I'll tell you what would be cool, is having more than 15 ships... now there will be a clutter of the two best models and no originality unless of course the coustomize options are great......
But I want to captain a star destroyer....one that takes as long to walk on as it would walking throu bestine...... with npc gunners at the turrets and a navigator that takes commands like a pet.....yeah, that would be superb....:comm:: Captain Attranac to the bridge. Sir, a small contengincy of rebels are believed to be on that freighter. The clearance codes sent have been tampered with... ::I say:: We can assume leutinent Fane that if the codes are tampered they have something to hide, and if they have something to hide it means we are meant to not find it. That is treason don't you think? Execute attack pattern RA-7559. I want those impulse engines offline, give me a concentratred attack there and once they shift all shields to the back, put a disruptor beam across her bridge. No, I don't want it destroyed, just immobile. If they are hiding something it is valuable and if it is valuable it can be used for the good of the empire. Pray it will please The Emperor, now bring me that cargo and let the Sketch of Paradise Ring fear into the heart of our enemies for years to come! ::Bridge officers cheer::

I want a customizable freighter...one I can strip of all freighter functionality and convert into a pirate gunboat....just sneak into a convoy...and start blasting away.

What I wanna know is how detailed is the interior of a YT1300 going to be? Can I actually transport anything? Regardless of whether or not it's smuggling? Will the interior basically be a house? I'm looking forward to being able to store more crap on my ship.
But a bulk freighter WOULD be rad... it just wouldn't have much purpose in this game. =) I do think, though, that a bulkfreighter with standard engines, great shields and great weapons (maybe a hidden missile tube) would give pirates something to reckon with..

I'd like a big cargo ship. Release these in partnership with Smuggler mission terminals where the Smuggler has to take their ship to a location, pick up a spice, smuggle it in their ship(taking public transport is too dangerous) and drop it off at the destination for x amount of credits.

I would love to see some of these, especially through quests and such. It'd be awesome to go after a freighter with your PA and have a Mon Cal Cruiser (or Star Destroyer) show up to try and put a stop to your efforts.

Nice to see you haven't entirely lost your enthusiasm for a well-rounded space game, Natty. ![]()
I'd started to wonder if you'd given up on the idea of ever gettingcommercial featuresin JtL. (Couldn't blame you if you had....)

Ialmost did give up. I treid out EVE Online and i find it to be pretty good. Sadly they havent included some of the smuggling missions that I'd like to take part in. Supposedly they will release that Nov. 3rd in the Shiva release. Bounty Hunting is in, but difficult to take part in considering most of the guys with bounties seem to have battleships...I dont stand a chance in my frigate or cruiser.
Im going to wait and see how both games handle these desires of mine. Right now EVE has one drawback, how to get chased and engaged by factions while transporting contraband. With the light-speed jumps, you rarely have any sub-light travels long enough to be caught...those transiting to jumpgates and stations at sub-light happens often and can still be pretty dangerous.
The variety of ships in EVE is amazing, It is certainly something JTL needs to look at, the literal thousands of stars, planets and asteroid fieldsto vist is astonishing too. I just wish they had other things to mine and investigate besides the asteroid fields.
Anyway, Im still giving JTL a try, though I may likly discontinue my subscription in the meantime. I thought the Jedi patch would keep me occupied, but honestly it was only a ploy to keep players stuck doing themeparksand POIs they dont want to do, only delaying the inevitable.
