stuff? And has anyone got one from this?

OK, to be clear. The disks drop randomly. What you RE makes ZERO difference. I have had disks drop from level 1 - 10 parts. There is ZERO correlation to the name or level of the part you RE.

So, YES level 1 parts CAN drop the disks. Kuat components DO NOT enhance the potential to drop the disks. If you want to have a better chance of getting disks, I'd suggest you RE as many parts as you can. IMO RE levels 1-3 are ideal, why? Everytime you RE a part you have a chance of a disk dropping. Do the math; a 50 item backpack filled with lvl 1 parts = 50 chances at a disk dropping. The same bag with level 10 components = 5 chances. I dare say its also easier to aquire level 1-3 components than it is to aquire 4+.

If you are having trouble with duplicate disks, I suggest going to your galaxy trade forum and post "Looking to trade my yyy disks for your xxx disks".

Think that about covers it.

I have gotten most of my disks from level 1 parts. Yesterday I hit my limit on my storage vendor so I REd about 400 parts. I only got 1 disk, but the parts were mostly level 5-10. I think I went through 4 tools, so about 70 RE attempts. If that was 400 level 1 parts, I would expect to get several disks.

The only Firespray schematic I ever got I traded several disks to make my set. I had a lot of doubles. Make friends with the shipwrights of your server.

All of my disks have been from level 1 and 2 parts. And like it was suggested before, I farm most of mine from tier 1-3 ships.

Also remember that you can actually sell your REd parts to the chassis deal if they are crap.

I've collected a good supply of disk parts (although 6/8 seems to be particularly good at eluding me ) and I'm not kidding when I say 99% of them have come from L1 parts.

I farm or buy the L1 items from other pilots until I have between 100-200 total, and then burn out the lot of them in one big session. I use L1's because other than reactors and boosters there aren't many things I've seen at L1 that I find better than the Prototype components on the starter ships, and I don't use L2 parts or above until I have picked them over carefully for the gems. (once that's done I got nuts and burn off the "junk" low-end parts as well.)

Every time you RE something you get a "Kuat roll" for a piece. So the more times you can RE, the greater your chances of a roll coming up in your favor. So if you can get a "roll" with 1 part, why burn off 4, 5, 6, or more parts for that same single chance?

I still think it odd for these disks to come from low end RE parts. I dunno...I figured such a high end ship would require high end RE parts to make. So I guess I'll direct my attention to L1-3s instead.

the ratio isn't higher in low end RE loot, you just RE it more often. I've gotten discs while inbtween waves of duty missions RE'ing Lvl 1-3 parts, and I've also gotten one doing a lvl 6 parts while in space. I've gotten a disc from a lvl 9 reactor, and from lvl 1 armor. The only thing that doesn't seem random is the number of the disc. #3,5,7 seems more common for people RE'ing on Tatooine, #4,6,8 on Lok. Every set I've compiled (8 now) I've had to trade with SW from Tat and Naboo.

Surprised no one had mentioned this. A "tip" would be to farm T1-T3 ships for LOW end components. You're looking for RE level 1 - 3 components. You have a better chance of a disk dropping if you RE 5 sets of lvl 2 items than 1 set of lvl 10 items.

However, it IS very random.

If you want to get more disks you have to do the following before you RE a part.

Run around your house only in your underwear 3 times. If your in the southern hemisphere it must be in the counterclockwise direction and if in the northern hemisphere in the clockwise direction. You must be flapping your arms and quacking like a duck for the first two laps and clucking like a chicken for the last lap.
