Thread: Jedi Viz campers Baciacca whats the deal on this?
IMHO, the best way to fix this (if so desired) is to change viz to combatant only - that way campers would be just as threatened as the Jedi are.
This of course would make the GCW either jump forward or stall out - Who wants to get viz?
This would also give the Jedi an option to avoid viz thru direct action ala Han and Chewy when they attacked that probe on Hoth (Empire Strikes Back).
I have experinced it before. The deal is so what. They grief we have to move on. There are many ways to get your grind going. Let the fools waste time. Put your flashlight away and hit an SP. Use your chat channel to regroup, and make your toon unsearchable. Use what the tools the game has given you. Had that very thing happen to me and a friend while hunting krayt. I dragged a canyon krayt at him and blew his barc. Works for me.

pathetic...That's like blaming the victim of a purse snatching simply because she had a purse...

How on Earth is this the devs' fault? I blame the OP forallowing the harassmentto continue. You practically encouraged the guy to grief you by allowing him to continue.
Grinding is about efficiency. Raw, unadulterated, selfish, viciously executed efficiency. I would have thought someone who's reached Jedi would be a master grinder and understand these points. If this happens, /report and move elsewhere. Immediately. Is allowing him to follow you helping your grind, or would you get more xp by moving on? Do you stand and argue with a lair-stealer, or do you abort the mission and move to the next? If there's an NPC spawn next to your lair, will you get more xp bywasting time killing them with a rifle first, or aborting and moving on to the next mission a few hundred metres away? Which is more efficient? Which course of action will get you to full temp quicker? Additionally, which course of action is more likely to discourage the guy from doing it to someone else tomorrow?
This is why the BH system never WILL work, nor has it ever worked well to begin with.
They always needed a punishment for Jedi exposing themselves and it should be relative to the players combat level.
If he exposes himself, Vader sends in an assistant to dispatch the Jedi and then you have to fight them, some NPC that could actually take care of you, not talking about a level 15 stormie.
But Canon does allow for Vader to have assistants and this makes WAY more sense than the Emporer employing bounty hunters, and with the system the way it is now, players are the last people you want.
Look, they've had the BH system for two years now, it hasn't kept the population down, cause people can still make jedi without any threat from them.
You want to punish Jedi, start a better system of making NPCs actually hunt the Jedi down.

seph....go back to your hole. your pompous attitude sucks.
go to dictionary.com find out what pompous means. Plus i mean no harm, im jsut tired of all the crying that goes on and figure someone has to say something to all you carebears crying. Jedi before your time had it MUCH MUCH harder and besides posts like this are seriously crying because they dont know how to be Jedi. Anyway dont hate me cause I <3 you.
ok, heres one from dictionary.com that i think sums up your posts on this matter sephoroth:
"pseudo-scientific gobbledygook and pontifical hooey"
its not so much pseudo-scientific, but certainly pontifical hooey. ![]()
Area Disruption is defined as any activity, intentional or unintentional, which harms or inconveniences a larger number of players. Causing a disruption may result in disciplinary action being taken against the account that may include official warnings, account suspensions, or account terminations depending on the severity of the incident which will be determined by a CSR and a CSR Supervisor. Multiple suspensions or account termination will result in the termination of all SOE game accounts
Disruption includes, but is not limited to, such things such as:
- Deliberately blocking a doorway or narrow area so other players cannot get past.
Making excessive and inappropriate use of spatial communications, i.e. spamming.
- Placing any object (such as pets, droids, structures, city facilities) which prevent access to game content (anything in the game, including city structures, houses, caves, mission terminals, etc.) or trap other customers.
- Using graphics intensive weaponry to duel in high traffic areas*
- Organizing, holding, or participating in protests held in high traffic areas (such as busy Starports or other areas where many players normally gather).
These are copied off the SWG Terms of Service page and Policy and Community Standards. Not saying anything I'm just saying that INTENTIONALLY watching a group, not driving by on the way to a mission, clearly falls into the guidelines they set forth. For the people saying the day you are able to report someone for watching you is going to be a bad day? I have seen personally people get suspended and banned for sending tells to someone over and over. Why? That person could of used ignore and fixed the problem but the person who caused the problem still can get in trouble? Watching and following a group for the sole purpose to cause vis is harassment. This has nothing to do with a BH coming by, this is simply a person who doesn't like Jedi and wants to purposefully harm them in their own way.

I read what you wrote...and quite frankly they shouldn't have to move...these types of issues should be dealt with quickly by customer service...but unfortunately they are lacking in any kind of in game controls...

No. Read what I wrote. I blame him for allowing it to CONTINUE, not that it happened in the first place. If the victim of a purse snatching hangs around helplesslywaiting to get beat up again, then the victim is just as much to blame as the mugger when they do get beat up again.
In the OP's case, he allowed the griefer to continue to grief him for an hour, whereas once it became obvious he was being griefed he could have easily and effectively fixed the problem in 5 minutes and not seen the griefer again. That the OP allowed this person to continue is what is pathetic. Needlesslytaking the abuse like some kind of helpless babe-in-arms is what is pathetic.
In a perfect world, no, they shouldn't have to, you're right. We don't live in a perfect world, and as a result we cannot create and/orplay in aperfect virtual world either. The reality is that CSR's will get to it when they are able, until then it behooves you to help yourself, not just stand there helplessly. Like the police in RL, they often have other priorities or concerns they need to deal with first. What kind of Big Brother"controls" do you think they should have or exercise? What kind of world do you want where it's always someone else's job to stop what you could avoid?

you are comparing RL to a virtual world...LOL...I know how to get CSRs to resolve tickets fast...there are ways to do it...The CSRs should be patroling IN GAME...they used to do that then they stopped...
