Well, the Y/P/R stats of crafted engines are really terrible, so it's not really comparable.

The top speed of the Mandal Motors 'Inferno' engine (granted as a quest reward) was reduced from 92 to approximately 79 to achieve better game balance. The certification level required for the 'Inferno' is too low to warrant such a high speed. Please note that engines of this speed (90+) and greater can still be looted and manufactured, but with high enough certification levels as to keep the game balanced. Existing 92 speed "reward" engines will not be affected, but will decay with damage as any other component would.
This huge speed for such a low mass was the only thing keeping me in my A-wing. The A-wing is supposed to be ultra fast and maneuverable, yes maintain a low mass. Well, 66k mass is far too low if we have to dump half of that with a decent engine. I already have worthless armor on the thing in order to be able to hold a somewhat decent blaster, therefore, the only thing keeping me alive are my agility and my deflectors which do little good in PvP since the damage output needs to be nerfed more. Sure, it's only a difference of 13, but the 13 or 14k mass made that engine a perfect fit for an A-wing.
SOE has already screwed me once this month by adding more mass to the Firespray (now 212k as opposed to the 179k I spent MY 10 mill on) Sent in a ticket to try to have mine altered and got a no-can-do, sorry, keep paying us your money, have a nice day.
Well, rest assured, this engine will be in my A wing until its HP prevent me from installing it. After that I'll probably have to spend millions to attain another, or finally retire my beloved A-wing. 66k mass is not enough for a ship of this nature to be properly equipped. A-wings in stories were loaded with deflectors, blasters, concussion missile launchers, fast engines, a hyperdrive, and a booster. Good luck fitting half of those (with useable stats) on a SOE A-wing.

cry more noob .. crafters can make better... or comparable .. they just need to be competent.
WRONG .. Y/P/R was changed to be determined by the chassis based on max speed of the engine
Is there anyway to check the Y/P/R and other stats on the chassis after generating ship?

incidentally, what do those acceleration stats do? i know the max P,Y, R on the chassis is the speed you can take those turns at, but what is accelleration for?
i think if you hit "v" while in flight it will tell you. there is also a list of the stats on the pilot forum.

First question first, now I BELIEVE the engine ratings for acceleration are the PERCENTAGE of your acceleration useable for P/Y/R. Thus an engine with 72.2 has 72.2 percent of it's acceleration rate for that stat, not sure on it yet it's rather difficult to actually test. As for the P/Y/R on the chassis ship, they are fixed now and you cannot see them but they are the same for each ship type/class, thus all interceptors have the same P/Y/R no matter how well they were crafted. Someone has published some hard numbers on the chassis P/Y/R but I cannot seem to find it.

everyone is effected by this engine nerf (as said before... about 3 weeks old.) If i can get my 79 engine to a cruising speed of 1k then there really isn't anything to worry about. Besides, with this nerf i actually can use my 85 spd engine at 13k mass.

Lol. you call me a noob and you don't even read my arguement. Go back to 4th grade where they taught you how to read the paragraph for the main points.
I did state that while I could get a similar engine, there lies the problem. The looted engine is 92.2 max speed. Crafted engines that are similar or equal to this mass will be a much higher mass than the 14k that this looted engine consumes. Thus, the reason for this post. Nice try at an insult and a flame, but you made yourself look very foolish, now shoo. I agree the Interceptors face the same problem, and unfortunatly, putting a 30k mass engine on an interceptor leaves you with no room for anything.
Which again is the purpose of my post (in case Cpt. Dumbass needed another hint)
I preferr my A-wing over my X 10 fold. I've even unpacked my X and replaced it with my Firespray, which is a bit worse at turning, but can hold launchers to compensate.
Thanks for those of you discussing and being constructive. i enjoy a good discussion.
Almost as much as I enjoy putting children in their place.
