I personally don't mind the need for a group, but I don't care for the amount of time it takes. I feel that once you complete a section of a mission your progress should be saved at that point.

I just tried the first tier 3 mission for imperial aloneand i found it quite easy, but at the same time i found it reeeealy long and drawn out. I failed it because i jumped out of the system thinking it was finished before it was. This was after like an hour of playing it. oooo i was mad. Having some company along might be nice, to have someone to talk to on those long boring patrols.

That's for the storm squadron i should mention. Their missions have all seemed realy easy so far.

Ahh.... The 1st Mission of the 3rd Tier of Storm Squadron... I just compelte that today. Took me 100 Minutes to Complete, but well worth it since I now got my own Intercepter I Completed it the First Time around with only one other guy, he had 4/3/3/3 Pilot Stats, so that may be why I beat it the first time around. But, just keep trying and find a good WingMate or Two to help ya out, and It will be a piece of cake.

Oh question, does the interceptor have 2 weapon mounts? so it shoots what apears to be four bolts, like how the tie/in has one and apears to shoot two bolts. The reason i ask is cause i think i saw someone mention that it had one and that would suck to me for movie continuity to see my interceptor shooting two bolts.

well storm squadron is the hardest squad of them all...

i dont mind grouping i find it fun and its doin what soe wanted team work no solo artists....

i have done tier 3 missions with groups of 5 and have done well...

also u mentioned that ur tie inst as good as ur previous ship... well change back then?

the game is supposed to be like this so u r never on top of everything ie u can have the bettre equipment then u have to save xp for the better ship... so u cant use all the best equipment because of the mass restrictions... and about the mass problem having trouble with ur interceptor get a tie bomber instaed and get groupwith others in fighters.... the mass on a bomber is way high and can carry a arsenal of weapons...

as for the component thing i have had my ship destroyed many times and nothing on it has ever decays just head straight into repairs and its clean again as a whistle....

I know everyone is talking about the 90min mission. i did that one mission like 5 times and my game crash in mid mission everytime and i failed the first 4 but the 5 i crashed and logged back on after 5mins and was still in mission. i lucked out.

The mission following that escort, inspect another adv recon fighter a-wing. well just tell me whats wrong so i can do it right.

i head to area -d 435 in endor. go to first waypoint, with2 tier 3 a-wings and 3 tier x-wings that are just so happening to be flying in the area. kill them and disable the adv. recon fighter. inspect the fighter. battle 4 tier 3 a-wings. head to the new waypoint that is 17km away. i get there and serach for the other adv. recon fighter a-wing. but it is never there. all i get are tier 1-3 x-wings and rebel transport ships. i cannot complete the mission because of this. i have been stuck on this for about8 days. and that gone for this mission about 20 times.

the odd thing tho is when i do the mission(not being my mission but the same one)with other ppl, they are able to complete it and everything happens just right and a happy ending.

any thoughts or question my problem plz post

Ok now after some work, I am close to being Master Pilot which is ONLY BECAUSE I had friends to help me. Now I am pretty powerful and almost nothing can take me out.. Here is my issue basically

People who are level 3 really still stink. Most ships in these missions are WAY to powerful. So bottom line I have to have someone who is GOD already do the missions for me. While this seems likes a great idea, its really not fun for the player. Bottom line these missions should be solo. Briniging ACES to help you really kinda ruins your fun. We already have UBER dungeons that you need a group of 20 people to do. I NEVER do those, and just because its a Multi player game doesnt mean everyone wants to group. Some people like to get all the resources, and cash without splitting it up. I am one of those people. I still say this part of the game should be solo....

I did Storm Squadron tier3 Mission1 - 2solo and i have to say, after all the cursing i did it feels good that i made it true it by myself...Mission 2 with the nova courier is the hardest part, but you have to wait about 20 seconds for them to spread and then attack the nova (disable weapons0) just keep shooting it and it will disable and blowup fast..Then it's only a matter of keeping the other ships of you back and disable them asap. Dont waste time following a ship but, when you see one pass by and is slower target it and disable..It is doable solo but it will take a few times to know what is going to happen..Mission1 took me about 7 tries and Mission25 times..

storm squad tier 3 is much harder than any other tier 3 regardless of faction simply because it makes u do the entire thing in ONE go... NONSTOP! That is, the Tier 3 mission is a series that first starts with an escort that immediately goes onto a rescue, then an interception, then another rescue, and then a delivery... if you haul ass, as the original poster goes, you can do it in 90 if you have a good enough group... and interestingly, each mission logs as a separate one... but if you fail one later on in the series, you have to do them ALL OVER AGAIN.

that's it. Theres no need to argue further because unless you have a group of5 people who's atleast decent in flightsims using the best available for a 2/2/2/2 your SCREWED! (and u'll need 10+ if your talkin about your average flight sim player).

and not to mention, the TIE/In (the tier 2 TIE fighter) only differes from the Tier 1 TIE by 5k mass (i think... too late to think correctly)which, if you wanna upgrade to lvl 5/6 cert, the mass difference only accounts for 2 or 3 "new" updated pieces (as higher cert stuff has insanely high mass numbers).

Then theres the TIE Interceptor Tier 3... man it's supposed to be GOOD! on the lvl of the A wing. but at the way it stands, theres no point in even trying with it as its just crap...

I helped my 2222 friend finish Storm Squadron Tier 3 mission one the other night, when I was 3323 in my interceptor. It was a total cakewalk, the only time things got even remotely interesting were when we were jumped by a random spawn of Tier 4's who we wandered too close to when moving to the next mission waypoint. Just the two of us walked all over this mission, first try.

Hard? Not really. Long? Yes.

The final tier 3 Storm Squadron mission WAS hard, but it was no harder than the final tier 3 Black Epsilon mission we did right before. Both of these took 3 of us to do instead of 2.

When I said SWG was not a loot oriented game I was referring more to the ground game. I have found some nice stuff in space actually which is a pleasant surprise.

However the only components I ever bought from a player have been level 2-3 stuff (bought to get out of my starter ship) and I think I still use that reactor (12k energy) as nothing I have looted, even level 5 reactors, has had good enough output.

So while the looted stuff is nice I have not even seen the good level 6-7 player made stuff and I imagine it is even better than the looted components, for the most part.

Unfortunately, this isn't the case. Looted reactors, engines and capacitors generally blow the best shipwright crafted ones away for the non-multiplayer craft. If you want 14k power output from a reactor, it's going touse well over 10k mass. You can find loot 13-14k reactors that are 3k mass or under. Engines are even worse.

On the flipside, you will NEVERloot armor or shields that are near as good as crafted ones, and weapons are pretty hit-miss as well.

Yep. As a shipwright myself, Igenerally recommend crafted weapons, armor and shields, and looted reactors, engines and capacitors. Shields in particular... I've never found a level 8/9 shield that had stats as good as the level 5 ones I can make myself. There's just no comparison.
