Thread: This is rediculously impossible.

There must be have been a game design flaw for the Imperial pilot missions, because I swear that there is NO way anyone could possible beat the mission that gives you Tier 3 skills. I've tried everything. I disable the ships instead of destroying them, like the guide says. I have a Tie/In with the best weapons and equipment that I can use. I've tried getting high level people to help me.This mission is IMPOSSIBLE. Everytime I get to the second part of escorting the transport, I get overwhelmed by repeated overlapping waves of rebel ships. As if it isn't hard enough to hit the Tier 3 A-wings, the Tier 4's then have to come in. Even when I beat that part of the mission and the transport goes away, the Rebels still don't. Seriously, how am I expected to singlehandedly survive against 10+ Tier 3 and Tier 4 rebel ships who never miss a single shot, while experiencing lag so brutal that 90% of my shots go straight through them without doing damage? I have more than enough exp, why can't I just get my Interceptor cert now? If anyone knows of any way I might possibly beat this, then please enlighten me. Thanks.

Completed that very mission yesterday. I had another person helping me who was 3/3/3/3. Nothing fancy, we just killed the opposition.

I agree with you, the Tier 3 imp quest is "rediculously impossible" When i tried to do it today, i brought a 4444 pilot. We fought for over 2hr doing this quest nonstop, only for me to be killed my these tier 4 swarm agrows. I completely agree with your post finkstar and belive that this quest should be reformed.

Imperial squadrons are much harder than neutral and rebel. I did my last rebel squadron in a day without failing a single mission. Last mission where i had to take out tier 4 decimator and around 8 tier 4 fighters was tough, everything else is a walk in the park. And i would say switch to TIE bomber , it has two weapons and its big mass allows you to stuff it with lots and lots of heavy equipment.

None of the Imperial squadrons are impassible. What squadron do you fly for?

What ship do you fly, and what's it's top speed? I'm on my second Imperial Ace right now, working through Inquisition. The heavy TIE Fighter has been a perfect fighting ship- relatively small and agile, with a decent loadout. If you're having trouble surviving, consider changing your tactics, and I would advise against the heavier ships.

Get a good engine (I have a level 4 non-RE'd that has a speed of 74 and 54ish YPR) and a shield with decent HP, make sure you're running the usual droid programs (you ARE running programs, right? All five fo the big ones?), and never stay still during the mission. And if you get to the end of the escort and the ship hyper's out safely, with a 74 speed engine and boosters you should be able to take off and outdistance your opponents.

So is it possible to do this mission on your own?

I don't know man, I've been doing the reb Vortex missions on my alt for fun and all I can say is "Tie-Aggressors".

Those things are ludicrous, at Tier 5, they fly around at amazing speed, and that turret... that god aweful turret!

That turret has a ridiculous shooting area, it does major damage, and the darn thing is magic and never misses!

You can't be in front of the aggressor or it'll shoot you, and you can't be behind it or next to it or it'll shoot you. You can't be on top of it or it'll shoot you. You can be under it, however, but then it'll just roll over and shoot you.

My 90k mass heavy Z-95 just isn't cutting it. Last night I finished putting together a 180k mass heavy x-wing. Battle tested it and it vaporizes Tier 4 Black Suns in a half a second.

Maybe now I'll be able to take on that on that horrible Tie-Aggressor?

In general, though, I thought the reb missions were much easier until this one. I'm 4433 and am having trouble on this mission. As an imp, I made it to 2322 before I started having problems.

Unfortunately this is true.

I have a 3/3/2/2 Imp. Pilot and the tier 3 missions (Emperor's Retreat) has all tier 4 enemies, at least 10 of them at once, it's not posssible (for me) to solo such a mission. Iv'e tried using the Tie/Bomber and the Interceptor to no avail.

I also have toons on other servers that are Reb. and Neutral, I was able to solo the Neutral pilot to 4/4/4/4.

No doubt, that mission is just pissing me off! I've tried 3 - 4 times! Not only
is it hard, but it takes almost 1 to 2 hours before I fail trying to reach my
contact.

Escort Shuttle
Take Back Shuttle
Escort Shuttle
Inspect Ace A-Wing
Help Shuttle
Escort Shuttle
Reach Contact!!!!! This is where I fail due to no less than 8 mixed of Tier 4
fightersmission popup & kicking my butt before making it to the 9000m waypoint.

Tie/In
Wep: 1000-1450
Engine: 60sp, 58+ rest
Sheild: 1200/1200/7.5regen
Armor: 900 F/B
Cap: 10k, 30Regen

Oyea dont hit eject more than once, or it will keep ejecting you over and over.
I ended up with 1800 wounds & BF

I wouldn't suck so bad, if my xp wasn't capped out at 200K! I could of had about 1mil xp if I could get trained!!

I'm on the same mission.

I don't have any problems with grouping up to complete a mission, but let's be serious, it took 3 of us in TIE/INs, two aces, and a guys in a TIE Bomber 2 hours to get past the mission ONCE, and that wasn't even MY turn, then I have to ask all those guys to do it AGAIN for me?? That's asking 6 guys to spend 6 hours ingame so that 3 of us can pass ONE friggin' mission. It's nuts.

I soloed almost allof Inquisition Tier 3 (except the final part of the exit mission). It's not that hard. SS and BE, I admit, are a bit intense. Bring a Master Pilot, so much easier.

They need to seriously rethink this, and allow groups to take the missions and get credit for completeing them. If this isn't possible, and they feel the need to keep it this hard, then shorten the freakin' missions, or allow us to pick up where we failed and not have to start it all over again. And if that's not possible, then drop the difficulty some, or respawn less enemies.

I know what they're shooting for, and I can applaud them for it, but it's not really working in-game. When JTL came out, I had no problems with getting guild members to fly up and help each other out, or even finding help from others outside the guild. Now, no one wants to help, and the guild members are so frustrated (either they crash to desktop, like I do, or failing after 2+ hours of helping ONE person and feeling like they're getting nowhere and not wanting to do it again) that they're basically using their ships as a cheap shuttle between planets.

Couple that with some of the ridiculous space requirements for the new RotW quests, and you have people not only frustrated, but damn near close to closing their accounts. As it is, I cringe whenever I have to launch to hyper over to Kashyyk.
