Thread: I can honestly say I hate JTL because its way to hard.... Tier 3 is beyond hard and stupid!

I assure you it is true, and I have never cheated in this or any other game. I HIGHLY resent the accusation that I am both a liar and a cheater simply because I made it through Tier III without dying. I came really close to dying several times but I made good use of my boosters and shield commands. When worse came to worse I would hyper close to the Dantooine station, get partially repaired, and go back and hammer it again until I was successful. The Y-Wing has a lot of mass which allowed me to equip high damage blasters and missles along with good shields and armor. I made my ship very hard to take down at the expense of having to make very slow turns, and it paid off.
In other words, screw you for calling me a cheater and a liar.

I get a kick out of posts like this because if other people have completed it, then your apparently not trying hard enough! Maybe you want a game you can fly through and be the best in within a few days, but there is NO point to a game with no challenge. Im serious. How can it be stupid? Is it stupid because you cant fly through the profession in one night? Please tell me. Im curious as to your reasoning on this matter...
Yes they have and depending on the ship parts they have make all the difference. Not everyone is going to be able to stand up to level 5 ships when they are tier 3 Mission 1...

I'll admit I haven't read this entire thread....
I keep on hearing complaints about the Tier 3 missions being too hard, and it was to the point where I was dreading it. Then when it came time for me to do it, I soloed all of Tier 3 in a well outfitted Y-Wing longprobe in 2 days. It was difficult, but a lot of fun. Even though things got hairy I never had my ship destroyed and finished all the missions on the first try. It seemed to me that the difficulty of the missions was spot on. Plus, I'm not an exceptional pilot as this is the first flight sim I've ever played.
I don't understand what the problem is with the missions. Maybe the Rebel faction Tier 3 is just more balanced than the others.

Ok now after some work, I am close to being Master Pilot which is ONLY BECAUSE I had friends to help me. Now I am pretty powerful and almost nothing can take me out.. Here is my issue basically
People who are level 3 really still stink. Most ships in these missions are WAY to powerful. So bottom line I have to have someone who is GOD already do the missions for me. While this seems likes a great idea, its really not fun for the player. Bottom line these missions should be solo. Briniging ACES to help you really kinda ruins your fun. We already have UBER dungeons that you need a group of 20 people to do. I NEVER do those, and just because its a Multi player game doesnt mean everyone wants to group. Some people like to get all the resources, and cash without splitting it up. I am one of those people. I still say this part of the game should be solo....
Again, I'm gonna have to disagree with you. It sounds like the problem isn't the game, just that you're not particuarly good at at .
Now remember, I'm doing the same missions as you, with the same ship. Granted, the first tier 3 mission sucks, but it IS soloable, if you know the tricks. I personally didn't solo it, but, after doing it, like, 15 times, both for myself and helping other people, I figured it out.
The second and third tier 3 missions weren't hard at all. Me and one dude had no trouble with them.
The last tier 3 mission sucks, because of the nova couriers. But again, my group of 3 handled it.
The point is, I never bought any uber pilots with me, and I was no where near uber when I went with others. Honestly, if you need aces to do these missions for you, then it isn't that the game is too hard, it's that you're not a good pilot. Or maybe you have a bad joystick or something. I've learned that a good joystick can make all the difference in this game.
I still don't understand why you're even bothering though, since you hate grouping so much. The only thing making ace is going to give you is a better ship, which you won't need unless you go to Kessel, which you WON'T do alone, because it's 100% pvp and you'll get ganked as soon as you warp in if you're alone, which you will be because you hate to group.
Gunboats and cap ships are dumb as bricks in this game, but the gunboat in the Tier 3 mission is extra evil. They gave it an actual AI. Not to mention the final Tier 3 BE mission has not one, but TWO Nova Couriers in it, one is nice enough to fly along a level path, enabling you to knock the turrets out from the underside, but the second one twists and turns like an alligator on LSD. Needless to say, this was NOT an easy mission, and I failed it at least ten times, easily. Once I got a decent enough group together, I got past it, but just barely because that gunboat's a monster.
Other than that, I've soloed everything else save a mission where I needed partial help to keep from getting too far away from the ship I was meant to escort because of "ambushes."
Then again, I've been a loot hound on the bazaar, scavenging things other people stupidly sell without thinking twice about it. Got an L4 45.4/1067 power RE cap out of that, plus my current engines. I've built up quite a nice ship with very nice low-mass equipment this way at a fraction of the price some people are paying because I'm recovering the loot by sheer luck and knowledge of what to look for.
Tier 3 is hard solo, but Tier 4 is more forgiving by far. It lulls you into a false state of security before saddling you with the Vette destroy mission.
easy is bad
hard is GOOD!!!!
