The Tef system was removed because of forced PvP but still Jedi are forced to PvP when another player chooses (BH is making the choice to PvP not the jedi)

At no point on the path to becomming a Jedi is there something that says "by continuing you are accepting that you will engage in PvP at anothers choice" or words to that effect.

The questions to be asking at this point in my mind are

1, why, when tef's and forced PvP was removed from all other aspects of the game does it still apply to jedi ? I have said the very same thing a few times lol!

2, why is it not possible to have NPC BH attack jedi that do not want PvP ?(similar thing happens with the Sith attacks and the old man visits) I have said the very same thing a few times lol!

3, Why should any person be forced to participate in PvP regardless of profession ?

the overall aim of what I'm trying to say is that the system is already in place to have a semi random attack on you as a player by NPC's so why not use that and do this.

Have an option where a jedi can agree to have Player BH come after them (tick box in the character window) when if not applied NPC BH will spawn when a players visibility reaches a certain point using the semi random timer currently used in the village parts of the code.

To prevent other players assisting the Jedi against any NPC BH use the same mechanism that BH missions use to lock out other people from attacking the BH mark slightly modified to stop healing as well.

With something like this in effect all sides will be happy with BH and Jedi able to consent to PvP and those jedi who do not want PvP get PvE encounters instead.

I had said this many time's and thought it a good idea, but my time in game is now short. Fed up play Jedi vs Bounty Hunter wars!

Pretty sure using what you call an 'alt' (supposed to be your main) would enable you to:
1. Stay off the terminals (especially for the 3 weeks it takes for vis to go away.)
2. Enjoy all the game content with your friends. I don't play my jedi and I'm able to, why can't you?
3. You can also socialize with this 'alt' (again, the toon thats supposed to be your main) You Jedi toon was supposed to become your alt the minute you unlocked.

I did not spend 9 months on my favorite character to play another. If I wanted that I could just have purchased another account anytime.

Well I guess you should expect anyone to feel sorry for you, since you decide to go against the way they have it set up. Sorry but, 'I don't want to play it that way' is nothing other than you not liking the rules. I put in as much work towards my Jedi, I seem to be able to keep within the rules of how you are expected to play, how are you any different?

Times change and the so calleed rule needs changing and give those that wish to op out the option. Before CU we had nice block after CU 25 at master, and at master light saber we get sod all defenses. Unless we take defender, MsNil has a Jedi support toon, with 0 ranged and 0 melee defenses and this matters in group PVP, but even more so in one on one PVP!

Again, Play your own game. Dont lecture others how they should play. If you like it, dont dwell on the forum and mock thoose who are caught in the system and have to deal with the issues you have been fortunate to be able to avoid.
And did I voluntarily join Publish 19? No, I did not. I did not even get a free respec. It was as "optional" as "We have started to demolish your home to build a railroad, pick up your pieces and leave".

You make absolutely no sense.Im not lecturing anyone on "how they should play" Theres is one system for Jedi and it involves the possibility that you may be hunted by other players.PERIOD!

"caught in a system" and have to deal with issues that i have been able to avoid???????? WTH are you talking about. The system is at its easiest level ever do you really want it easier?Again the overwhelming point it if you are a Jedi you may be hunted. Are some of the newer Jedi so spoiled that they need to have the whiped out too so they can enjoy their experience?Again you have an alt go play it if you dont want to be hunted

Please clarify what your last sentence was in reference to sinc the main issue is once again if you are a Jedi you may need to fight other players. You knew it I knew it and anyone who joined the FS ranks knew it.You can type until your fingers fall off and thats not going to change.Don't compare apples and oranges

well we may be caught in the sytem as it stand but if the majority of the players in this game feel we shouldnt have to be forced to pvp and assuming the devs will listen then we will push to make it happen, nothing anyone can do to stop us from getting our voices heard. I feel that if i want to opt out of pvp then i should be able to. You go do your thing and i wont interfer and let me do my thing and stay away from me. There is nothing you can say or do to force me to think as you do nor should i have to play the way you want me to play.

Too often players and the devs have a mindset that professions should be balanced with 1 on 1 pvp in mind. This mindset is ruining the game. The benchmark for balance should be determined by the role a profession plays in a group setting. As long as the current mindset continues we will never see uniqueness among the professions, nor will we ever see individuality within a given profession. We will never see the SWG universe expanded as the focus will only ever be balance pass after balance pass after balance pass.

Well I have just spent 10 mins reading all of these.

There is a few things that would fix this bigtime,,,

THEY NEED TO SEND THAT EMAIL AGAIN... if this was done this has the answer and the FACTS -- of how it is meant to be and how it will be.

Right now you have to many Dancers that wanted Jedi that are now stuck and having no clue what to do when they unlock.. its showing too bigtime.

This way that emails explains what YOU CHOSE what your going to have to do and deal with.. no questions and no worries.

But you saw the forums long before that and knew what you were getting into.

They should send out the email, and let those that don't want pvp to not be jedi and get their sp's back.

The direct opposite is true. Forced pvp and a pvp rewarding system is what encouraged most of the current Jedi to become one.

Disable pvp 100% from Jedi, and you will see them drop like flies.

hmm jedi pvp disabled = over half of all accounts being cancelled...sounds like a smart move

I think what people are asking for is a choice, just like everybody else in the game!

You have a choice

1) You chose to do Jedi knoing there wsa a BH factor

2) As a Jedi you determine if you gain visibility. That is your choice also. I stayed off the terms through my grind until I was mostly templated (211 sp used) and at that point I conciously decided to use groups (at that time groupes caused vis). So don't tell me it cannot be done

NO what I'm say is some Jedi like BH some don't, ok you want BH fine your choice, give them the right to choose. And where in the Manual does it say a Jedi will have forced PVP. The whole game is not the same one we started playing and infact not the same gamewe became Padawans in! In fact its more like Jedi vs Bount hunter Wars. Forget the Starwars as that title does not really apply anymore.

Before the CU a Jedi was strong and could Roleplay, now Jedi are level'ed off to everybody else and cannot roleplay anymore. Trying to lead the hermit life etc is just not possible now, it takes groups to do stuff in this game now.

Oh and what about the Dev's stating that the Bounty Hunter would be a one vs one and the Bounty hunter had a chance because he could pick his moment to strike. This is compleate and utter tripe and this does not happen, often the BH comes before you and bows and ask's if your ready. This is hardly a supprise attack now is it.

Also the terminals are not randamiseing the Jedi properly and often the same Jedi is plastered on the first 5 pages, I could put up with a few BH, but for some its 5 an hour and like MsNil and many more, myself included ground Jedi to play it and not hide and useour alt's 24/7, otherwiseour whole time to get the Jedi was a pointless waste of our money andtime!

Not without BH crawling up by neitheregions. Read before writing.

Speaking of play your own game:
Last night my group was grinding away, and here comes the happy go lucky BH.

He didn't attack though. He just circled our group for an HOUR, waiting for us to attack and get visibility. We had to sit there and be completely dictated by this retard's agenda. We couldn't get away from him because he had a mission on one of us. THAT is absurd.Report him to a CSR for harrassment.I beleive this qualifies because he is puposely affecting your game play.I think this has been addressed in the past.

I did. We all did. The CSR said "sorry, I canst help thee with that." He was nice, though. Unlike the **edit** BH.

I don't want other people forcing their playstyles on mine, because I don't force mine on theirs. You are a Jedi you chose your play style when you agreed to the join the ranks. Is that really so hard to comprehend?

Yes, it is. Though it became more so the more "ooB3RBH" I had to deal with.

And I'm not going to shut up until there's some kind of a change. There's a very simple fix proposed, I believe MsNil was the originator. No NPC visibility. So one more cry to make the game easier. How about we just make Jedi a profession you can start day one like all of the others?

That's the only way to get the other classes back truly. Jedi on equal level with all the other classes. No other game has an "ultimate" class. I suggested elite level professions - rather than nerfing jedi - on tier difficulty with Jedi - for the other 32 classes. But I'm obviously insane.

Then I'll fade away forever, the BH can go back to their PVP "don't fix teh game I like to screw with other ppl" lives (just this time, it won't be weak padawans, it will be those that really expect your "visit"), and I'll stay in mine.Has nothing to do with screwing with people and everything to do with how the system has always been.Thousands of players have done it but now its broken right?

Hm. I seem to hear quite a few people out there calling for the change too. Guess they don't count. Why is the decision from a team of obviously flawed developers from the stone ages gospel to you? I assume you were perfectly happy with every other decision they made as well, because they are always right?

The TEF system was not removed for that reason. It was removed because it was buggy and the GTEF issues. The BH selects missions, thats all. You determine if you get on the terminals. The choice starts with the Jedi

No the TEF system was removed, because you could be TEF'ed at anytime in the game and this would cause you, to end up fighting a hard core PVP'er

At no point on the path to becomming a Jedi is there something that says "by continuing you are accepting that you will engage in PvP at anothers choice" or words to that effect.

Read the forums stickies, etc and I believe its in the jedi archives that s on the site. ALL professions are only really described in their respective forum

When I started the game, I never even knew there was a forum, nowhere in the manual does it say check the forums!

The questions to be asking at this point in my mind are

1, why, when tef's and forced PvP was removed from all other aspects of the game does it still apply to jedi ?

THe old TEF system was not forced PVP, You chose whether you got a TEF by attacking a factional target

No you could be scanned and TEF'ed, just doing your own thing!

2, why is it not possible to have NPC BH attack jedi that do not want PvP ?(similar thing happens with the Sith attacks and the old man visits)

It is probably possible but I dount they would wnat to do that

3, Why should any person be forced to participate in PvP regardless of profession ?

Because they needed a method to force the Jedi to not be visible and encourage them to keep a low profile. This kind of works now at least when you are grinding. They however gave the Jedi the choice of getting on the terms or not

No it worked before the CU, when you had to grind solo. Now the only way to grind and kill stuff is in a group and so therefore your not hidden are you!

Yes, it is. I suggested elite level professions - rather than nerfing jedi - on tier difficulty with Jedi - for the other 32 classes. But I'm obviously insane. No what would put the other profession back would have been SOE not nerfing crafting because they wanteed to make it "easier"As far as combat professionsand not being able to hang with Jedi obviously your complaint verifies the fact that there are plenty of non Jedi players who can kill us.Instead some choose to stand on the sidelines and scream nerf at Jedi because THEY can't handle fighting one. What would have kept things more in check would have been keeping the older system for Jedi in effect.Including the OLD BH system where they could hunt you by name and easily bring their friends.Unfortunatly it was abused and instead of fixing it they destroyed it to make all of the whiners happy and their lives easier.

I assume you were perfectly happy with every other decision they made as well, because they are always right? How were the original developers flawed in there concept of Jedi being difficult and requiring sacrifice? It's not suppossed to be easy but you want the easy button placed squarely in your lap because suddenly you forgot about the price of being a Jedi in this particular game. The original developers had an incredible system set up where all proffessions needed each other,The current team was thrown together to push out content as quickly and easily as possible and out very little thought into that concept.

I dont ususally call people whiners but this is so silly I can't think of another term. You attitude is exactly whats wrong with so many facets of society.Everyone wants everything NOW,feels that someone owes them something and that the rules should be changed to fit them.Just go to chat sometime when the servers are 5 minutes late coming up and listen to the screams for double xp and respecs. The ONLY reason people cry for that is because they know it will make it easier for them to reach their goals and they want to get there as quickly as they can.Along the fast path you learn very little.Remember its the journey not the destination.

Obviously theres no sense in continuing this since you wont be happy until you have everything your way forgetting the fact that you are in the minority. Please continue to try to change the system and watch the older players come down on you in droves because you think you deserve to have an easier system than they endured. Why do you deserve to have it any easier than we did/do.

I just wish that we would ask for the real issues to be addressed.

  1. Speed bug

  2. Loot drops

  3. Master Healer

  4. Master Powers

When these are done, we will see if any other real problems stil exist.

>>You do realize that if SOE removes forced-pvp they will remove even more of our power. If they intended on bringing back our pearls, they will stop. Since Jedi don't need better pearls if they aren't forced to pvp anymore... SOE might remove forced-pvp and will be happy to be able to nerf the Jedi to a combat level equivalent of 0.1

>>

You got it backwards. That's because Jedi are forced to PVP and BH whined a lot that jedi were nerfed to the teeth to balance them towards BHS.
