TH,

Are there any plans for a % reduction on PvP damage for JTLS? Right now, pretty much EVERYONE is a one shot kill.

Yep

so instead of balancing weapons and shields... we will now have damage reduction? why not just up the stats on the base shields and armor so they can stand more than a few shots?

a KNEE JERK reaction from the devs? no!

the solution you are looking for is to make the master box grindable TH. not ruin people's fun. this game NEEDS pvp zones, and i'm not talking about going overt and hoping for random encounters. it NEEDS zones with a defined objective to defend/protect.nowit has ONE.

there is no endgame in JTL save travel and PVP, if you think co-op PVE is an endgame you are deluding yourself, or you are simple.

taking away end game content for players is a mistake. the corvette is a brilliant idea, kudos to whomever concieved it, but instead of honoring that idea, you've just pissed on it. find a solution that doesn't suck TH, make everyone happy instead of only a few. it's possible, you guy's just chose not to do it.

Everyone I know who is 4444 pilot has to grind out the 7.5 M xp before they can master. How come imps and neutrals get the luxury of just doing the mission?

Would you care to test out a 400 year old sword to see if it's decayed to condition 0? All the prior testers have no comment. Perhaps a gun which was used in WW I and still fires with high accuracy upto 1km?

If that doesn't get you, then start reading current military specifications for combat equipment.

one less pvp zone ? we only had 2 in the first place , why do you keep making to game soo easy as to become masters ?? dont you realize that once they are masters they will just stop playing JTL ? since there is no content for pve after master anyways , maybe is hard for you to see that there are people out there pvping and its a small amount of people that whine because they dont like it , i second that they should off move the master missions out of kessel instead of making it another pve part ... no pvp swg boring as hell .. keep making it easy ,.. and watch the same whiners that wanted this go away once they are master ,

people are too used to getting stuff handed to them .

good bye swg , this is the last drop that spiled the cup

p.d:its already absurd that there are covert tie fighters and xwings .. lol what a joke has swg becomed

Okay, without the hysterics or the "Screw you for screwing my playstyle!" drama from both sides...

TH-why is making Kessel PvE a more desireable solution than taking an already existing PvE zone in a difficult spot, like Dath. or Yavin or whatever (or three-one for each faction-they've already got POI's don't they?) and making them the master's box places and cranking up missions and spawns there? You have the missions, you have the ships. You crank out some carbon copies of the same, crank up the difficulty on the copiesto whatever's appropriate and you don't really have to make anything new. Why not do that instead of taking away content from PvP'ers? You can ADD content for PvE'ers instead. Cheap content to be sure, but content nonetheless until you devise something better.

JTGAlpha-making kessel a pve zone is 1 character change of code. 1 BYTE.

Moving a mission in JTL is like a quadratic equation for kindergarden students.

Hehe. I love it when people assume they know exactly how the code works. Nonetheless, you arecorrect. The path of least resistance, the easiest solution.

I don't believe it was the more desirable solution. My sincere hope is that this is simply the quickest way to end the griefing and frustrating and anger that is currently occuring in Kessel. And that a more permanent fix will be forthcoming, one that will restore Kessel to a PVP zone while keeping PVP out of the master missions.

Cancelled 7/27/05 - I joined to play Star Wars, not Jedi-BH Wars. You've ignored/gutted/abused just about every other profession in the game, while spending most of your time working on Jedi and BH as they related to Jedi. You've basically killed the game for anyone who doesn't want the glowstick. Congratulations.

It's very disapointing to see these changes coming - Kessel was a very fun place (and no i'm not master, i'm 3333). It was fun because it created the feeling of danger. I can see why you changed it - The vast majority of players in this game can't handle anything that may possibly cause them to lose. They've been pampered by underpowered mobs, and success on a silver platter. As soon as you put something in the game that may actually be dangerous, they all cry out in unison that it's not fair.

I've been taken down in Kessel several times, as well as taken out a few people - it adds to the feeling... everytime a player comes near, you feel like you are in very big trouble... there is nowhere in the game (except deep space now) where this feeling of impending doom surrounds you... i will miss it.

THEN GO OVERT BEFORE YOU TRANSFER TO KESSEL

JTL Overt = I want to PVP

JTL Covert = I do not want to PVP

Correct - you can still play PvP in the zone. Just hit a Faction Space Station and declare...

Of course. You're making the mistake of equating the desire to PvP with skill. I know TONS of extremely skilled flight simmers who have no interest in PvP at all. Granted, most PvPers are skilled pilots, but not all skilled pilots are PvPers. People who PvP need to get off this self-aggrandizing position of "we skilled, you not", because it simply isn't true. Some people just do not like to fight against other players. They'd rather for alongside them.

Do you deny that the MP ships are pretty much worthless in PvP? They're easier to kill than the single player ships cause they're slower, bigger and take almost the same number of hits to kill. They're MUCH more useful for RPing and for cooperative flying. So why make them a reward that's only attainable through PvP?

Falin

No, I'm not making the mistake of equating the desire to PvP with the skill. I know from experience, though, that the AI cannot present anywherenear the challenge of another player. It lacks the capacity to reason, improvise and adapt to a situation constantly in flux.

Facing nothing but AI challenges takes less skill. That' is a fact. Master Pilot just became nothing more than grinding the 7.5m XP required, regardless of whatevertricks SOE attempts to put in. Because the only thing they can add to the challenge from an AI standpoint is:

  1. Greater numbers

  2. Bigger stats

That doesn't require skill to beat. Just add more zergs.
