Thread: This is rediculously impossible.

That does it... I'm officially going to drop Storm Squadron and enlist in Inquisition.

Roflol! That made me spit my coffee. Nice!
i'm not sure why people keep giving the poor advice of disabling ships.
don't disable ships. WOUND them. the first spawn of any escort destroy all but 1 ship and seriously wound him. note the emphasis on wound. that doesn't mean target his components and disable, it means don't target anything and get him so he's basically a fireball. it's not hard, it just takes a bit of practice. i recommend doing this to the fighters and not the bombers.
the second wave will show up, be sure not to destroy the wounded fighter. next destroy all of the second wave and leave another ship wounded. the end result will be 2 wounded ships chasing you around, cursing at you and not able to really landa hard shot. disabling ships just starts a timer and when that ship blows another wave will come.
occasionally mistakes happen and they blow up and you have to fight another wave, but for the most part you'll be auto following your escort whilemaking dinner.
as for the large battles, you are on your own for those. spread out the playing field and try to get lucky is the only advice i can give.
everything in this game is soloable, you just have to know the tricks.
I just finished this sucker last night solo. I sorta cheated a little to do it though. Here's how.
First escort mission was easy, the 2nd where there's like 4 A-Wings and 1 B-wing you'll note comes fairly close to Endor station (well it did for me), I just went there and waited till the shuttle got close went straight at it and disabled the engines whilest dodging the many ships shooting me.
I then went straight back to the Station on full boost, /comm it and repaired all damage. From then on,only concentrate on the ships that followed you to the station and ignore any others attacking the shuttle.
You'll need to repair several times before you manage to destroy all the ships around you, after that, just just sit there and wait. Eventually the shuttle will hyperspace and you're done.
Another option where you have to go 8Km to meet a ship and get jumped by swarms of A-wings, I waited until there was 2 waves spawned then hypered to Ender station, repaired, and then went back to the waypoint via a looong curved route that bypassed the waiting ships.
In the one where there are tier 4 ships, I destoyed the 2 x4 and 4 x 3's and just stayed in the general area letting the shipI was suppost to protect go on by itself and staying well away from incoming craft.
Once again it hypered ok though shields and armor were both about 50. I guess hypering back to Endorstation would work too.
So is it possible to do this mission on your own?
The biggest difference between success and failure is the use of tactics. You can bring fifteen friends along, but if your friends and you have no tactics, you're going to fail as badly as if you went alone.
Tactics, by the way, include learning to manuever and fly in space. There are some great threads in these forums to search for on how to fly.
Or you can hyperspace to a safe zone within the system and proceed to therendezvous pointfrom there;90% of the time that will get rid of attacking waves and stop them from spawning. Knowing when to hyperspace is veryimportant to survival.Say, you'reon an escort mission and the ship you'reescorting jumps, and suddenly all themission critical enemyattackingcrafts become non-mission critical. If you're soloing, chances arethere could be 8 or 10 of them left, so your best option is get out of there ASAP, but don't leave the system of course. I remember in of one my Tier 3 missions, at the end ofan escort route, I would run into Tier 5 spawns, the first time I got myself killedbecause Ifailed to hyperspace in time. The second timearoundI started the hyperspace countdown as soon as I had spottedthose Tier 5 ships. The ship that I was escorting jumped when the count down reached 75%, perfect timing.

Absolutly, I've soloed all but a couple of squadrons and I'm working on those, and I know pilots who have done all 9 solo. That said, there's nothing wrong with taking friends along.

Personally, I really recommend fast, small ships, like the heavy TIE or the Interceptor over the bomber. NPC's really will miss the smaller hitbox more often, and all that armor on a bomber won't save you if you get hit more. Also, YOU MUST RUN DROID PROGRAMS. The difference between running these and not running them is night and day. ATA MINIMUM - run whatever combination you can of:
Reactor Overload,
Engine Overload,
Weapon Overload,
Weapon Capacitor Overcharge,
and Capacitor to Shield Shunt.
Every mission has essentially the same missions with some variations - learn the variations and what works well with them. For example, those missions where they send endless waves after you until you deliver something - just disable half of the first wave, then boost to the rendezvous point - then very quickly dock, normally the few ships still chasing you aren't a threat. And if they hit you - cap to shield shunt!
OR - missions where they sick a gunboat on you - small fast ship with missiles, and joust. When you fly at the gunboat, hit your booster and you'll shoot right by faster than the turrets can track. This works GREAT on agressors by the way, I think the front guns do less damage than the rear guns.
Also, fly the destory duty missions, where they send endless waves after you. These are fantastic training for the higher level missions.

astromech commandsfor weapon cap overload , cap to shield , weapon and engine overloadare realy nice to have them in use ... beside the commands and a good engine the new heavy TIE is our new best friend, that little 95k massship can be a realy nice little beast ![]()
your not alone ive tried for like 2 or 3 weeks on the rebel tier 3 or w/e it is so u can get an 3/3/3/3 skill. ive gotten to the 3 or 4th part and it just keeps telling me to do stuff and i die no matter what, so im pissed off and ready to burn something down...
All I want for x-mas is a TIE Interceptor...

Yes, it's perfectly possible. I soloed all of Storm Squadron during the quad xp week on Chimaera and only failed a mission once. However I've been flying a lot since JtL launched and this wasn't my first ace. If you're starting out with piloting, Storm Squadronmight not the best choice. On the other hand, if you want some real opposition and be the toughest kid on the block when you're done there's no squadron more suitable. ![]()

For example, don't wait until your rear shield is almost dry before taking evasive action justbecause you want tosqueeze off a few more shots on your target. As soon as you notice you got boogies locked on your six (you know, when you get hit a couple of times in rapid succession) do a couple offancy movesto lose them. With your maneuverability it'll just take you a couple of seconds to get back to blasting your target, whereasyour enemies always have a harder time and takes longer to come around and take aim on you again.
