Thread: heavy tie

Why pay for 3 different TIE Fighters when this is the ultimate one and you can use it with only one earned skillbox!
Because it costs as much as three low end ships :0 .
By the way , unless you are actually a new player and really can't afford one it's well worth the cost.
And to be fair, you learn a LOT about mass management in the Imperial tree, if you don't take the Heavy TIE.
Not that I wouldn't do it myself as a new player. Just gotta point out that you will miss some of your unofficial, "training."
i have over a million credits do you think i could pay for a heavy tie
Standard going for heavy variants is 300-500k on Starsider.

Yeah, true, but if you didn't have to, why would you? Hehe.
Honestly, if my alt wasn't a master shipwright, I probably would go the standard TIE fighter way, up through the tree, but since he can MAKE a heavy TIE, why wouldn't he?

YPR? My guess is that this is not a good engine. If you want "turns on a dime" you should see what some real engines do.
Started to mess around with a Heavy TIE this weekend on my alt. I'm not a fan of the gunplacement or the single blaster hardpoint, but its a very solid ship, and quite capable. I wouldn't like it more than my regular Adv. X-Wing or Belbullab, but a great ship if you want to make the Imperial grind one heck of a lot easier.
WellI did say that the crafted parts were made my SW alt right before dropping SW, I had decent resources but nothing spectactular. The PYR of the engine is 62/62/59 - roll is plenty fast at pretty much any value. This gives the Heavy TIEPYR accleration values of 8.7/8.7/4.4 compaired to1.7/1.7/0.9 for an Oppressor with the same engine loaded. (hit v in space to see them) The Heavy has such high multipliers that even lower PYR engines give spectacular resutls. I think you can see why I said it turns on a dime =) Nothing in this mass class that is available to an Imperial Pilot comes close.
Gonna have to disagree.....
Eta-2 is BY FAR the best Imperial ship in the game for fighting. I am 4/3/3/3 with some decent Re'd gear and I kill tier 5s for fun and loot.
(Yes all factions are Certified but only Imperials can do the quest.)
Bell-22 is almost as good, but the profile is bigger than the Eta-2 so it gets hit more.

As if 90% of the people that fly the JSF could hit the side of a barn. I use my Bell just to give them a chance.

I built Aivo's heavy TIE. My price of 300k is mid-range for Valcyn, 275k being lowest and 650k being the highest I've seen. I charge an average cpu for the normal resources, and 10cpu for the space resources, which I mine myself when I get a chance. Combining the two figures, I came up with 300k. It's a fair price, makes me a little profit, and keeps people like Aivo coming back for a special part, or an upgraded ship. I'm not really in the shipwright business to make a fortune, more for my own use as a pilot. Being able to make some money, help out other people, and learn more about the game is a huge plus.
My shipwright is an ace RSF pilot, and flies a YT-1300 and the JSF. I bought a B-22 the other day and tried it out, but didn't have a setup I liked, not enough to get a good feel for it. I was going to rebuild my Vaksai, but I found the B-22 for a low price and couldn't help myself. I'll be rebuilding the Vaksai before I finalize a setup for the B-22.
My combat character is slowly climbing the ranks of the Inquisition, using a heavy TIE. I've gone so far as 3433 Storm Squadron and 3333 Inquisition before, so I know about mass management. Being able to not worry about it right now is a plus.
