Thread: Experienced Jedi against snare.
patience my arse if we set for this garbage theyll ram it where the sun dont shine like they have every other insanely stupid idea that they think will work great.
they are completely clueless and out of touch with the game as it is played, they still try to muscle changes that are overbearing and unwanted into existance rather then read and listen to those that
KNOW how the game is played.
what little sliver of respect i had for anyone associated wioth soe,has vanished with my suscriptions
i leave them to theyre fate........finding a new line of work cause obviously they havent grasped what they do now very well.
in no other it venue would these folks be considered even compitent let alone quality personel.
rant mode off
i vote with my wallet let them be responsible for theyre own stupidity,or be sheep and pay them.

you guys do realize that this nerf on heal is for CM as well? Every BH i have come acrross has healed much more than i have, so i think this is going to have much more affect on them. the CM/BH that we have seen will slowly disappear
SInce when i do need to care about my mind/heal abillitys when i smack you around from 80m ?
Incase you didnt know: Heals are needed when something is HITTING you. Come...come bad meleetoon...hit me..muaahhhaa
JEEZ ! Make it easy:
This is ULTRA BS and will ruin the last bit of fun.
Like some1 said "I still have fun in SWG"...yeah....but i think its a bit expensive for a "fancy chatclient"

What idiocy is that ?
I dont need to get a licence to tell you/me/any1 what is good and what is bad.
This is bad.
Are you only complaining abuot your broken brakes in your car when you are able to build one yourself ?
Get real sporty...
Sounds like some wierd dark jedi speech.

then YOU do have a problem.... the rest of us that adapt DO NOT!!!
The old Pikeman correspondant was fairly aggressive. I do not know about Antares Kauri though. He's often a "Everything is Fine" kind of guy.

Maybe he agrees with some of the people saying it's too early to be sure what SOE will do. Of course, that's the ONLY time you can POSSIBLY make a difference ... once the changes are nailed down, it's too late.
Not to be rude, but I think some of the people posting that this isn't much of a problem have forgotten the point of my original post.
You say there are ways, adapt; its not a problem.... the question I asked was How (and everyone get cloak isn't a solution), what exactly will you do?
The only answer I have seen to this question is use LOS, on the only planets I have been attacked on Dant/Lok/Tat (besides once in the DWB, but that was easy) there is no LOS significant enough to give decent protection in the wilderness, and they do not need to make a rotation around you, they can simply move parrelel because most obstuctions are geographic features that run along the ground in a semi straight line, unless you find a harv or something handy to play merry-go-round with.

I'd like to know the answer to the above, too. So far I've seen the following answers within various threads (including this one):
1. Apply your own snare to your attacker, and then the odds will be even.
Response: Still haven't seen a way to close the Range Gap from my 32m to their 65-80m, since /burstrun and /forcerun will have no effect post-ToOW.
2. Exploit line-of-sight to your advantage. Use the terrain or objects such as harvesters. If you are close to the LOS obstacle, circle around it. Your attacker 65-80m out must travel more distance due to the basic geometry of the situation.
Response: This is a good idea and I'll keep it in mind. One problem I see is my attacker can /burstrun (or /forcerun if he's a Jedi) to traverse his radius faster while I'm snared at 1/2 to 1/4 speed. Another problem is I'm hosed if there is no LOS obstacle to explo---- er, use to my advantage. The good news is that my attacker's /burstrun eventually runs out, so if I can keep myself healed while doing this maybe it'll work.
3. A new Chef drink is being introduced in Publish 24. Initial reports indicate this new "Rancor Aid" drink will provide some snare mitigation.
Response: Need to see some testing data on this. Initial reports indicate the drink has a 30-60 second duration and a filling in the teens. Managing my Rancor Aid vs. Ruby Bliel intake will be of concern. I'm also curious why there's no skills within any of the Jedi skill trees, or any clothing enhancement tapes, that offer some kind of inate resistance to this. (Please correct me if I'm mistaken).
4. Cry more, Jedi.
Response: Shush, the adults are talking now.
5. Pull out your rifle when you get snared from 33-80m out.
Response: Good idea. Rumor has it, though, that a future publish will nerf ALL Jedi abilities if a non-lightsaber weapon is equipped. It would be nice to get confirmation from our Corro about this, as well as a projected timeline.
6. Cloak when you get snared from 33-80m out.
Response: Good idea. This fails if your opponent has a droid/pet following you, or if he has a neutral (non-TEF'd) friend on this bike following you.
Have I missed anything? Other posters have hinted at "other ways" this problem can be solved, but didn't shed any light on this solution(s). Care to educate us? I'll give ya' a cookie!

swg-addict : if you think that a ranged player will be able to keep range the whole time then maybe u should not be jedi... there will always be a way to adapt. terrain neg tapes etc.
captainwinkii : get your 80m bh and come for me..... then talk.
msnil : you can't read or what? it's in english adapt to take cloak if your worried otherwise don't blame soe for not keeping your power so that u don't have to have certain skills to offset someone elses...
the general populus : noone is gonna tell you how to make your character, most of these attacks on me i can easily answer but why should i have to explain the whole game to you? every skill has an offset figure it out ur dammed selves. use terrain neg CA's and the rifleman will be slower even when ur snared because of his heavy weapon mod.... use force wave to snare him, or suppression to root him.. then you should have no problem keeping the combat closed quarters ( providing you have any skill ) and the BH should last about half the time since his heals now cost him more..... geez.
please make another attack i love proving u ppl wrong
