Hmm good question, didn't think of that.

Although it couldn't hurt *to* wear them, not like we are given a huge choice of modded stat rings to choose from. Sigh.

If I am gettign this correctly:


If I am wearing my LS only my melee defenses will come into check whether not I am getting hit by range or melee because I am holding a MELEE weapon


What about this talk about unequiping, eating food, then re-equiping my LS? What does that do?


If this is true this makes 0400 defender useless except for innate armor?

In Game modificators definitions:

Melee Defense: This mod improves your defenses against melee attacks.

Ranged Defense: This mod improves your defenses againstranged attacks.


Reality of Facts (showingthe bugs):


Melee Defense: This modreduce damage takenby "melee-weapon equipped" fighters.

Ranged Defense: This modreduce damage takenby "melee-weapon equipped" fighters.


Jedi Master Force Defense gives:

235 melee defense -> working againstALL attacks * it's a BUG*

215 ranged defense ->not workingunless you equip a ranged weapon (a Jedi does not use a ranged weapon) * it's a BUG*


Why? Because the game is BUGGED and NOT WORKING AS INTENTED of course!

Am I angry? No. But fix the source code (should be pretty easy).

Well, it should have been easy to spot this, too. But apparently all the devs and all of us didn't for months, lol.

just tell me then, why the hell Mdef has and ranged def in it all all then? when the heck does a JEdi use a gun? TAlk about a stealth nerf. Now i gotta go rethink all my foods and template... AGAIN!!

Uhhh . . . actually, I use a gun when I wanna stay away from the fray and still get my licks in. I can use a gun from 60m away, but I have to be 32m away to use the Force.


And I see real advantages to a Master Powers/MDef using a gun - until they nerf this, lol.

Also to note this BUG goes for ALL FIGHTER PROFESSIONS !


- Melee fighters get some ranged defense bonuses that are useless for them.

- Ranged fighters get someMelee defense bonuses that are useless for them.


- Don't tell me "it's working as intended".

- It's not working as intended.


- The bugs force us to exploit game bugs to get foods "kind of working".

- Are players intended to exploit?

- They are forbidden to.

- Fix the game.

- Thanks!

quite simply SOE did a really shabby job makeing the CU, this combined with the speed bugs and all the other codeing errors is just a joke, i mean i can understand when a game is unbalanced or when it has a bug in new non-critical content like an added quest, but seriously what kind of MMORPG has broken defense and offense modifers....this makes me even more dissapointed with SOE now.

Lol, I think with this big of a screw up, you can't help but exploit. I mean, I can't figure out what to do to avoid it!

First, yes, I would rather that the developers fix a fundamental flaw in gameplay than work on an add-on like the Force Ranking System.


Second, according to reports, this is a *recent* change. Last week or the week before, apparently, everything was working normally; Ranged Defense would be used when you were getting shot at, and melee defense would be used when you were being hit by fists, swords, and other melee weapons.


Today, we get the testing that shows it's *not* working normally.


Something got changed in the last Hotfix. Something fundamental. And no one in QA found it before it went Live.


If it's deliberate, no one on the development team bothered to tell anyone, or put it in the patch notes.


I think it's time to find the developer who keeps 'simplifying' code and fire him, no matter who he might be.

Yes it is.


Why?

- Use something as intended (eat food supposed to produce an effect written black on white in game).

It doesn't work? Submit a bug report.
- Use another food then unequip/equip your weapon to get the new food giving you a boost is NOT a way developers expect players to play (unless they aren't thinking like humans).
Having this kind of "workaround" can lead you to get a +100 boost defense instead of a +70 boost defense planned in foodslimitations. IT IS EXPLOITING.

Lol, my head's spinning. This is so screwed up that I don't know what to eat or drink, whether to hold a weapon or not. How can you ban or report someone for this almighty screwed up colossal developer mistake? 90% of the folks reading this probably can't figure out what the heck is happening.

Hey, of course it was implicit but I think that if doing this is exploiting, SOE is even more exploiting 15€ per month from us all.
