Thread: Re:
Should answer your question
And I have a simple theory for it too... The busier it is on a server, the less spawn a server generates...
I'm a CH, and I'd like to stay one, but when you've been traversing Endor for a whole night, andcan't even find one single warrior/webmaster lair while running around the outposts, something's wrong...
Imagine if I would set off on a widow hunt!
...
Actually, I've already done that, and I had to give up because I can't for the life of it find a spawn of one on the Europe-Chimaera server. I've ran around the research outpost in circles, but trust me, after a few days, it kind of gets boring not being able to find an adult spawn, let alone babies.
Funny thing is, for a short time, right after server up, there seem to be wild lairs around, but as soon as the general public logs on... *poof*... anything wild seems to disappears, and the only thing you'll see around the outposts are mission generated lairs.
I'd like to search for rare babies, but if the above theory applies, it'll take years to find even one single arachne widow baby on that bloody server.
I've had this happen on Eclipse aswell, before making my move onto the EU server. Whenever Eclipse's peak times arrived, certain planets would litteraly dry up!
What about other people's experiences with this kind of thing? I'd like to hear about this, because I seriously think this has got to do with it somehow. And if it has to do with it, certainly something can be done about it?
I can't imagine this would be the only possible solution SOE could think up to solve lag problems on certain servers?
"Sorry, we've had to make this interactive online world less interactive toprevent possiblelag problems"?
Here is one of my comments to the state of the profession thread.
General lack of creatures in the wilderness of certian planets. My main gripe is with Dantooine and Lok. These are mid to high level planets that seem to be more of a sub-urban community than harsh planets. The creature spawns need to be increased on both planets. If you don't want to get trapped in your house or ambushed on your way to your house, move to Corellia, Tatooine, Naboo, Rori or Talus. Dantooine and Lok need to be like Dathomir, Yavin and Endor as far as creature spawn rates. I really want a frenzied graul, but how the hell am I going to find one if the only way I can find graul maulers is to get missions. Hardly anyone is on Rori or Talus, make those planets, along with the core planets, the ones that are full of cities, not the upper planets. This is stupid and needs to be addressed.
I didn't really link this to server peak, as I have spent plenty of time on corellia, yavin, dathomir and endor without having spawn problems. Then again, I am on Bria, the crash queen, which might explain my experience as people mightbe avoiding it. I thought the issue was more of a player city convience.
Spec-ops duster, camo pants, sturdy boots, any of several types of shirts, ammo bandoleer, and the helmet Wedge gives you.
Here you go, HoloCarbs:
You will need to be a CH to do this. You will also need a lot of combat XP saved up. Here goes..
The easiest way I ever got Carbine xp was back in the days before ATST nerf..
I just went to the wilderness on Dantoine and made my AT aggro all the mobs in sight on it - thats up to 40 hardcore red mobs 3-5k xp each.I preferredany kind of voritors, quenkers, hurtons, and some tribesmen(Iforget which type some have high resists and some dont). Now, by "aggroed on AT"I mean that I made it run aroundand attack various groups of mobs byt diferent lairsand made sure to wait untill they all gathered point blank around it before shooting even once.Sure it hurt the AT really bad in the process, but it was tough and could take it. Then, I simply spammed FullAutoArea2.NOTE, however, that I spammed FullAutoArea2 on the same mob that the AT was shooting at - otherwise you get 10 coming after you in a matter of seconds and you are dead meat. In fact, there is usually one or two that will come after you anyway, and you just have to be able to take care of them quick. Plus, sometimes they all will come after you anyhow, and you just have to be able toloose them - well and come back save the pet if you can.
Anyway, this way I was hitting anywhere from5 to15 targets a shot on average... The whole 30-40 or however many I gathered usually took about 5 minutes to kill. Each gave me 3-5k xp usually. If you do the math thats a good 100k xp right there in 5 minutes, maybe more then that.
Now, of course there is a catch. In fact there are quite a few catches - what do you xpect for 100k xp in 5 min.
First of all, you need to have FullAutoArea2- which is in Special Abilities branch and that means you have to have lots and lots of combat xp stacked up from your other professions.
Second, you must have doctor buffs and whatnot to spam FullAuto like that.
Finally, you also need a goodcollection of very strong pets. MyAT got hurt about halfway in those 5 minutes when I did this - meaning most CH pets would be simply dead. But then again with 3 ATs I could do this 6 times in a row within1 hour, and get 600k xp. By the end of the 6th runall 3 ofmy ATs were near dead but I just quit forthe time beingand came back the next day with them all fully healed. Rinse and repeat. Now, I realize that ATs can no longer be used for PvE, but I am sure similar thing can be done if you are a high level CH - maybe limiting the amout of mobs you aggro on your pettoa smallernumber.
As said: this is not easy at all, you have a high chance to get your pet dead fast, an even higher chance to get dead yourself, and it requires very high character prerequisites. But, if you do manage to get this working, you can rake in xp at a purely insane rates - about 500-600k xp per hour as mentioned above.
Finally, as a side note, I would not advise using a similar tactic with Rifleman or Pistoleer as you needa consistent KDto keep the one or two lizards that will chase you at bay.
