Work? No it isnt and DONT try to justify yourreal life lazynessby any means. You are sitting your button a chair for countless hours, trying to master 32 professions by any cost in order to become Jedi, thus neglecting anything else that has to do with real life. In real life you WORK to makea living and to survive. Dont you dare make a comparison between work in life and "work" in the game, because you obviously dont know the difference. Either that, or you are still on allowance money.
Wow, is it just me, or is it entirely WRONG to make assumptions about a person's lifestyle and character whom you've never even met.
Let's compare my life vs my roommates, shall we?
1) I work 36 hours a week on average ... roommate works 50 on average.
2)I play SWG in alot of my freetime ... roommate goes out and gets drunk.
3)I can hike 13 miles up a mountain in 7 hours without being out of breath ... roommate can't make it to his car without being out of breath.
4) I take care of all the bills, mailing, paying on time, etc etc ... roomate hands me a check once a month (usually late)
5) I'm typing on the SWG forums ... roommate is in the hospital because he's got SUPER highblodd-pressure and he's too damn lazy to watch his diet.
You see I play SWG ALOT and work LESS than my roommate, yet somehow I am the more responsible one because I can actually take care of myself in the real world. While he is 8 years older than me, he can't take care of himself because he is too damn lazy to do ANY work outside of his actual job. So your assumption of someone being lazy and having no clue about real life, or neglecting real life just because they spend alot of their free time playing a computer game is completely false. Thank you and have a nice day.
Oh and btw, that hike up the mountain I did 4 days ago with my 63 yr old father who lives 6 hours away from me. So somehow in all my countless lazy hours playing SWG, I still am somehow able to spend quality time with those I care about. My question to you and the previous person whom I addressed is ... Do I need to start posting lessons on time management? It appears that I am not the one having an issue with it.

People who unlocked after Publish 9 are a minority &they are happpy having their jedi or the option to be one. WHO CARES.
The most important thing here is, what happens with people who arentJedi neither FS and want to become one. Badly. Thats where all the focus should be FIRST. The rest can follow later.

So is this a 100% YES that our current Jedi slot will be the character slot that gets the conversion? Or will it be our Main slot? Is it safe to level my Main slot to a full Regular Skills template without worrying about having to drop any skills for Jedi skills after Publish 9?
If you already have an existing Jedi character, your existing JEDI slot will remain the Jedi slot and your main character will remain as it is. So yes, you may continue to level your main any way you wish. Will my Main slot be FS? Or will I have to redo all the quests if I want him to be Force Enhanced too?
Yes, you're main slot will be force sensitive, but it will be at a Padawan level with all of your original skills intact. You may choose to develop your Main Slot up through Jedi Knight. If you develop this main character up through Jedi Knight, you will have to sacrifice your regular professions. If you want to develop your second slot as your Jedi Knight, you may choose to do all of the Force Sensitive Quests over again thereby unlocking the slot. By completing the Force Sensitive quests you can make your second slot Force Sensitive also. You may even choose to develop your second slot as a full status Jedi knight. You may even choose to develop both of your slots as Jedi if you wish. There are many possible combinations, but because there is a quest based system in place now, your main slot must be the starting point of Jedi character development after Publish 10.You need to read between the lines, but if your opened, the pre patch 9 people will be able to have 2 jedi. and the post patch 10 will be at padawan. all new jedi's post patch 10 are jedi mains.its not written in stone, because sony can change at there will of course.
I went thru the Pub 9 Jedi conversion. Because you are required to vest 24 points in order to get to Padawan they WILL have to remove all your current skills. BUT they give you an option to re-vest into anything you want. Not XP required.. Want to be a Master Medic? click click click.. TKA? click click click.. The reason being is that you HAVE to vest 24 points (6 Lines in force Sensativity.. www.padawan.org). They have no idea what boxes to drop for you so they will most likely drop them all. They will just re-use the Pub 9 conversion code and tweak it a bit.

As you can read, he said he did infact "unlock" after pub9, meaning he's in limbo like most of the other people. anyone that didn't grind out professions to unlock and is going to have go to through the new quest is SOL. far as i'm concerned, they didn't want to waste time before or couldn't, why should they be handed what everyone else worked VERY hard for?
...
People that are currently grinding and working for it like me, on my 31st and 32nd professions, we either unlock or we get kicked in the ass with the new quest we don't know, but i know for one thing i'm not stopping my grind until i see my message.
Re: comments
You didn't work for anything, fellow. You were sitting in front of your computer playing a game. I understand what you are getting at: that your time investment is important to you. But to pass off your choices in time management as the worthier path, than that of the person who only has 5-8 hours a week to play a computer game must be too lazy to merit a shot at a Jedi is almost patently ludicrous enough to keep from being insulting.
Well then, prepare to feel insulted, 'cause I had my 5 to 8 hours a week as well, and I unlocked my jedi slot. You want to know why? Because I made sacrifices - which is exactly what the old system was designed to do: Weed out those unwilling to do whatever it took, regardless of what it took, to unlock their slot.
If you think for a moment that we were playing a "game", that it WASTN'T work - or that any moment of it was a walk in the partkthen you're out of touch with reality.
Me? I have family that is still angry with me that I play this game now. Not immediate family that lives with me (I live alone). I mean relatives that were offended that I choose to take so much time out to "have fun" before the deadline hit.
I have friends that stopped calling because I effectively took 3 months out and spent it working my job, and then going home and working toward jedi. Don't you dare try to write off my sacrifices just because you weren't willing to get the job done. This patch is a GIFT to all the people too lazy to get it done the first time, and no matter how long it takes, no matter what kind of roadblocks they put in, it will be 10 times easier to do simply because its here to stay - and you can pick it up and walk away from it whenever you wish to. No commitment required.
Lets get something straight. Right now the people deserving have either unlocked or are close to unlocking now - they made that commitment. You're a naysayer shouting from the sidelines. Nothing more.

Whine Whine Whine, thats all i've heard from you anyways, tons of people that DO work, real life or whereever else have unlocked. why don't you stop your petty assuming on something you don't know? hm? You can master about any combat profession with 4-5hours of your time everyday, or you can go and do something else, thats your choice. If someone puts more time into it thats there, your i don't want to put time into it because i'd rather do this insted of that, means jack and **edit**. Your 1hour does not equal someone elses 500 hours. It never will, plain and simple, so spare yourself some time and go away with your preaching.
You, and many like you, are the ones who have taken to preaching with nigh on holiness regard to your efforts in obtaining the Jedi, and what powers you think they should have based on what it took to get there. And I did say in my post that I entirely understand your concerns regarding the time and effort put into obtaining your Jedi slot.
Neither at any point was I advocating that the new system be easier, or less time consuming, which is the apparent feeling many have regarding the new Jedi revamp.
What I have taken exception to is:
(1) The assumption that anyone who is not putting in 4-5 hours a day on a game is necessarily lazy and has no business heading towards Jedi. Whos preaching to whom?
(2) The hologrind system was execrable and flawed in many ways. That the system is changing is good. Jedi themselves, as you and many others have pointed out, are a grind to develop unto themselves and well away more difficult than any of the professions that you may have mastered before becoming a Jedi. Good, that is as it should be. It may be that the new system gets people to the point of being Force Sensitive more quickly (or not). There is still a long path, andlooking to get longer to get to Jedi. That someone ground through 5 or 15 or 25 professions to get to Jedi beforehand had no reflection on the eventual Jedi character, and nor should the new questing system. Difference here is that before with the hologrind, you were awarded a second character slot on the same server on unlock: now it looks like someone has to go further for that slot. Better or worse still, depending on your point of view, it currently appears that the visitation from the Stranger is a random event; just qualifying is not enough to become force sensitive and train to become a Jedi. If that remains or proves to become true, then the Hologrinders if anything had it easier... the path was assinine, but guaranteed.
For a last comment, I do not expect my 4-5 hours to count more or less than anyone else's. If I was concerned that 100 hours it takes me to advance a character will take me close to three months realtime while for another it may be a week or less, I wouldn't consent to pay into the game each month. I know I'm getting less for my money than another person, because of my own time constraints. But to call it laziness that Ionly putless time a week into developing a character than another person is assinine.
