Thread: faction
your faction should not prevent you from unlocking your FS slot; however it is unknown whether or not gaining faction points HELPS along the path to unlocking your FS slot.
My guess is that the more you do in game, the closer you get to unlocking the slot. so go gain those points! hehe

Well, any dev quotes on this? Ceist?
This "Imp/Reb doesn't matter" topic seems to be very popular, but I have yet to find any quotes or info from the devs on this. Can someone provide a yes/no answer once and for allas to whether people with +Imperial or -Rebel faction can unlock the FSS, with definite proof?
People claim that the devs said faction plays no part in it, but I don't recall it and have not found it since, myself. They may have.
Yet another item that the FAQ should probably address.
From what the devs have said the imperial or rebel factionswon't factor in. I dohave a strong feeling the lesser factions might, I am talking about hutt, jawa, nightsisters ect.. ect..
Maybe gaining faction with the same groups jedis were friends with in the books/movies could be part of it:? Of course keeping the same enemies would apply as well (exception beeing imperial).
If I get too many negative rebel faction points by running imperial missions are the rebel NPC's going to start jumping me everywhere I go the way thugs do? If so, does being covertly declared make a difference?
Concerning switching from one faction to another, when I run Rebel missions to get my prescious faction points, every time I kill an Imp I get some new Rebel faction points and also some points taken away from my Imperial faction total, so that now I am a bit more than -1300 Imp. I imagine that if I wanted to switch (Die Imps!) I'd have to work my imperial Faction back to the minimum of 200 again. So the more depth you put into your present faction, the harder it will be to switch.
However, I think delivery missions will probably give you only positive faction & not take faction away from the other side, but I have never run one, so I don't know.
