So... with the next expansion? Not that they are adding skills to space, just that those of us who aren't CL 80 combat machines are going to become second-class citizens in space, too. "What? Can't fight? That's OK, we'll let you come with us and fly in circles around our Vette while we actually do the mission. And if you're lucky, a few ships may even attack you!"

Have anyone of you had experiece in this? I would like to hear from someone who has aced pilot, and has unlocked force vehicle control and can speak from experience. I know any mention of Jedi/force skills sends people frantic, but all I am concerned with is greater maneuverability in space with force vehicle control. Can someone who is not soo obliviosly biased towards force skills comment?

The ability to read is a great advantage..

read again the description of the FS Skills and you might discover that they are meant for GROUND Vehicle.. thats what the pop up text on the skills boxes says.

I can confirm that it works. There is no delay in 0-top speed acceleration and ship turns on the dime.

Someone has told me that once you unlock force vehicle control, that it will not only affect the way you control your ground vehicles, but also your maneuverability in space. Can anyone else verify this for me?

I can't confirm, but I can tell you that most of the pilot community would be furious if any ground abilities affected space abilities.

In other words:

"It @#$ well better not."

Jeebus, Jedi-boy, what's next? Are you going to demand being able to use the Force when space mining so that you don't need a tractor beam?

Jedi rely on the force to guide and thus need no targetting cursor or missile lock on guide. They shud be forced to fly in the mode without the HUD (ctrl shift H) LOL

I have a confession to make guys. I checked with Master Yoda, and he said that Force Abilites ARE in JtL. Yup.

Hetold me that since JtL is connected to your true reflexes, JediAbilites in JtL are connected to your true connection to the Force.

So if you're not getting access to all the really cool stuff, I guess you're just not strong enough in the Force.

Haha, I love it.

As for the second class citizen comment, well, to put it simply, if you fly like a second class pilot, you ARE a second class pilot. The space game is where players get to pit their actual skillagainst NPCs and other players. Giving some players an advantage because they've chosen to go a route that many others want nothing to do with is poor game design in regards to twitch games.

And yes, I became glowy this weekend and will pursue Jedi on my main character. I still want that to have exactly zero to do with my flying ability.

You misunderstand my point. Right now, there is no difference between what I can do in space and what the Crimson Phoenix pilot next to me can do in space (assuming that I am still in Crimson Phoenix, although this is likely to change later today or tomorrow). However, once capital ships are added, pilots who are crafters or entertainers on the ground will be made second-class citizens of space. Nevermind that I am just as good a pilot as you, maybe even better. Since I am not a CL 80 uber-template, I won't be able to pull my weight on these Vettes. Which means that people like me are stuck fling circles around the Vettes after they're disabled (if disabling is even a requirement), waiting for our ground-pounder friends to do the actual quest.

Hmmm 2nd class citizen in space... how do you figure that?

One of my Pilots is CL1, the other is CL80. Both can destroy in vette in just a few minutes. If being sat in a disabled vette makes you feel godly, then so be it, but I assure you, I will not feel like a 2nd class citizen when I am flying loops around it

Still space is just as much of a grind as the ground is... becuase I personally posses better piloting skills then you, but if your Master Pilot and Im 2211 then your going to kick my a** no matter how good of pilot I am. Thus I need to grind (and the space grind is not a fun one) to get higher level ships and equipment. So really you are rewarded for grinding, and punished no matter how good your skills are if you dont. I agree space should not be a "Grind to be uber"... but it in fact is.

As for Jedi piloting skills... not going to happen. You CAN NOT have RPG style skills effect twitchy play as the devs went over repeatedly durring the release of JTL.
