Heh, that's pretty much what we asked for during beta. We suggested that they should move the missions out of Kessel into another sector, but make them a bit harder. They didn't listen though, that is why the arguing continues.






Well, glad you took the post seriously, but that wasen't the point.


I was just trying to weed out those that just don't like PvP, and the ones that don't want a challenge.


The way I see it, the people that don't want a challenge will whine and moan wether it's pure PvE or PvP because they want profession advancement in spaceto be as easy and meaningless like the ground profs.


And, the ones that don't like PvP simply don't like PvP....for their own personal reasons.



I understand the fact that alot of you think forced PvP, or whatever you want to call it is wrong, but I think their is another meaning behind why you think that way.

Actually, most sectors contain all "three" factions. There seems to be rebels, imperials and a few different "neutral" factions in each sector. But that wouldn't be an issue, since these sectors would have to get Tier 5 spawns for rebels and imps. Dathomir would probably work best.







I did not know that. I still thing some pvp not forced as it is not forced any way.

Everyone have their motives, I suppose. Some might not want the "challenge", some just hate the idea of pvp, some just don't see the point, etc. I've already stated why I think these missions are such a bad idea in countless threads and I'm too tired to repeat them all, sohere is the short version: The missions achieves nothing that can't be done through a PVE mission. A PVE mission wouldn't really offend anyone. There is just no purpose to these missions in their current form.

It would be nice if you could pick which system you liked and it could base the missions off that. Having said that pvp and the gcw are a main part of jtl.


You can not say no its not as the only way to get faction points in space is to go overt, So if you are activly get faction in space you are open to pvp.

As I said before, personally speaking I would love it for the missions to be able to be done in 1 of 2 ways:


- As they are with all the setting and levels they have in a PvP area

- As a harder mission to equalise the difficulty with the PvP area but have the mission done in a PvE area.


This would give me just the chance I want to master the profession withouthaving to participateinsomething that I would rather distance myself from due to not enjoying it in the slightest.

Actually, in case they didn't change it: You didn't even get faction points in Kessel without going Overt first.


Anyway, yes PVP is a part of the GCW and yes the GCW is supposedly a big part of SWG. Still doesn't make this mission right, nor does it explain why freelancer pilots must fight in the GCW too.

They fight for whom ever pays them the most cash that is what freelancer pilots do.


That is true you have to be overt to get faction points in space. I think they did it this way so that it can not be farmed like it can on the ground.


They should do the same for the ground game as well.

On the ground, players have control over PvP. They choose when they wish to do so. Now I have tried the 30 kills mission in kessel 5 times, and each of those times i have been killed by a master imp pilot with only 5 or so kills to go. For me to be forced into PvP just to fight NPCs is totally wrong. A playstyle is being forced uppon someone just so they can get higher in lvl(experiencing the game). I want master for one reason, and one reason alone. I want my multiperson ship. I have no interest in Space PvP. I dont have a yacht because I am not a "veteran". For me to experience all this game has to offer, but to do so I have to be forced into PvP, makes for a very unpleasent game experience. Not to mention being killed by a master imp pilot with only 1 kill to go. I would like to see this changed, or i may very well not purchase JTL for my alt, and i may even start looking for the canel button.

But then if you are doing the rebel/imp theme park on the ground, you get a tef.



Think of it thsi way the pilot profs are like one big theme park but in the end you get something that you can use:




Master pilot .

That's not the same. A TEF is not similar to these free for allPVP zones. It would have been the same if the areas around the themeparks were free for all PVP zones.

Things are too easy due to flawed game mechanics. Things will get harder again after the combat rebalance/revamp/upgrade. Well, if the developers can ever figure it out, that is. Also, I have said this a few times: Having hard missions does not in any way mean that the missions need to be PVP enabled. It works quite well with a good PVE sollution too.

It would be good if player kills counted towards the 30 kills that you had to get.

I know not many people will side with me on this, but i'm used to it. The fact that you have to pvp is a GREAT tool at the end and should be added to some other missions as well. I understand this is a game, and should be fun, but it's also based on the Star Wars universe which is just a giant war constantly going on. In Lore when 10 TIEs attacked a vette, it wouldn't be just 10 TIEs vs a vette, it was a massive battle between TIEs and reb ships you have to remember they're trying to make it as close to lore as possible. In Episode 6 when all the ships are attacking the Deathstar, it wasn't just the Deathstar vs the entire fleet it was THOUSANDS of ships on both sides. You just have to remember that while the game should be fun, that doesn't mean it should be easy. I have WAY more fun when the game gets difficult and I have to actually put skill into it. When my hands are sweating because i've been grabbing my joystick like if I let go i'll die, that's amazingly fun. For the same reason that people always dream of hitting the homerun in the last inning of the world series to bring their team up from behind to win. It's just exciting to be able to overcome the odds, and the bigger the odds, the more excitement. Oh and you're not a dev stop complaining let them do their jobs. Obviously they've asked what players want, and and done research. =) end of story
