Metroid:

I love how you omitted stuff from my post to turn it to your advantage. The logic you use is what I expect 3 year olds to use. So tell me about physics and aerodynamics and the TIE fighters wings then little guy, since you know everything. That's right you don't. I got a good reference for you. Aircraft Design: A Conceptual Approach by Daniel P. Raymer. Check it out and tell me why horizontal wings don't provide lift again. You are truly an idiot!.

You keep saying we have proved nothing, but I have proved you wrong in everything you said. You just chose to omit all that stuff. And I am still waiting for your proof about the headroom in the TIE. "Oh just watch the movie", LAME. People trash you in every post. What happened in your other post Metroid. Not only were you trashed about the HD but also your lame idea about permadeath Reb aircraft.

I don't have to prove anything else to you, because frankly you don't have the capacity to understand. If you don't feel the same, that's ok. Don't say we haven't provided you with ample proof of why a standard TIE couldn't have a HD though. Your excuses are old and tired, so save them for another posts with people that care. Wait those people don't care about your ideas either. This is a good forum community after all.

Later Metroid, keep fighting your fight, but I am done with you, NEXT. And don't say, oh you can't prove your point so you quit, because I know that is what you will say. And you will do it anyways.

So this is to everyone on the forums except Metroid, because he can't read anyways.

Here is a good post about the different TIE's. Check out the part about the Reconnaisance TIE (Vanguard) that was one of the initial 2 TIE's created off the originaldesign. Notice that they had no extra room to add sensors and such, so they had to remove a set of lasers. So if the DEV's want to add anything to the standard TIE's they would have to remove lasers from it to accomodate the new equipment. Why the Empire didn't just slap the extra sensors and stuff to the TIE Vanguard, and hell HD's and sheilds is beyond me. They could have just let some one who owns TIE's personally ugrade them for the Empire.

Oh forgot to give Stephen_Odom theprops for collecting and posting all that TIE data. Thanks!

If you like I can also post the cut-away for the 'ground attack TIE fighter' (not the same as the TIE bomber!) which has got a large extension on the back of the cockpit to house the missile launcher + ammo (which again shows that the TIE chassis is just too small to do _anything_ else with)

I would be interested in seeing that actually. Thanks ASHRID

Two questions.

1) Why haven't you sent me your scanned bachelor's? You said you would. Are you lieing about it ? Go ahead, admit it.

2) Where are you getting these "Cutouts", ashrid?

I'd post a retorque for your posts, but, as far as I'm concerned, until know-it-all backs up his garbage about his Bachelor's, your both full of it.

The X-Wing cut-out was taken from the old Star Wars RPG source book (first edition). While I dont have the exact phrasing on me the material is stated as coming directly from the SW archives.

This book has a '10 year anniversary' emblem on it, giving you an idea of its age

The TIE cutout (and the one I will post later) is taken from the Imperial source book, again from the first edition of the West End games Star Wars RPG.

The 'TIE scout' picture I posted in my other thread (http://freespace.virgin.net/ash.ridley/tiescout.jpg) is taken from the second edition West End games Star Wars RPG rulebook.

Ohby the way I will see about the degree. I don't keep it, my parents do. They payed for it, so it is theirs .

And, as already has been proven, West End games has allot of inaccuracies. I remember the source books of which you speak, however I never had any of them that contained cut outs. Do you have any information about the size of components from .. oh I don't know.. a REPUTABLE source? One that hasn't been dropped by the damn companies who MAKE Starwars? k thx.

Translation: "I lied about the Bachelor's, so now I'm trying to change the subject"

I'll answer YOUR question when you provide the scan that you ALREADY claimed you'd do. ^_^

I see no reason in explaining lift to someone who claims to have a degree, I shouldn't have to really. Admit you lied and I will. ^_^

Well of course you are trying to discredit the 'evidence' because it confidently backs up the opposing position.

Let me ask you this.....

Who has the last say in anything published with the Star Wars name on it?

Who is responsible for any inaccuracies?

The answer to both is not West End Games (they dont get to 'make stuff up' without getting authorisation so they cant be at fault for any inaccuracies)

Granted as time goes by its more likely that contradictions may appear in some of the source (especially considering how much source there now is and how long its been going on) but I would put this to you

_If_ you can find an earlier authorised source than the one I am using, which contradicts the information I have provided I will conceed your point.

Unless you are able to do this I see no reason not the accept this particular source as authentic and accurate and any subsequent sources that contradict this one to be the ones in error, simply because West End games information may, in some other cases, have been found to be incorrect or contradicting (even by its other publications) - but I'll again refer you to the fact that any inaccuracies in licenced material must ultimately be the fault of Lucus licencing.

-edit-

Do you have the information you asking me for (size of compnents etc)?

What do you consider a reliable source?

Why must information from an authorised sourcebe further prooved to be authetic and reliable when no conflicting information (also from authorised sources) has been presented?

Oh and WEG went bust, I have no info that suggests Lucas dropped them first (unless you can provide any)

Alright. I'll provide a newer source. How's Jump to Lightspeed sound?
Oh wait, that's right... SoE is authorized by Lucasarts.. and JTL has TIE fighters with hyperdrive.

Gosh... what were you saying?
