that's nice and all... but this game got boring a while back. i thought jedi would be neat, but why? an even more broken profession in an already broken game? i pulled my 1 year tour in SWG, made some killer friends, but the game itself has alot to be desired. the fact they never were working on, and never planned on working on, the combat revamped has caused me to just sorta fade. have fun.

It's not that you're "too lazy to merit a shot at a Jedi" ... you just don't want it bad enough to put the time into it. If you only have 5-8 hours a week to play ... put those into pursuing a jedi. Sure you won't be a jedi until 2006, but how bad do you want it? Oh, I see, having your fun in the game now is more important than your fun in the end. Well enjoy your fun now, but I don't want to hear you complaining when I'm having my fun kickin' your ass and your 19 buddies' in your group.

I definitely did not want it at the expense of following the hologrind path to get there. Wasting time working on a Bounty Hunter or Creature Handler or Architect that I had no interest in playing was not worth the shot at getting to playa Jedi later in the game for me. That making this choice is apparently evidence of some deficiency in my character is patently ludicrous. That I would rather follow a questing path to Jedi which seems to me to be both a fun use of my limited time and makes the end goal of Jedi more palatable is evidently another deficiency in my character.

An apparent deficiency that cannot be accurately ascribed to me is your assumption that I expect the character I am playing to be competitive with your Jedi, or PvP template stacker, or what-have-you. If it would make you feel better to come kill my character a few times, I play Hyro Protagonist on Chilastra. I tend not to accept duels because I know full well I am neither equipped nor set up for competition, but I draw TEFs on a regular basis running faction missions, and you can certainly attack me then. It will not be the first time I have been killed by another player in that regard (in fact, I am currently 0-11 for these encounters), and do not hate /tell nor come running crying to the forums when I die. I do join groups, but usually for quests and player vs. environment play, if we draw a TEF and you come waltzing through the lot of us, good for you.

By the by, I believe that Jedi should definitely be able to defeat almost any single other character in a one-on-one contest. However, if a Jedi were able to run rough-shod through a group of 20 elite master combat-profession characters without a challenge, they had damn well better be a Jedi Master, and not something much lower along the Jedi advancement. By almost, I would like to see it that Master Bounty Hunters have a very difficult, but plausible, means of taking down their Jedi targets on their own merit (within their own skill set) so they might fulfill their proposed role as a potential danger to Jedi.

Wow, you got 3 paragraphs outta 5 lines? Dude, you really need to stop trying to interpret what we're saying and just take it for what's it's worth. Every single one of your assumptions about me is incorrect. I never once in any way indicated that I was assuming you thought your character should be competitive with a jedi. And you did not make it clear in your other posts that you were waiting for the quests because they were more "interesting" to you. You made it seem that you were waiting for them because they are "easier" which I personally don't believe is the case (sidenote). You can't go around knocking hologrinders and expect to get any respect. Every single jedi in the game at this very moment was a hologrinder at one point (or an ebayer of a hologrinder). While you may argue that BH and CH are not interesting (how would you know if you haven't played them), even if they aren't, jedi IS interesting, and if I have to go through a bit of uninteresting stuff to get to the interesting part, then so be it. I hope for your sake that your assumption that the quests will be interesting is more accurate than all your other assumptions in this thread.

And by the way, you're not going to impress me with all your big words. I can still understand what you're saying. So if you're assuming that I am at a lower intellect than you and am lost in your profuse egotistical display of the English language ... you would again be incorrect.

I recommend your own top two sentences there in regards to me. You've decided since I did not want to grind through certain professions that I am looking for the easier way out. Your snide comment concerning taking out me and some 19 others along with me would be where I get the impression concerning character competitiveness.

And my language is not to impress you or anyone else, I write I like I talk.

Excepting that it would appear that I stutter more at the keyboard than is usual in spoken conversation.

This little arguement is turning into the Have and Have Nots. I beleive that everyone should get Jedi no matter how much time you have to invest each night.

I do hope that the quests are easily done in a months time to unlock. Why do I say 1 month, well, it takes an avergae of 2 days to master each combat profession except BH. 1-2 weeks for each Dancer and Musician, and prior to the ID nerf, it took a couple of hours to master that. Couple of hours for Medic/Doctor with a tumbler or Creature Handler. Crafting is a bit tough, ok, maybe 2 months tops with the changes to CH and ID.

For the people who didn't grind out 99999 professions, what do you think we did? That's right, actively participated in our PA and Cities growth, participated in PvP and the GCW (to get bases and turrets and personnel). So you see, not everyone did the grind to keep things moving forward in terms of GCW, PvP, economy, city growth and participation, PA growth and participation (which includes harvesting and resource collecting for crafters).

This is why the profession grind, in my humble opinion, was terrible for getting Jedi. The quest system, or similar, should have been first implemented. That way people could have worked towards it at their own pace and not neglecting their trade skills, combat skills for PvP, or their merchant skills.

This sounds like it's going to be fun. I just have a question for the people testing this, what I heard was, and I know this is just rumor, and probably can't be confirmed or denied right now, is that once you get the second slot it can become FS, but only one can be a Jedi. I'm assuming you get the second slot before you start the padawan trials, and can stop your "main" just at FS then work the second slot up to FS and Jedi.

Is there any possible way we can start a new thread for speculation/discussion? or start another Publish 10 Spoiler thread please? 6 pages of arguing is 6 pages people have to scroll through to find anything relevant to publish 10
Thanks
