They did, and I suppose it was technically true. Since the chassis decays about 10% of the current value, it will take a long time for it to become 0. In the end, you will end up destroying the chassis yourself, since it's becomming useless.







Why would i want to lay out all my stuff on a multiperson ship if it's gonna hafta get destroyed eventually anyway?

i dont think this was already asked before. do you get item decay (other than your ship parts) when you die in space? and do you just reappear ar the starship terminal you launched from or go to the clonning facility? oh and does it play the imperial march when you see a star destroyer? that would be cool

no item decay. when you die in space your ship's chassisand its componets (engines, weapons,armor, etc..) get decayed and can be repaired when you reach the station. As for personal items you may have on you, no they dont get decayed. You'll see you suffered wounds when you land on the ground though. You also suffer wounds when your in a multiship and a plasma conduit explodes in your face. You need a repair tool to fix them or your ship stops dead in space and your space dust.







So items will decay, but they can always be repaired back to 100%?

To answer your decay question, you can repair the items back to 100%, but there is a decay. I haven't bothered to look at the conditions of the various ship components, but the hitpoints of the ship chassis definitely drops over time as your ship gets damaged/destroyed and repaired.


You also suffer battle fatigue and wounds if you get blown up. Fortunately, I haven't seen any detrimental effects to the piloting if you have full black bars and/or lots of BF.

Ok another question


Can you put both an ion cannon and a disruptor cannon on your ship at once? Like on a B-Wing or X-Wing is it possible?


Just thinking, that would basicly make you able to destroy anything...and using a seismic missile and a concussion missile in your two missile launchers would also make you able to destroy anything...hmm...just a few thoughts.


So is anything I just said possible?

You sure can. If your ship has slots for 3 weapons (lasers, cannons, etc...they show up as 'projectile' in the weapon group assignment window), you can put 3 different weapons if you want to. You could have a disruptor, a blaster, and an ion cannon if you wanted to.


The same thing goes with missiles. If your ship has slots for 2 missiles, you could put 2 different kinds and/or levels of missile launchers if you wanted to.

i have been on the edge of imp pilot and freelancer ever since i herd about this game. so the manuvarlyablilaty of the tie variants and ties doesnot offset the mass and multipule wepons of the freelancer and rebels? Also the imp ships cant be customzed. so are there any advantages to becoming an imp other than the decemator?

im curretly leaning more toward freelancer

also i have heard that the freelancer missions are more fun and involved than the imp missions. or is that a matter of opinion?

Ion cannons are more effective against shields and weaker against armor plating.


Disruptors are most effective against armor plating but less effective against shields.


Blasters are moderately effective at both shields and armor. They're a more average kind of weapon.


On the missile side...


Concussion missiles are most effective against shields (but weak against armor). Seismic missiles are most effective at armor. Image-rec missiles are moderately effective at both armor and shields and can track longer and have a better chance at avoiding countermeasures, but you can't carry as many. Proton missiles are also moderately effective against both armor and shields, but they're smaller so you can carry more (but also probably more likely to fall for a countermeasure and not track as long since they are smaller and don't have as much room for the fancier electronics and more fuel).

Another question!


Out of all the rebel ships, which one is a good fighter with a good amount of speed but still decent shields?


I was thinking an X-Wing might be good, what are the different weaponry slots it has? How many weapon slots does it have?


Also, is a B-Wing a decent fighter? Or is it really just an assault bomber?


Is it possible to equip an A-Wing with better shielding? How many weapon slots does it have?


Are all the ships really well-rounded to the point where I can choose one and its about the same as all the others?
