SO TRUE!

But it did change, and they did unlock. So what does your post (being the 500th of it's kind, smuggla) do about this situation? Nothing. Just creates bad feelings between people playing a game. So do you feel big and clever and important for doing this? Or do you feel vindicated by your selfish little rant?

There would still be a lot more jedi around now than there was pre-pub 9.. it's called time. It's the same reason you now see a lot more jetpacks about. More have been made, people don't destroy them when they leave. The ONLY way that the jedi population would have been kept so rare and exclusive as you want is through perma-death. And I believe it was the pre9'ers who whined and got that removed?

Actually perma-death was removed because most jedi then were dying from game bugs and crashing issues that were beyond the players control.

Everyone needs to vent at some point. Maybe his is a bit late but he still has that right

I have 2 jedi. Yeah 2.

One i have unlocked prepub 9.....was hard to grind and hard to unlock...but really rewarding in the end!

I understand an appreciate the effort you put into your pre pub nine jedi, however just because it is more rewarding for you does that mean its less rewarding for me? No it doesn't, I am proud of my jedi and just because it didn't take me a year to finish (and I am still not done yet) doesn't make it less rewarding. I unlocked 3 weeks after CU and I am still not done yet because rather than grind non stop I am enjoying the game and learning to use the abilities I have.

The second i have unlocked 30 days ago and now i already have a FULL TEMP JEDI....so what remains of the jedi profession?

Its power? No not really...jedi are not that powerful believe me

Its coolness? Well, if you need to have a jedi in SWG to feel cool........you have some problems

Its exclusivity? No more......as you can see i grinded a full temp jedi in 30 days...chatting with 8/10 other jedi...smashing lairs without thinking.

So basically what you are saying in the statement above is that you didn't become jedi because you were a fan of them in the movies you did it because you wanted an "I win" button and now the devs have taken it away from you.

Where is the old good SOLO grind on Endor ?

Seriously what could have possibly been good about grinding solo on endor?

Where is thatunique feelinginspired by the fact that you were fighting in an hostile planet on your own?

What is so great about this feeling?

Where is that sense of risk that made the grind exciting?

Based on how much I here a lot of pre pub 9 jedi's complaining (not all I am not generalizing) it doesn't sound to me like this grind was exciting but on the contrary boring.

Where is the adrenaline given by a dot appearing on your radar?

I get that rush when I grind I don't want to lose xp anymore then you did back in your grind. Just because you lost more and it was harder to get back does not mean that we don't mind losing xp.

No more emotions in being jedi, no more passion.............no more moral reward.

Because back in the days creating a jedi and grinding it out till full was the proof of your victory against the game itself, now its a mere extra pg that requires no effort.

If this is the way that you feel about the game, then maybe you aren't enjoying it anymore....

Unlocking my second jedi gave me some emotion......then i realized how easy was to grind and how common was the process.......no more hiding, no more risk...no more EMOTIONS.

Did you ever think that maybe you had no emotion or feeling of excitement because it was your SECOND JEDI. Of course the second will not feel as special.

I hope SOE will nerf these spin groups so all of you new padawans can experience what being a Jedi really means.

This last statement is what really made me decide to post. I had the opportunity to unlock pre pub nine I was working on the holo grind like everyone else, then one day I decided that rather then spending the next 9 months finishing a jedi template why not enjoy the game and make that something to do when I start to lose interest. Jedi was supposed to be endgame for people but for a lot of pre pub 9 jedi (again not all) wanted to rush forward to get jedi so that they could press their I win button and dominate the server in pvp. Well you had your run and thats what you guys did. Now that time is over, like it or not the post cu jedi aren't going anywhere.

-Comparative appendix

Post CU

Full-template grinding time: 28 days in spin groups

Max EXP gained in one playing day (8hrs): 3.2 Millions (!!)

BH encountered: 0

Pre CU

Full-template grinding time: 3 months and a half

Max EXP gained in one playing day (8hrs): 950k

BH encountered: 7

I dont think this game will be the new KOTOR in the future.

I am not angry for that.

I am angry with the new system because it does not give the right "emotional" reward for being a jedi...

This type of post makes me furious just because you had a harder grind does not give you the right to try to change things for the rest of us. Rather then spending your time trying to make the proffession better with a well thought out post you decided that you have been treated unfairly because our grind is easier then yours. Last time I checked SOE DID NOT FORCE ANYONE TO BECOME JEDI AND GRIND FOR MONTHS!!!! That was your choice not mine.

One last thing, If I worked all my life and made millions of dollars would I look back at my life and think man I am so glad I worked my ass off for that money rather than winning the lottery....I wouldn't and I doubt you would either.

Umm no thats ok. My Ranger is rough and tumble one. My jedi wouldn't wear camo Hawtpants unless there made in blue and orange to match his skin

Your average post-cu Jedi complete their template in about 2 months.

There where cases back in the hologrind in which people unlocked Jedi in like 2 weeks... but thoose extreme cases often requires luck or external circumstances.

--- Cancelled 24th November 2006
Reason: The lack of multiplayer pve content and Star Wars feel.
For 3 years I have tried to find excuses to stay in game but only the expansions offered me what I subscribed for in the first place: A multiplayer Star Wars pve experience with friends around the globe. I found friends but with almost no addition of pve content they dropped out one by one. Now it's my turn.

well. its apparent that the newer jedi could care less about how long it took the older jedi. and it is sad. but, on the other hand, if the frs is pvp based again, these older jedi who the new dont care about will decimate them. Not all old jedi are masters and are legit knights (not fightclubbers) who are adept at pvp vs jedi. as we all know vs a bh is a whole different story.

On the other hand, old jedi bash new jedi because of how easy it is. and truth is, it IS easy. I got my jedi with relative ease post cu. And well, many new jedi arent standing for all the talk from old jedi. The frs will be an old vs new. I, however dont plan on falling too soo, because the old do have alot of knowledge of pvp and ive been steadily learning from them regardles of all this new jedi vs old jedi hate. Hell, i remember trying to post an encouragent to new jedi and someone trying to flame it.

Ah well

The thing to slow jedi development is to take out the saber spin and either use it at the completion of the 4 box or leave it at dervish. This will tremendously slow jedi progress, especially at dervish.

Now, what side am i on? Not sure, but im constantly learning from old jedi daily...
