Your missing the point. Hes basically saying that if you want the power back that the jedi profession used to have then you should also have some of the risk they used to have as well. With great power comes great risk.

I do not want power. I want a game that is fun to play with my guild, my wife and my friends.

What this "dark side" like post is suggesting is self-mutilation to see who have the strongest endurance and still wish to continue to pay for this entertainment.

Well no flame intended but maybe the jedi profession isn't quite for you. Most of those ideas that he made used to be part of the life of a jedi. The Jedi profession is a world of forced pvp it always has been and always will and if you don't like it then maybe its not for you.

Before they do anything like these they either need to delete all pre-CU sabers and existing pearls or resetthe pearlsto good and let everyone tune again. Finally bring some balance. Let us all get our a$$es handed to us by BH's for a while.

This is basically another "kill any jedi but mine" post. If you throw out all the nonsense after the CU (respeccing, double XP), the older your jedi is, the easier it was to unlock. Jedi has not been made easier. Remember the progression? The first jedi's to unlock had master only a handfull of proffessions. Remember right before publish 9? Everyone desperate to finish grinding all prof's. The village takes several times more XP than grinding every prof and is gated.

Reset the pearls of all the "composite armor" jedi and I am all for any means of natural selection you chose.

perhaps this is true, but this format would make for execlent FRS ideas, i mean full template should be for people who play more casually, but the FRS and post full template should be an endurance test and you should be rewarded for it.

btw if you dont want power why did you go jedi in the first place? i mean i understand if you want to roleplay as a jedibut to me grinding would take away time with my guild and friends.

Jedi should never have been allowed to pvp in the first place. It only attracts posts like this one. All our nerfs comes from pvp players, and I am tired of the selfishness.

Jedi need to hide. That's their role. The visibility system need to be fixed to allow it, and the bh terminals needs to be removed. There needs to be very strong punishments for Jedi who wave their saber around in gcw however.

If you do not want to play a Jedi, you shouldnt have picked a starwars game in the first place.

whats the point of a jedi if you cant interact with other people? this just counteracts your other post about playing with your friends, wife and guild.

After reading through all the replies one thing strikes me. The vision of Jedi here is dark vs. light.

Dark Jedi = Give me power and kill off all those who do not agree with my vision. Make us the rare Alpha destroyers of all who would come against us.

Light Jedi = Carebare. Guardians of Peace. Desires the Jedi to fit into the whole. Powerful yes, but balanced within the system.

I'll take Gizmo's vision over Court-Jester's any day. That is not to say anything about his mental aqcuity because he states his case well. I just disagree with it in very strong terms. I guess that means I'm a light Jedi. Ok carebear. I guess labels like that are supposed to make me feel bad but it doesn't.

Bring on the Light vs. Dark War.

I am a Light Jedi in game. I also tend not to deathblow unless the situation lends itself to requiring it. I rarely pvp with my toon, although that is not to say I don't.

Please don't read more then what is into it. I'm glad you like some of the ideas because we do need to address our power relative to our risks. Its a step, /tiphat.

I don't like the way you would go about this...without looking at what the potential rewards would be it would be blind faith in the DEVs to do the right thing...and we can all agree that they have failed in that realm.

Risk is only part of the problem...If you are looking at this from a dev cycle point of view then I agree this would be one of the cogs to look at...but you cannot just blanket say add in all risk without seeing how the other cogs will work in conjunction with it and address those 6 months or whatever down the road...that is not the proper way to develop.

I did not address pearls/crystals as it is beyond the scope of this thread. This is about risks relative to our rewards. I am not advocating the destruction of Jedi "except for mine" in any way. Please address that rather then put your own caviot's in.

Liked some of the ideas, 6 months cool down is a bit drastic. That is assuming a lot of things, particularly there will be a game or playerbase in that time to support the changes.

Even though it looks like a huge troll post I decided to
unlock it after reading through and noticing that there is still a
small amount of constructive dialogue going on.
