you are comparing RL to a virtual world...LOL...I know how to get CSRs to resolve tickets fast...there are ways to do it...The CSRs should be patroling IN GAME...they used to do that then they stopped...

maybe you could share with the rest of the class your methods?

How on Earth is this the devs' fault? I blame the OP forallowing the harassmentto continue. You practically encouraged the guy to grief you by allowing him to continue.

Grinding is about efficiency. Raw, unadulterated, selfish, viciously executed efficiency. I would have thought someone who's reached Jedi would be a master grinder and understand these points. If this happens, /report and move elsewhere. Immediately. Is allowing him to follow you helping your grind, or would you get more xp by moving on? Do you stand and argue with a lair-stealer, or do you abort the mission and move to the next? If there's an NPC spawn next to your lair, will you get more xp bywasting time killing them with a rifle first, or aborting and moving on to the next mission a few hundred metres away? Which is more efficient? Which course of action will get you to full temp quicker? Additionally, which course of action is more likely to discourage the guy from doing it to someone else tomorrow?

pathetic...That's like blaming the victim of a purse snatching simply because she had a purse...

No. Read what I wrote. I blame him for allowing it to CONTINUE, not that it happened in the first place. If the victim of a purse snatching hangs around helplesslywaiting to get beat up again, then the victim is just as much to blame as the mugger when they do get beat up again.

In the OP's case, he allowed the griefer to continue to grief him for an hour, whereas once it became obvious he was being griefed he could have easily and effectively fixed the problem in 5 minutes and not seen the griefer again. That the OP allowed this person to continue is what is pathetic. Needlesslytaking the abuse like some kind of helpless babe-in-arms is what is pathetic.

I read what you wrote...and quite frankly they shouldn't have to move...these types of issues should be dealt with quickly by customer service...but unfortunately they are lacking in any kind of in game controls...

In a perfect world, no, they shouldn't have to, you're right. We don't live in a perfect world, and as a result we cannot create and/orplay in aperfect virtual world either. The reality is that CSR's will get to it when they are able, until then it behooves you to help yourself, not just stand there helplessly. Like the police in RL, they often have other priorities or concerns they need to deal with first. What kind of Big Brother"controls" do you think they should have or exercise? What kind of world do you want where it's always someone else's job to stop what you could avoid?

You started the comparison with your purse snatcher analogy, if you remember. We must think of our virtual worlds in the context of our real world... they are the products of human imagination and intellect, whichareofthemselves products of the real world.

I'd be curious as to your methodology to get CSR's to resolve tickets fast, because to my mind it sounds suspiciously like an exploit or utilization ofhalf-truths. A lie of omission is still a lie (not that I am accusing anybody of anything as I do not know your method). It's people who have "methods" of getting their low-priority issues addressed fast that delay CSR's from dealing quickly with larger more pressingissues.

I would rather have the CSR's right where they are, monitoring incoming tickets and inserting themselves into the world as required in the appropriate places, rather than driving across Dantooine in the vain hopes of catching someone at some wrongdoing. If only RL police had the ability and immediacy in thereal worldthat the CSR's do in the virtual world. Besides, how do you know they do not? Last I checked there were no speeders with blue and red flashing lights on top and a big "SOE" logo on the side.

catassery and buttmonkeyism. We must be cautious.

Who said they couldn't help? Of course they can help. But they are CSR's, not babysitters.

Ok the word:

It is griefing or harassment if something is said that proves what they are doing. Use /report to do that and feel free to file a ticket to get a CSR to help. /report is considered proof enough for a CSR to act.It is suggested that if this occurs that you use group chat and decide on another grind location to avoid the encounter though.

thanks for the quick turnaround...its a shame that we have people like that who feel they need to ruin other peoples enjoyment of the game just to be an arse...

It might be a good idea to post this in the BH forum as well. That way they would have no excuse to do this. But I have a question for you Baciacca: What if the BH has a mission on the Jedi and is just observing them or waiting to pounce (i.e., waiting for low health, low force or just aggro'ed 20 pikets), even though there maybe other Jedi in the same group. Would the other Jedi have reason to /report the BH even though he isn't hunting them? Now that the BH missions have a 3 day timer, we can't stalk out of view 1k+ for a week for the perfect moment. We are hurried to completed (or fail) the mission or just abort it. So a BH may take to visually stalking in anticipation of the right moment.

there would need to be some spatial verbal evidence in order for action to be taken...that was the key that I read...

utech, interesting answer....learn to manage vis....you are such a jerk with your answers...how do u manage people coming and camping your groups? You are doing your part going to the far corners of the universe, finding remote cities, grouping properly, and watching overhead maps. These people are managing their vis....its greifers like you promote that are doing it as a harrasment. They have no business out there except to give jedi who are doing what they are supposed to do visibility. if you are a jedi, then you are the lowest form of jedi, a full template or above who doesnt care about your fellow jedi. you are a sad excuse if this is the case.

for those of u saying about the /report command to report harrasment....it wont work unless the bh actually says something....all he has to do is stand there, he doesnt have to say a word at all. a log cant be created if there is nothing to fill it with....most griefers know this and wont do anything at all that shows they are there. the best thing is for one to go offline, or get on a second computer, go to the main sign in screen and go to a chat room where csr's are live. then tell them to come into the game. If you are lucky they will. last time this happened they kept saying make a ticket, they never go it through their heads that you cant make one if the bh doesnt type anything at all.

No offense and I'm not flaming you but, this is the wrong attitude to have. No player should have the ability to ruin anothers game experience.
