I for one think this is one of the most unbalanced systems in the game as far as the jedi profession goes and should be completely revamped how sabers are built and the DPS is determined. If I was sitting on a pre-CU saber with an ADK I would be keeping to myself and hoping they never fix it. But alas I am not, my saber has a DPS of 399 and has been that way for months thanks to the poor number of pearls drops, the poor way they tune, and the poor economy of this game. Maybe it's called bad luck, maybe it's called bad development. There are many wonderful things about SWG, this is not one of them.
63 "Good" Pearls tuned since CU -> Best got +110 damage, -4 FC, second best got +70 -4
"Lol" ?
And the other 61 pearls got stats from 20 damage, -1 FC to 50 damage, -4FC...

I tuned a flawless pearl to 50 damage and -3 FC.
While we finally got a detail answear that most of already knew, we failed to get a solution.
non-jedi can get high end quest rewards weapons, high end loot to craft high damage weapons, They can slice their weapons and put a pup on them.
Jedi used to have premium/flawless pearls now we don't.
The quality pearls/crystals tune rate is abismal compared to the loot rate of non-jedi weapon componets or the pup that can be crafted.
The drop rate of quality pearls/crystals is also exceeding low given the poor tune rate considering you may need more then 100 tunes before you get 1 good tune.
So the solution is to either up the drop rate on quality or below pearls/crystals or have ancient Krayts drop at least premiums.
You all need to fix the Sac cost on pearls/crystals since this puts jedi at a huge disadvantage to BH. Most BH can easily get weapons with sac below 70 while a jedi bottoms out at 98 max at the sacrafice of damage.
So something more then a detail explanation and well see you next year is needed.
(And for the record I'm a pre-cu jedi with a pre-cu saber and I think it's a crime that post cu jedi are locked out of good sabers just because the devs forgot to revamp the loot tables in the cu.)

The only advantage a "premium" pearl gives you is a better chance of getting higher stats. "Fixing pearls" would be a matter of changing the level ranges for different quality pearls. This would be a retroactive change which would suddenly change all the pearls in the game to be high-level pearls, increasing the power of Jedi globally and almost instantly - Unless we simultaneously lowered the advantage of premium pearls so that they don't give as much an increase to the odds of getting higher stats as they do now.We would rather keep the premium pearls as they are - highly desirable and much better (in terms of the odds of getting higher stats) than normal pearls, but not drop them as casually as they dropped in the past. These should be rare, elite quest rewards and very high-end, elite-monster drops - not things that players "farm" from creatures that are no match for the player.
This ia a problem actually two Tiggs. This problem which many to still be a problem. Is now just being responded to by the community after what almost months of paying customers bugging it and putting it on every bug list you have made over the past 4 months. I sense a huge lack of communication between us the paying player and you the go between to SOE. In the beginning of the year I really had hopes that things were going to get better. And for a time it really did look likt that was happening. But over the past few months thnigs have almost completely fallen apart.
Please work on customer satisfaction
Please work on customer communication
Please work on customer appreciation.
Things would be so much better and hey who knows maybe we could compete with that other game that just surpassed FOUR MILLION paying customers in just 1 year of release.

guess my prem was a little better then 55dam -4 fc
Just goes to show how screwed up the system is.

hmm well i guess adding components to make tons perfect ranged weapons which are waaay more powerful than any lightsaber via the BH loot was different?

Tiggs,
Can you please ask the developer who designed Jedi for balance (Blixtev) the following question and we are looking for answers...
"Does Lightsaber and Jedi weapon power calculated as "4 x 120 damage 4x-0.3 speed, 4x-9" pearls or not? if so, that is calculated thinking all Jedi can have closer stats like any T21 or any other weapon have closer stats and much more better with "slice" qualities?"
Currently except old Jedi who already farmed these creatures, noone has close to Lightsaber stats that is "expected" for AVARAGE-BALANCED Jedi in developers eyes.
"We don't know how to fix seeker droids on Kashyyyk premium drops, so we're going to leave it broken and spin it as a game feature -- it should be extremely challenging to find your mark get top pearls and actually play your profession."
I'm not normally a negative person, but the dev's exacerbation of theseemingly very deliberate and incitefuldivision of the "haves" and "have nots" within the Jedi profession leaves no doubt as to why the profession is tearing it's own entrails out.
Tell me please, Tiggs, anyone... without decent sabers with decent pearls in them, pray tell how exactly are we supposed to kill these future high-end elite-level mobs to get the pearls that will allow us to have a saber that we can use tokill high-end elite-level mobs?

Exactly what I was going to type.
Sorry Tiggs if we are in a "Shoot the messanger" attitude, but unless the people in charge, who thought this was a good idea (+ all other Jedi nerfs) start posting instead of you so we can understand their (flawed) logic, we will continue to quote you and show you how wrong and stupid that statement is.
Man I wish there was more open communication between players and developers, so they understand, WE DONT NEED THESE KIND OF CHANGES.
Do one thing right for the first time for the love of god/allah/buddah/extraterrestials.

This is nothing but horse ****. Sorry Tiggs, but that explanation for Premium and Flawless pearls is just that.
Why would a player who has a saber that is almost perfect say that? Well simply the pearls and crystals that go into a LS is the only weapon a Jedi should be using. Why should we be using an Advance Laser Riflewith 1200+ PuP'ddamage? Why should we be using an Elite Carbine PuP'd to 1100+? Why would a Jedi use any non-cert weapon out there that makes the LS look like a bad pistol some WS screwed up on? Hell as I gain more and more speed and accuracy CA's and AA's for my BH I'm seeing DPS on many of my weapons wellover 800 now.
Bac, this is a crappy explaination. Our LS should be the only weapon we have to rely on and yet my BH can deal more damage and just as quick if not faster than my Jedi with Doc buffs. Hell I can do more specials than my Jedi with the exact same foods. I've solo'd almost everything from a Krayt to a Jedi Sentinel with my BH.
Whew. So glad this change came in.
I mean there I was killing an Elite mark in 5 minutes with a BH and getting these uber loots that make Krayt Tissues look remarkably stupid by comparison to make maxxed out Ranged Weapons that blow away Lightsabers and thinking "its a good thing Krayts don't drop premium pearls anymore".
/sarcasm off
Sorry, the logic is completely and utterly flawed.
I can make a 1200 damage ALR with a low SAC in 30 minutes in game, strap on 8100 Energy Armor ADKed with Armor Break slices and whip out a Heal Droid to allow my CM ability to heal 1500 or more per heal but Jedi aren't allowed to make good sabers to fight me?

So let me make sure I understand this, all those Jedi that endured the combat upgrade as a fresh padawan, the hords of respec bh's, the solo nerfing/forced grouping with no repreive from visability, the targeted griefing from all the respec bh's looking for the low lvl and weak jedi, are now yet again faced with another perpetual inferiority. I recall those crazy pearl loot drop days, and I remember all the dang kill stealing by the riflemen and jedi, andfor those of us that did notengage in the hate and conflict overflowing on Tatooine for chances at premium and flawless pearls, for those of us that took step backexercised patience waiting for our turn, for our fair shot and now for our patience and efforts for goodwill we are rewarded once again with......you guessed it NOTHING! I don't recall seeing the warning either that you better grab your premium and flawless pearls now cause they'll will soonbe so rare that the entire community is certain they never drop anymore. Yet for those that did horde the pearls others be damned, they are rewarded with the best jedi weapons in the game. Thank you for making all the hard work, worth while, and rewarding those with common decency. The FRS future is looking very bright for those of us without flawless pearls, no?
