New Jedi Order
We must get back to our origins if we are to survive as a viable and powerful class. Make no mistake, we are on a decline that is being helped along by those within our ranks. It is time to purge those that cannot live up to the high standards we should all hold ourselves to. It is time to begin anew.
We must begin to reinstitute risks back into our profession and we must do it now. Without RISK there is no REWARD.
Outlined below is how we can begin to champion our revival. We must all take one for the team if we ever want to regain our former glory. So, with that said...I propose the following.
_______________________________________________________________________
Instituted Saber Tefs
A. 5 minute timer
B. Anyone of the opposing faction can attack during the duration of the saber tef
- Rebels would be attackable by Imperials and Neutrals
- Imperials would be attackable by Rebels and Neutrals
- Neutrals would be attackable by Rebels and Imperials
C. Groups do not add to visibility (as it is today, however, it would be important to not group with others if they are not of the same faction)
D. What generates a saber tef?
-Any combat action involving force powers
1. Powers
2. Saber
3. Jedi crowd controls (ala debuffs, snares, roots, etc)
-Any non-combat action involving force powers
1. Healing
2. Enhancing
- Any activating/equipping or un-equipping of Jedi items
1. Robes
2. Sabers
3. New Cloaks
Bring back and adjust Cloning penalties and Bounty Hunter death penalties
A. Make it 200k per clone per lvl within Jedi
- 0 skill points to 89 skill points 200k
- 90 skill points to 178 skill points 400k
- 179 kill points to 226 skill points 600k
B. Tier Bounty Hunter Deaths appropriate to Jedi skill lvl
- 1000 per skill point at or below 40 skill points invested
- 2000 per skill point at or below 80 skill points invested
- 3000 per skill point at or below 120 skill points invested
- 4000 per skill point at or below 160 skill points invested
- 5000 per skill point above 161 skill points invested
1. Bring back Terminals showing names
2. Allow grouping to take on Jedi again
Institute skill loss again
A. Make skill loss effect Jedi based on negative experience
- At negative 2 million 1 Box lost (Jedi’s Choice)
- At negative 4 million 1 Box lost (Jedi’s Choice)
- At negative 6 million 1 Box lost (Jedi’s Choice)
- At negative 8 million 1 Box lost (Jedi’s Choice)
- At negative 10 million 1 Box lost (Jedi’s Choice and cap hit)
Experience Caps
A. Adjust positive cap to 10 million
B. Keep negative cap at 10 million

When all of these are instituted, give a 6 month cool down before our power is beefed up. This should begin to shelve and clean out the Jedi population and allow us to regain our former glory. In addition to this, there will be no removal of us from the Galactic Civil War and any additional power doesn’t necessarily need to translate into PvE.
Realize this. Jedi is a PvP based profession. We are meant to be rare and extremely powerful. We are meant to be hunted and feared. Feel free to flame; however, you will just be justifying our own demise. There hasn’t been significant risk in the Jedi profession for quite some time. This is an attempt to get it back.
Whiney Jedi have lead to the downturn of this profession. We are not a PvE centric profession. We are not a ‘weekend warrior’ class. This was never meant to be ground out in a few weekends.
I am open for suggestions to improve this idea and I would highly suggest people think about it before opening their mouth.
Finally, I have thought about this in great depth, however, just because I haven’t written everything down to hand hold the weak minded through my logic, doesn’t mean this is not a viable option. You (and I use that term loosely to define anyone reading this) need to realize that many issues above and beyond these ideas would require far too much attention at this point in time. The purpose of this is to get people back on track and to once again make Jedi the powerhouse that is rare and difficult.
im to lazy to read this. but i saw the dude said about ADK no good for lightsabers,,, HAHAHAHAHA what a moron.. that would suck sense we got no good pearls to repleace them
Dark Jedi = Give me power and kill off all those who do not agree with my vision. Make us the rare Alpha destroyers of all who would come against us.
Light Jedi = Carebare. Guardians of Peace. Desires the Jedi to fit into the whole. Powerful yes, but balanced within the system.
I'll take Gizmo's vision over Court-Jester's any day. That is not to say anything about his mental aqcuity because he states his case well. I just disagree with it in very strong terms. I guess that means I'm a light Jedi. Ok carebear. I guess labels like that are supposed to make me feel bad but it doesn't.
Bring on the Light vs. Dark War.

You are a refugee, not a soldier.
If you want to pvp, use your alt.
Agree.
This original poster suggested:
1. Turn on Super Grief Mode tm
2. Wait Six Months
3. Make More Jedi Powerful
By suggesting #3 you're already admitting Jedi need to be more powerful.
By suggesting #2 you're saying only a certain group of Jedi need this power.
By suggesting #1 the only people in this group are going to be already full template, have a pre-cu saber, or have cloak.
I'll say it again, pre-CU Jedi elitism is so last month. Get over it.

Your missing the point. Hes basically saying that if you want the power back that the jedi profession used to have then you should also have some of the risk they used to have as well. With great power comes great risk.
I do not want power. I want a game that is fun to play with my guild, my wife and my friends.
the anger in your last posts doesn't sound like your having alot of fun.

Jedi should never have been allowed to pvp in the first place. It only attracts posts like this one. All our nerfs comes from pvp players, and I am tired of the selfishness.
Jedi need to hide. That's their role. The visibility system need to be fixed to allow it, and the bh terminals needs to be removed. There needs to be very strong punishments for Jedi who wave their saber around in gcw however.
If you do not want to play a Jedi, you shouldnt have picked a starwars game in the first place.

First off, I'm editing the original post to reflect my (our) second chance at this thread. Thank you V-Man, I really do appreciate it. The intent is not to flame or troll, but to try and get back to our roots. I am not naive enough to think these ideas aren't wildly unpopular, however they need to be looked at and address, possibly even implemented.
Every idea posted IS harsher in nature. With some slight variations on old system dynamics. All of them were thought out based on current xp gains and methods of unlocking. I would like to see constructive feedback on them and maybe even incorporate some of the ideas into this so it can be presented and maybe acted upon.
I am not totally without guilt on the flame issue and at this point forward (at least with this thread) I will curtail my replies to more of a civilized person.

Hm.
So basicly
1. Make me rare and powerful
2. Bring back sabertef
3. Bring back pve xploss and increase it to x3
4. Increase the bountyhunter penalties
5. Implement skilloss
6. Do not give any powers to pve jedi
7. Let me stay in the Galactic Civil War so I can show everybody how powerful I am
Fixes... none...
Improvements... none...
And you post this on the jedi forum?
I wanted to address this particularly. This is relating to Jedi, therefore, it is posted in the Jedi forums, by a long time Jedi, who sees a decline in our profession. The reason for increased costs on cloning and bounty hunter xp loss is simply because it would be easier to manipulate one string of code (ala' xp loss) vs reworking how we gain xp. In this sense, xp gains are fast in the current system. I know from experience that at full template I can gain back the full 452k of lost xp in under 45 mins. By tripling the hit we take it would in effect cause a greater risk to be associated with 1. Cloning and 2. Bounty Hunter deaths.
This would have an adverse effect of curtailing the run in, die, clone mentality in PvP and add more of a sting to Bounty Hunter kills. Thereby, forcing more people to think about their actions rather then seeing what we have today.
I don't see us ever getting the power of perma-death days, and rightfully so. To do so would require that we give up a tremendous amount of risks we all afford ourselves and it just doesn't work with current dynamics of crashes and lag. However, a nice sting would. That sting is the xp loss and ultimately skill loss.
I did not specifically address beefing up our power solely because by doing that, it opens the door for more hate and causes us to get off track. The track specifically to be addressed is increasing our risks. Only then can we arguably confront the devs and propose beefing up our abilities.
Finally, again, please dismiss the arguement of Bounty Hunters at this point in time. Bounty Hunters should not even be brought into this equastion until such time as we have risks that outweight our rewards. The current system is being balanced towards our weakened state and rightfully so.
Bounty Hunters are not the issue. Our risks are.
