one of the problems with this... every single risk reduction for jedi = less power, saber tef and skill loss went, power went down, group vis gone, more power gone, this implemented we have no reason to be 1.5, not that we are now, but this would make jedi a major target for more nerfs.

When i started going for jedi i was promised more power but more risks, why do all these people want this proffession carebeared to death?

I think you have it backwards. The number of Jedi drive the reduction of power not the amout of risk. The amount of risk is driven down by the reduction in power. Since there is very little they can actually do about the number of Jedi witout damaing the subscription rate in the game I don't see that trend changing.

the saber tef, skill loss would make jedi less visible and make getting to full temp and maintaining it harder. it would also discourage alot of people from trying to get jedi.

a jedi should not be your main, but your alt, it shouldnt be the character you spend most of your time on.

People who are discouraged from getting Jedi if they want to get it quit the game. THey stop paying their $15 a month. They tell their friends to not bother buying the game becasue they couldnt' be a Jedi.

Frustrating people playign Jedi in this game means one thing..less money in SOE/LA's accounts. That is a bad thing for anyone who likes playing this game because those guys aren't in this for the free Mountain Dew

I do not see the connection between factiongrinding and Jedi.
If you want to factiongrind, bring something without a forcebar and build a nice macro.
While there's a point about stormies "reporting", Rebels should never have caused visibility ever... that's just... stupid.

Why wouldn't the Rebelion report an imperial jedi??

Becouse Jedi is not outlawed by the rebellion nor the old republic, nor the new republic, and finally I doubt there's any rebel who would go through with the fuzz of getting hold of Vader to report a Jedi sighting.

For 3 years I have tried to find excuses to stay in game but only the expansions offered me what I subscribed for in the first place: A multiplayer Star Wars pve experience with friends around the globe. I found friends but with almost no addition of pve content they dropped out one by one. Now it's my turn.

Although my views on Jedi an Visibility are well known, I see your point. The problem comes from jedi wanting to stay off the boards while grinding faction. In your suggestion, that would mean that anyone would be able to run amok killing stormies and rebel troopers at will without ever having to worry about visibility. Faction bases, both player and static, would become "grind central" and would be exploited horribly.

The two possible fixes for this would be:

  1. Disable experience and visibility in Kashyyk.
  2. Remove or reduce visibility gained from non-factional npc's, while doubling faction visibility.

Saber Tef = yes

Means of prolonging or causing grind = no

Only SoE think grind is a game.

Jedi is your main. Punishments dont help, only rewards. True obedience comes from respect, not from fear.

If I like playing a pikeman but I hate a certain special or a certain bug I am going to speak out about it. If the majority doesnt support my issue or the issue can't be changed because it would be game breaking then I can either get used to it or quit but that is a dangerous position for the Devs to take because the number of Jedi who don't like pvp is growing every day. You might be happy with them quitting the game. SOE and LA might have other ideas about that.

So...let's take this a step further. You joined the military, you knew the risks, and now you are MOSQ'ed and deployable to Iraq...but instead you decide that you want the beret and not the war..you just want to stay stateside and collect your paycheck and GI-Bill. You say, " I never asked for there to be a war, so therefore why should I be forced to go". Guess what, Sunshine, I am your Drill Sgt. and I am saying that you're going. You have two choices, at this moment: Go and serve as you swore to, or go awol and be branded a deserter.

You chose to serve, you chose to have pvp be part of your life. Don't come crying to us.

Wow, they pay you to play Jedi in the game now? And put you through college? Because, I sure didn't pay $15 a month to be in the military, they payed me.

When I am paid to play this game and I take an oath to play it a certain way your analogy will work until then it's a straw man argument. This is a game that I play for entertainment. If I am not entertained I quit playing and I quit sending in my money. If LA/SOE wants my money they will make changes to make the game more enjoyable to me. Now you and I might have different opinions about how the game should be played. They might have to make a choice about which of us they want to keep. Who do they choose? They choose the best way to keep the most accounts. In your face "Deal with it" is an attitude that you can espouse but the people trying to pay the bills in Austin, TX don't have that luxury.

Well great..give me a way to dispose of the bodies and I'll be all over it. While you are at it explain why me slaughtering half the pickets on Dantooine doesn't seem to attract any attention. (I know you want any use of force to alert the Emperor's Spidey sense but that is a different conversation)

If your gonna go this far then lets just go back to the old population we were in at patch 6 -- (you know all the jedi and such)..lol

I mean this is a 2 year old same crap different day convo --- Hell, when we were rare people were mad we were rare ... then it started getting bad and people wanted us rare lol...

The best thing about this is this: CHOICE... if you dont like the class of Jedi or it's to much for you --- then that cancel or different toon is just a click away... I suggest people start using this instead of crying for Nerfs on each other because this is nothing more then that... asking for less power and make us no stronger then a Nuna or Dancer... so please stop asking to make my once beloved class even worse then you could have already made it.

Again, people are asking what happend to Jedi --- well , here you have it , 50% of it was newer unlockers... Man JemyM would be proud of you guys lol , he has quit I think since but still.....lol kinda sad this is even a topic.

I agree with this complete. I've even been tossing this idea around in my head for a while now. It makes a lot of sense and will finally make the statement "don't want to be hunted? stay off the terms" hold actual water. I would love to stay off the terminals, but I can't conceive the idea of avoiding all the fun content that involves npcs. I would, however, love to keep myself hidden from other players and have them not know what I really am

I agree with the OP. Although I do not mind being hunted by BH's, but it would be nice to have the option to stay off the terminals, but the only way to do that is to not play the game. Yes, a Jedi cangrind pickets and not gain visibility and cankill any creature out in the wild and not geton the terms, but the minute they start participating inany of the quests such as Necrosis or get agro'd by any NPC such as Nightsisters etc, they are on the terminals. So from that point on, anytime they go toCoronet or Eisley they have to keep the disco lightshow macros running for protection of being attacked.

With no visibility from non-static city or factional NPC's..Jedicould hunt out of the public view and when they need to makea trip into Coronet they could store their sabers andwould have no need to be a walking light show. I knew that when I unlocked Jedi that I would have to fight BH's and I absolutely have no problem with that. I primarily PVE with my Jedi killing Krayts, Necrosis, Gorax or assist friends with various missions or quests.

It is doubtful that any changes will be made, and that is fine with me. I have no problems with the current system, but I read so many people complaining about there is too many Jedi, bring back perma-death, bring back saber TEF...etc. The OP is suggesting a viable solution that will allow Jedi players to be more "in hiding".

Anyway....just my .000002 cents.
