Ok, after I was lucky yesterday, bug returned today.
I was in space with a guildmate, and he disabled a ship for me. Even that ship was immobile 30m in front of me,
my laser was going through as if there was nothing! On top if it, my guildmate saw my shipm the enemy, but not
my laser blast. And I saw the energy drain from my capacitor.
Of course the warping has returned in full.
I am wrote 2 tickets and 2 bug reports. Nothing. I hope that CSR someone mentioned really makes them look
here.
I HAVE PROOF IT IS A BUG, MY GUILDMATE HAS WITNESSED IT!!! Please do something, Devs.

I am really surprised that no one recognizes this for what it is:
Net lag caused by server load.
Basically, as I understand it, the server is too busy calculating where everyone in the sector is to update all the clients properly. This is not a bug, per se, this is the consequence of everybody being in space at the same time in the same sectors. Thisissue isalso what produces the "top/bottom invulnerability" bug.
Net lag is not the same as graphics lag. Graphics are mostly handled client-side, so graphics lag has more to do with your video card than anything else. Net lag/server lag has to do with how much of a "pipe" the servers have to send data to the client, and how much processing power they can devote to updating the client.
And then there's the general speed of the Internet itself, the path between your computer and SOE's servers might be congested due to other, non-game related traffic.
I've never seen this "enemy warp" happen in the off-hours. It started happening to me when I was flying in Lok space during prime-time. I'm using a fairly wide cable connection.
This issue will only be alleviated when they somehow shoehorn more hardware into the server centers, and that's trickier than it looks, not to mention expensive.

Starcloud, this is an interesting idea and maybe the cause. However, some points speak against this theory:
1.) Only a few players have that bug, they have it very often or always, while many others - the mayority never has that prob
2.) My Ping, package loss and FPS values are always good and stable
3.) I did could not hit a disabled, totally still ship and my guildmate could not see me fire.
These points make it not so likely it is merely a lag somewhere.
No dev ever asked anything here... I wonder if they even know it.

You make some good points there.
Not being able tokill a "disabled" shipappears to bea bug, but it's not related to the "warping enemies" issue, and I'm not entirely sure that it is a bug. I've had problems killing disabled enemies up close, but once I moved away a bit, I had no problem blowing them to pieces. I suspect the reason you can't kill them up close is so that people don't accidentally blow up a target they're supposed to dock with.
You can have net lag/server lag without having a high ping, low fps, or packet loss. It's happened to me almost on a daily basis... try to /sit in Coronet for a couple minutes,on the outskirts of the city where there are few players and where your ping and fps are fine, then hit /stand and move around. The moment you stop moving, your avatar sits down again, and it takes a couple seconds before your avatar is standing and moving normally. That's netlag/server lag.
I don't know why only a few players have this bug, though. I suspect many possibilities, though, and it could be that there is a bug preventing the servers from communicating properly with clients. I'm just using Occam's Razor here.

Starcloud, I think you some points. And you migh be right.
A couple of things as the poster before said.
I am in groups where my groupmates are from the same town, irl friends of mine and they dont experience this type of lag at all, some do but most dont. The same thing happens to me when I am in this out of sync state, I can not hit disabled targets. My friend and I did a test, he watched me and kept shooting at a targed dead on, hitting it as usuall but no hits registered on the ships shields/armor and so on. My friend said I was shooting way behind it even tho on my screen it was dead on.
After a while I get a small rollback and then i start to hit as normal.
These out of sync sequences seems to come and go in random times.
I do agree it looks alot like server load, but the fact that my groupmembers in the same are shooting the same enemies dont have this at all.
Another thing is that I never experienced this once in beta, and I play from europe so I had much higher ping there. And I also suspect that during beta "prime time" there where more players in space than on farstar 3 oclock in the morning.
I cannot figure out whats the difference between my beta installation and my live installation tho. so that part speaks for the server side problem.
I have disabled the backround download thing, no extra bandwith taking programs in the background and no changes whatsoever to the computer or connectin since beta.
Im truly confuzzled.

I get this all the time (almost) no matter which time of day I log in. Sometimes it's more severe but it's always there (in beta not so much)
Also I really don't like it that NO dev has even mentioned this problem since beta even though there are numerous threads on it all over the boards.

Raz1337 wrote a CSR would bring it to the Devs attention.
Despite the fact that there are numerous similar threads here and in the Tech Support, many have reported
their bugs, we don't see anyone showing up here.
I mean, sorry, but I paid that game and I wanted to play it.
Can you Devs at least post "Hello, we see your prob and work on it." or soemthing??

I stopped playing JTL because of getting shield interaction graphics but not registering the actual damage. Frustrating to say the least, pre-order the game, buy a new joystick just for JTL and not being able to kill a light fighter one on one with a decked out ship. JTL is just cheap(ingame) travel for me in the big boat now.
Pentium 4 2.8 HT
1 gig of PC3200
SATA drives
FX5900XT Golden Sample with 256 DDR
Abit IC7-G
XP Pro with SP2
Cable Modem with little traffic(Ran the company next door off it with 40 users and an Exchange server in an emergency for 2 weeks, users did not notice a difference)
80-100 ping and 20-30 FPS
I ran a full scan before coming to work this morning...will again try and shoot down a newbie ship after work.

I'm still having the problem too, I completely removed jtl and swg from the pc, and reinstalled it from the swg cd's then logged in and updates to jtl without the jtl cd, but also did not help
I don't know what to do anymore, this is just EXTREMELY anoying, just as has been said before, you see the enemy, sometimes moving around like a drunken bee, but even when not, you shoot at it, hit it (shield animation on the target) but no damage done, then once in a while, everything seems to reset positions, and you can actually hit the target for a little while, not long though before your out of sync again :S

I'm having this problem also. Makes it almost impossible to do the tier III missions.
One thing I have noticed on the first tier III mission. Everything was fine until the first wave of enemies warped in. Once that happened it was like watching some dev's crazy vision of "evasive manuevers". That wave eventually disappeared without me killing a single one and all my problems cleared up until the second wave appeared and then BOOM. Couldn't even get the enemy in my sights because of all the crazy warping.

Yes, I was an original poster, and a few days I had no problems, but its back, with a vengence... its as bad as it was in Beta, 2 nights in a row, in Naboo space and Endor space... they're hella warping, 5 mintues warping, 30 seconds of calm...
