Hey what's the benefit of using missles on the components when you can blow them with blasters? (I've never used missles so I don't know) Is it an aiming issue?
You can execute evasive maneuvers without spoiling your missile aim. Corkscrewing works well to spoof AI turrets.

I see you're on Starsider. If this is the case, contact me and I'll help you. I've soloed Corvettes before. I haven't tried the imperial one yet, but I'm positive I have the skills to do it. My name is Aesherlyn and I will help you if I have free time.

If you're a Rebel, use a Y-Wing and load 2 MKIII Proton Torps with high damage. Number of reloads don't matter since you're going to die at least 3 times. Stock up on All Purpose Repair Kits and Torpedo Reloads. Use droid programs to increase your survivability. Hit the Corvette like so:
1. Approach from the front. Hit both of the shield generators on the "shoulders" of the Vette. (It'll take a total of 4 torps to kill each generator.)
2. Approach from the bottom, a little bit to the rear of the Vette and hit the engines. You've just immobilized the Vette. The escorts will continue on the patrol and leave the Star Ravager unguarded.
3. Hit gun # 5. It covers the bottom half of the Vette.
4. Nestle in the blind spot. Hit guns 6 and 7 on the rear of the Vette.
5. Maneuver and hit gun 4.
6. Hit guns 0-3 while trying to stay in their blind spot. They're murder on the top, forward arc. Be careful.
7. Nail the reactor
8. Hit the bridge.
Congrats. You're an Ace.

No, getting the 7mil XP will NOT allow you to train Ace. You must destroy the vette. A guy I know on Radiant did the 7Mil grind and it would not allow it. He had to do the vette mission to get ace, and all that time getting the 7Mil xp was wasted.
probly got a big haul of loot though

your tactics are in the wrong order. hit gun 5 first, and then the vette cant shoot down.
with gun5 out of the picture you can stay below the vette and it will never fire another shot. then you hit the shields fron in front of and slightly below so that you are out its firing arc (you can also come in to the side a bit and use the vette to shield you from teh two gunboats).
then come in from below and behind the vette, right in the gunboats blind spot (both reb and imp gunboats cant shoot from directly below to below and slightly behind) and shoot the engines.
get outta rage and go grab a beer, when you get back the gunboats will have flown off and left it undefended.
the rest of the guns can be taken out from beyond their range of fire.
kill reactor and the bridge for the win.
No, they're not. My tactics allow a pilot flying a Y-Wing Longprobe to not worry about the escorts. The Vette will be around for maybe 30 minutes. How long will it take to destroy all of the fighters so that you can nestle safely in the blind spot created by the destruction of gun #5? And let's not forget that so long as the Vette is moving, you have a chance of running into other enemy NPC spawns. Yeah, using my method, the guy is going to die a minimum of 3 times, unless he gets REALLY lucky during the shield takedown because /iffscramble worked in time. But he will immobilize the Vette within7 minutes of it spawning and most of that time counts his trip back to Kessel.
(Word of warning to you guys who attempt the other method: beware of the Tier 5 Aggressor escorts, they won't miss when you're engaging the other fighters.)
I've stripped the Vette of all of its escorting fighters and did your method of killing the Vette. The simple fact is, it's faster to ignore the escorts and immobilize the Vette.

Tactics or no tactics.....noone should be able to solo the vette....however being as we can, I'd say go ahead and do it if you want, until the devs fix this like they did the SD and Reb stations blindspots...I guess it's free game. However, an alternative to dying so much is to take a master pilot with you and have them use 3 MKII space bombs on the vette...that will take out nearly everything....it will cut your time to kill the vette considerably.........anyway, it's just better to take the vette on in a group....solo is fine if you want that challenge....but a well coordinated attack is a bit fun....the feeling of a group of players working together on the same page is just great.....downside is, you nevere know what the skill and intelligence of your wingmen are if they are not your friends...some people are aces and don't even know how to even scratch the vette......
anyway, I really recommend trying everyone's tips....something will eventually work for you and your feeling of how you play....you just might not be comfortable doing certain things....for instance, many people panic when they lose their shields on their attack run to the vette and totally forget about their wingmates and/or emergency commands......be patient, stay focused, ignore the danger and keep your mind on your current objective.....because survive is futile...your gonna die at least once ![]()

I think your missing the point here.. I think what the game is asking for is 7.5 Mil XP PLUS you destory the corvette. I am guessing they never fixed the bug so I would suggest you just compelete the corvette before you see a msg one day saying Corvette mission fixed, you now need 7.5 mil exp.. I know for a fact that if you reach 7.5 mil it will NOT give you master pilot. You have to complete the process of blowing up the corvette..
