In a word, Yes.
The game mechanics seem to revlove around attaining MASTER status for 5 professions determined at character creation. You do not need to be a Rebel or Imperial to be a master scout, master architect, master commando, <insert class name> master, etc.
As I understand it.......your Jedi character will be covert Rebel initially, but will have the option to go for Imperial or Rebel but not neutral, once she begins working on the 2nd of the 3 tree's of Jedi skills.
IE:
At or before: 4/4/4/4 + Master = Covert Rebel.
At or beyond: 4/4/4/4 + Master + Novice Jedi Knight/Dark Jedi Knight = You're on one side or the other.

Does anyone know if you can get enough faction to be able to walk into the Tuskin Fort and be considered a friend?

Now that faction pets, namely AT-ST's, will only attack enemy factions, are people still asking Smugglers to buy faction for them. I used to see smugglers all the time around the recruiters, but now I rarely see them.

I think 2 professions - Merchants and Smugglers - should NOT get a TEF when trading with opposing factions or overt members of factions.

Oops. I wonder how I edit.
The subject should be Faction "proffesions" I pressed enter and didn't really know how to edit >_>
Anyways, I think we should have a Spy position bought through faction points. Then we could infiltrate ImpStars.... I mean, covertly board them <_<

Uh...What?
....
Oh, I get it now.
Well, presumably you could, but you wouldn't be able to be a rebel pilot as well. From what I heard, you can't be a faction pilot if you're an enemy of that faction.
An example of this is that a Rebel can't be Imperial Pilot and vice versa.
However, I'm not sure aboutprivateer.

Do you mean if your a rebel can you still bea privateer?
If that is the question sure you can, but if i was a reb or an imp i would go to the rebel pilot or imperial pilot tree.

That depends. If you want to master the Rebel Pilot tree, you will have to drop the Privateer line. If you want to stay low level, you can still do a little of both.
