People are making it so quickly by simply grouping up. This is where the game is letting a lot of people down because if you're already a member of a big guild with an active flight squadron then you're laughing, if not, I doubt you'll ever get to Master/Ace. I've been stuck on the same mission now for over a week. No matter how much I stand around like a beggar pleading for people to help me I just get ignored...makes ya feel all warm and fuzzy inside

Yeah well timing is eveything you know.
When I camping the spawn point for the corvette (1hour wait)no one ask to join our group then BUT boy after the corvettehas spawned it never fails I get 4 to 5 tells asking to join.
I'm not saying you personally do that but say wait like the rest of us and maybe you will get master.
I love to help but not when I got 8 ships argo on my a$$ and I get a tell "Can I join?".

lol.
fly more.
1 'vette destroy mission from master pilot and i still have a life. it's really not that hard unless you're not so good at flight sim/fps games.
didn't group much. no uber loot. no exploits.

I just got to 4,4,4,3 I've got one mission left for that tier + the two master missions and I'll be an ace. I got JTL a week late too.
Am I a loser sitting on my fat arse? I dont think so. I have a job. I'm married. I spent 95% of my life offline. Maybe you just need to find a good guild or something to help you out. It's really not that hard.
Tips for you:
*Don't dogfight at full speed.
*If a ship that is faster that you starts flying straight at you. Turn the direction it's flying way before it gets to you. That way it will fly past you and you will be behind it.
*Don't dogfight at full speed.
*Always take a wingmate.

It's really easy if you've got wingmen. I mean REALLY EASY.

Why the HELL am I seeing Master and Ace Pilots after only three weeks since launch!!??
Don't give me this crap about having more time to play! Bull! That's 7 1/2 million points of
experience!
There is something VERY WRONG with this game if someone can Master/Ace a profession
in three weeks. I thought SOE fix that OBVIOUS experience point exploit??
Why do I call it that? How the hell else can someone get 7 1/2 million points in three weeks if
they are not exploiting a flaw in the experience point system!!??

Why are you worried about what other people are doing? JTL is not perfect. Not even close. But it's an awesome game. Just enjoy the game and stop worrying about everyone else.

Just the thread title looks like it should read "BUT I WANTED TO BE FIRST!!!"
I do agree with the fact that if you are having that much trouble, then it's probably because you aren't good at this game. Sorry. But isn't our fault.

I don't think the original poster is very far in this game or has even played it. If he did he would know that your first skill box is a freebie. Also that your whole 3rd tier is a freebie (you just do missions, complete them and you get a box.) Your master box, which lists you needing 7.5 million xp is a freebie ( do 2 missions and it is yours). 4th tier is 1 million per box. I am currently 3322 and just have not had the time to dedicate to my long missions to go any farther. Once I find the time and complete the third tier it will be duty missions for me with friends.
I just have to say that grouping up in space is a blast there really is no reason to go solo. Even though I got to my current level solo I have grouped up since and once during 2nd tier duty missions ( to alleviate the boredom) to help others and for fun.
