Yes it is.


Why?

- Use something as intended (eat food supposed to produce an effect written black on white in game).

It doesn't work? Submit a bug report.
- Use another food then unequip/equip your weapon to get the new food giving you a boost is NOT a way developers expect players to play (unless they aren't thinking like humans).
Having this kind of "workaround" can lead you to get a +100 boost defense instead of a +70 boost defense planned in foodslimitations. IT IS EXPLOITING.

I don't hink you get it, man. This bug is about more than just foods. EVERY combat class that has ranged OR melee defense -- which is basically all of the combat professions -- are effected by this bug. ALL RANGED OR MELEE DEFENSE MODS ARE BROKEN. It's not an exploit, it's a HUGE problem and when its fixed, it will result in a massive shake up of all the professions. BH/Rifleman will not longer by For The Moment. Why? Because they have high ranged defense while Pisoloeers have a balance on ranged and melee defense. What will happen to riflemen when their high defense drops to low defense against melee? ALL the professions are not balanced right now.


You clearly don't understand the scope of the problem if you think its an exploit. If its an exploit, then anyone with ranged or melee defense mods from skill trees is exploiting, including you.

just tested it


im a xx3x defender atm


45 ranged and 50 melee def with no ca/rings etc on


combat vs a CL76 unsoris soldier



no buffs active


holding a saber - hit for 220


holding a pistol - hit for 222



SO it seems my ranged def mods are used when im hit holding a ranged weapon



vegeparsine +102 melee def active


holding a saber - hit for 198


holding a pistol - hit for 222


conclusion - vegerparsine is also a Defence with a melee weapon mod



thundercloud +95 ranged defence active only


holding a saber - hit for 220


holding a pistol - hit for 202


conclusion - thundercloud is also a Defence with a ranged weapon mod



Overall - all defence mods now seem to be defence WITH mods and the x4xx line of defender (ranged def mods) do nothing when you hold your saber

I did some testing


Piket hits me with no states for 90 dmg with LS equiped with my 120 melee def + aura.


Same pikets hits me with no states for 88 dmg with Trando gun with my 140 ranged def + aura


I have no rifle def mods.


if this is a bug no worries...


it'll get fixed in 2 years.

- I support anyone who stands against the implementation of the NGE

additional info - it seems


1) mods not applied until you re-equip your weapon


2) even once the food expires - mods are not removed until you change weapons again!!!!!

is your ranged def like +5 over your melee defence? aakunan rings perhaps?

is your ranged def like +5 over your melee defence? aakunan rings perhaps?






Well melee is 120 ranged is 140 it's all from defender skill mods, with no CAs or other skill modifying stuff like BE clothing on.

So my melee def is lower --> i get higher dmg when using melee weapon

Would be interesting to get some hard figures of defenses from all professions especially the MCM/MBH Pistoleer 0004 & MBM/MCM Carbineer 0400

they are all fairly well balanced with each other - either way defence mods dont concern us on our pvp enemies as jedi - our sabers small damage range means they will harld effect the damage we do even if they had like 1000 defence

to summerise guys


as a jedi - if your gonna use your saber - eat vegeparsene then de equip and re equip your saber - and youll get +100 def vs everything - DONT use the drink thundercloud - will do nothing for you


as long as you leave your saber equipped - the bonus will stay - even if the food times out! (testing just how long this works for atm - and im not sure about shuttling/aura etc and its effect on this "bug")

Yup. it is an interesting excercise to look at though. It explains to me why my rifleman can tank very effectively. So essentially EVERY Jedi skill tree is broken. ROFL. Some worse then others granted, but the profession as a whole is completely hosed. WOOHOO!!!! Every skill tree has at least one completely useless, broken, wasted line, amazing simply amazing. Well, Ranger, SL, and smugglers are receiving/have received their revamps, WHERE THE HECK IS OURS?

Well, this is what I kinda thought / feared after I heard the mods like "Pistol Defense" only work when holding a pistol.


Uugghh... this is not good for business at all for 0400 def.

OK, so what I get from this is this:


Hold a saber or nothing, get the benefit from Vegesaprine but not Thundercloud. And you get no ranged defense from the Master Defender or any other Jedi (or normal) Defense trees.


Hold a gun and you get benefit from Thundercloud but not Vegesparine. But you still get your melee defenses from Master Defender or any other Jedi (or normal) Defense trees.


Is this correct? Does this mean all ranged attackers have been hitting us harder for a while? Which Publish did this bug start?

By "everything," do you mean melee AND ranged attacks?
