Thread: Master level missions: a SOLUTION to make everyone happy.

JTGAlpha-making kessel a pve zone is 1 character change of code. 1 BYTE.
Moving a mission in JTL is like a quadratic equation for kindergarden students.
then make another zone pvp. you got 8 more to choose from... oh yeh, they put missions in all the zones, so that's not possible...

Its over - fixed- like it or not, let it go.
actually, it is in testing, won't be live until tuesday. nothing is final until it hits the servers... remember the crafter nerf that was in testing that they scrapped at the last minute?

Whats Fixed ? Lol
They made Kessel a pve zone, pvp is in that area is voluntary.

Isnt PvP voluntary in every area? Except Deep Space, but Kessel is just like the other 8 now.

Yes, before Kessel was a pvp zone, and where you had to go to finish your master pilot box, pvp're were camping the hyperjump entrence points and kill groups of pep's before they even loaded in, and because of this Kessel is now a pve zone.

What crafter nerf?
Wasnt in beta
a few months ago, the devs had an idea that the bad stats on resources would count against a crafted item. that means that a crafter would have to pay attention to ALL stats and would in return, lower the resists on armor, doctor buffs would be weaker and things like that.
it went to test center and they were scheduled to push it live, but a huge outcry by the crafting community made them take it away.

Thunder wouldnt it be smarter to add the 75% reduction to pvp damage BEFORE putting in the kessel pve change and master box alterations? I mean 75% damage reduction is going to change jtl pvp dramatically and then people might have a different take on the whole situation.
actually, it really wouldn't matter. people don't want to be killed by a player while doing a mission that is required to progress. wouldn't matter if you were standing on the wing of the ship throwing rocks at them, they wouldn't want to do it.
we told them in beta, we told them when it launched, and now we are here, 3 weeks afterwards, when some masters are trickling through, changing the entire dynamic of one space system.
besides, 75% reduction is a worse idea than taking pvp out of kessel. the better idea is to change the stats on armor and shields, that way when super armor and shields eventually come out, we don't have an hour dogfight.

It's very disapointing to see these changes coming - Kessel was a very fun place (and no i'm not master, i'm 3333). It was fun because it created the feeling of danger. I can see why you changed it - The vast majority of players in this game can't handle anything that may possibly cause them to lose. They've been pampered by underpowered mobs, and success on a silver platter. As soon as you put something in the game that may actually be dangerous, they all cry out in unison that it's not fair.
I've been taken down in Kessel several times, as well as taken out a few people - it adds to the feeling... everytime a player comes near, you feel like you are in very big trouble... there is nowhere in the game (except deep space now) where this feeling of impending doom surrounds you... i will miss it.THEN GO OVERT BEFORE YOU TRANSFER TO KESSEL
JTL Overt = I want to PVP
JTL Covert = I do not want to PVP
Correct - you can still play PvP in the zone. Just hit a Faction Space Station and declare...
the entire "feel" of driving around overt and trying to hunt other overt players (only) is completely different from being in a PvP zone.
people can no longer role play pirates, non pilot masters can no longer take the galactic civil war to other sectors, etc.
the edgey feeling that youre being watched, or having to keep an eye out while blasting away at difficult mobs is gone. now, for those people who aren't master pilots, they will instead be reduced to aimlessly looking for a fight (like the theed/coronet PvPers in the ground game).
and what about the cool mini factions contained in the freelance pilot profession?
why not reconsider and leave kessel the way it is, but grant people attempting the corvette mission PvP immunity. or, move the corvette mission out of kessel perhaps?
"player vs. player combat" is treated like a dirty word around here, when (in my opinion) its far superior to PvE combat in most respects. its risky, and its more difficult (a real human will throw moves at you that no computer could ever think of), and with the kessel zone you could "feel" like a pirate if you wanted. or overzealous imperial. or whatever.
when the changes go through, it will be reduced to nothing but another zone to kill enemies. there were many people in the galaxy who didn't participate in the GCW, but now to take on the edgey feeling of fighting another player, we will be forced to do so.
is there no other solution?

Hey i got an Idea, Let make all the Master Pilots Huntable, like the jedi, and have the Freelance Pilots be the BH so to speak, and then we can pull mission on them and kill them and they loose XP, or better yet lets make a PermaDeath thing for Master Pilots, 3 kills they start over, i think this would be great for PVP, i mean lets keep the cycle going here, we dont want over population, and the BH that are Masters, can now feel a little of what they have been dishing out , lol
If being a Master Freelancer meant I was open to attack anywhere...I do it on the condition that the defending player got salvage rights.
I have no interest in increasing the 'wet fur' smell in PvP zones by actively hunting other players. But so long as my survival is rewarded, I have no problems vaping people either. Pixelated blood doesn't make me flinch
