So everyone else should have to participate in rediculously easy missions, because you can't hang?
You might pay to have everything handed to you, i play for a challenge.

I tried hyperspacing in Dath when things got a bit hairy, only to have them right in front of me once again as soon as I came out. A few times in has worked but only for a quick breather then they attack again. So it helps but not as well as you might think or want.

To Sin-Vraal,
I agree 110% with what you said. You're right, some people don't have the time nor the skills to advanced as fast as others but, you still should be able to enjoy what you paid for.

Something i would like to see is squadron chat. A chat channel for all the members of your squadron that functions galaxy wide. So you could go on squadron chatand ask for help from people on the same missions as you. That way people have an in game way to meet up and do these missions together.

I have to say i totally agree with the starter of this thread! I have now tried to do the Tier3 Mission-1 for Storm Squadron 3 times today! First solo, then twice with a friend. We spent almost 90 minutes - twice! with no success. Both times we were on the last part of the mission when we died. With healing health and BF in between trys and hyperspacing back to the Mission giver, I have spent almost 7 hours today trying to do this mission.
I am a pretty fair pilot with a pretty well stocked/armed Tie Fighter-IN. Up until today, I had died ONCE and that was because I took on more thenI should have just earning XP in the Lok system with my beginner Tie. I deserved that death.
Until now the missions have all been single tasked. This first mission for the Tier 3 has more tasks then all of the Tier 2 missions combined. That is just insane.
To say a well equipped ship is all you need is bogus. I have now had my First 200K XP ready to train since this morning. I have been running this mission (all 3 times) while making no XP. I would love to get into my Tie Interceptor (I already have the Chassis) but the dude wont train me until I finish. Kind of a catch 22 there.
I am not saying that SOE should dumb down the mission. They just need to separate it into parts. Let me complete the first escort mission parts, then report back. Let me go find the Recon Fighter and deliver its contents then report back. Let me go find the transport that I rescued 20 minutes before, then report back. Putting it all together is just plain mean on SOE's part. I am lucky it is Sunday. If this had been any other day, during the week, I would not have had 90 to 120 minutes to do this mission. I would most likely have had to log out due to actual life issues - I have a wife, a child and I run my own business.
I am very frustrated at this point. Up until now I was thoroughly enjoying this game. I thought, "wow, Galaxies is actually fun again." I spent $30.00 for the game add-on, $30.00 for a joystick, and $15.00 to sign up for another month of SWG. $75.00 and now I feel like I wont have the ability or the time to move forward with the game.
Once again I just have to say that I agree with the thread starter - what the Hell is wrong with SOE!

No one's asking for easy missions, much less rediculously easy, just missions that keep track of what part you've already done. There's no reason that these multipart missions can't "check off" after each part is completed so that if for whatever reason the player cant continue on to the next part, the game knows where you were.
I'm in the inquisition, myself (and fortunately in a guild with a good number of pilots) and my swoop has higher mileage than a longhaul big rig from that trip. I've done some of those missions more times than I care to admit before i was able to get help or figure out a strategy or just plain get lucky. Many times those failures were beyond my control. Why should I have to start all the way from the beginning again? It doesn't even make sense from the storyline of the missions.
One mission, I'm sent out to kill a traitorous general and his escort....fine. I wipe him and his toadies out. Game acknowledges that I've killed the general.Next phase. Something totally unrelated to that execution (I don't remember exactly now) and i get blasted outta the sky. Now I fly back to Moenia, ride out to the retreat and the trainer chews me out for NOT KILLING THE GENERAL? He KNOWS he's dead! Imperial High Command congratulated me on a job well done. WHY DO I HAVE TO KILL HIM AGAIN?!....it's ponderous...friggin ponderous. It doesn't add challenge, it adds tedium. I've obviously already figured out what to do for the parts of the mission I finished, let me continue from where I left off.

That's why you have to know when to hyper. If the mission requires you to take allenemies out, then it won't work. But sometimes when you get ships (those are mission targets not random spawns)attacking youenroute to a waypoint, as in the example earlier, it will certainly work.

a1davida1 wrote:Cry more please? ... There is not a single mission in this game that cannot be done by 3 good pilots or maybe 5-6 crappy ones. There is not a single mission that would take over 1.5 hours. Pilot is not made to be a cakewalk, if you want a handout get on welfare. If you want to work for pilot less moaning like a pregnant mother at 8 n a half months... and more doing your missions. I mastered pilot 5 days after launch playing 5 hours a day. That is 25 hours of play time meaning even the most casual of players can get master pilot in two months. IT IS MADE TO BE HARD... something kind of like jedi. .. The path to master pilot is 90% of the content in this expansion sad to say. If they made it easy people would have beat jtl in a week. Even the softcores, and they can't have that. Keep working at it youll get master if youwant it bad enough, but it does not need to be nerfed to accomidate your lack of will to master pilot.
Cry more please? How about you think of something original to say instead of hammering out the same tired pathetic insults and vacuous comments? And as for, "...if you want a handout get on welfare." Are you a little screwed in the head or just criminally stupid?
So YOU had time to play for 5 hours a day, not all of us are sad muppets with all the time in the world to play a game, we play for entertainment (usually spoiled by oiks like you that insist on opening your yabber hole even though nothing even remotely useful or intelligent is going to spout forth) and most of us have a max of 2 to 3 hours to play a couple of times a week.
Oh fcuk it, why am I explaining myself to the likes of you? Hey, if I "cry you a river," will you drown yourself in it?

missions are two easy imo, the only time i needed a group was the corvette and 1 tier 4 mission where i had to dock in the middle of a continuing spawn... no offense maybee you need more practice

For me, its not about the difficulty of the missions, its about the length. They could make the missions 10x harder and require a massive group for everything (well maybe I'm exaggerating a little), but the fact that I have to know that I have 2 hours set aside for 1 mission is a bit absurd. I am all for difficulty, but it needs to be within a manageable timeframe. Some people have suggested being able to check off parts of a mission, which I think is valid, but then that ruins the continuity of the missions. So it appears as if we are at an impasse...

I don't get this thread for the most part....
I am 100% sure that all the people who complain about difficulty and length have not yet learned how to fly and especially how to use the various droid commands you can get from each faction (yes you can use other factions commands if you did not know that yet).
This and the specials should make it possible for any pilot with practise to solo most missions except maybe some of the tier 4 missions that really cry for ONE wingman at your side. Even the corvette mission is doable by 1 person although more are nice to have.
For the length of the missions .. i have yet to see ANY mission take longer then 1 hour. I am also Ace pilot and i did it while there was PvP enabled in Kessel. If you die a lot during missions even with more then 1 person to help you, you should REALLY rethink your strategies. You are really doing something wrong then i am sure.
The last person i encountered that complained to me in game that he and 5 guildmates where not able to finish one of the tier 3 missions turned out to be a guy that did not even know he could reduce his speed to be able to turn faster......
It might not apply to all who have those problems, but seriously ask your servers Ace Pilot for help and advice... i know at least on my server everyone helps each other and you will always within few minutes find many people who want to help you no matter if you know anyone or not.
