Thread: Master level missions: a SOLUTION to make everyone happy.
PvP'ers are antagonistic, cruel pre-adolescents

Well there are two sides to that coin...I've been in the middle of this debate for two-ish years now...
PvE'ers are whiney carebears
PvP'ers are antagonistic, cruel pre-adolescents
And both have been slung here so really the name calling card gets thrown on both sides.
What about those of us who are PvP&E'ers? Does that make us tough but careing? cause in that case /flex, /target self, /bmoc

See this was the beauty of Kessel if you were already a Rebel or Imperial pilot, instant overtness into a system. Nowpeople willhave to make an EXTRA trip to the respective Faction Space Station that people AREN'T willing to take, therefore making their "overtness" utterly useless.
OMG! how horrible guess you don't want to PvP so bad, or is it just a laziness thing?
Actually, I have no problem with going to go Overt for my faction. I do have a problem of searching for over two hours to find PvP. So yes, it is useless. Kessel provided PvP for bothsides whenever they desired.
It is hard enough to find "volunteers" on the ground let alone someone willing to go overt in space.
Think that maybe this points to a bigger problem? Such as there aren't many folks who want to PvP in the first place?
Actually, people don't want to PvP on the ground because they don't have to as there is no challenge or reward. You go to Kessel to PvP because you have to in order to get Ace in whatever faction you so desire.
Just a thought, just a thought.

Ahhh, Neverwinter Nights. Great game that one.

It's very disapointing to see these changes coming - Kessel was a very fun place (and no i'm not master, i'm 3333). It was fun because it created the feeling of danger. I can see why you changed it - The vast majority of players in this game can't handle anything that may possibly cause them to lose. They've been pampered by underpowered mobs, and success on a silver platter. As soon as you put something in the game that may actually be dangerous, they all cry out in unison that it's not fair.
I've been taken down in Kessel several times, as well as taken out a few people - it adds to the feeling... everytime a player comes near, you feel like you are in very big trouble... there is nowhere in the game (except deep space now) where this feeling of impending doom surrounds you... i will miss it.THEN GO OVERT BEFORE YOU TRANSFER TO KESSEL
JTL Overt = I want to PVP
JTL Covert = I do not want to PVP
Correct - you can still play PvP in the zone. Just hit a Faction Space Station and declare...
assinine. and you know it.
If you think about it, ripping out the PvP doesn't even address the spawn camping problem. People will still be able to camp the spawn zones for incoming overts. And to make things worse, they can now camp the stations used to get INTO kessel! If you plan to add factional stations to kessel, what is to stop people from just camping those as well?
Being forced into PvP wouldn't have been such an issue if the weapon damage to shield/armor/hitpoint ratio wasn't so out of wack (a point which was pointed out time and time again during beta...).
I implore you TH, implement a better spawn system and fix the PvP damage before removing several of JTL's most interesting features!

/agree. they put out this awesome (in my opinion) game. they work and dive through it and shock everyone in beta with their response to our questions. then they ignore the very things that we tell them will be the most complained about once they go live. then they rip out pvp from kessel and /shrug and say: fixed!!!
nevermind the fact that if they scaled the armor and weapons around each other and tweaked things a little, the loudest complaints (PvP being 1-2 shot fights) from kessel would be addressed. Taking the mission out of kessel or even just tweaking one of the tier 4 missions to go into kessel if you want us to go there at least once (mission idea: you have to go waypoint to waypoint in kessel, no killing, just you running as fast as you can across the zone... call it a "Kessel Run") would make the rest of the voices go away.
most that like kessel and want to pvp agree: take the mission out, give them another option for master. Nothing is worse than killing someone who is trying to finish a profession.
