Thread: The Secret to eliminating BH from your life ( it's not staying off the terms either)
All the Mdefs can try what I did last week...
I was standing just behind my own city's shuttleport talking to a few guildies, and we notice and Buffed and Fully fed Ithorian get off the shuttle.
I flicked my Aura - valor - infusion macro on and carried on chatting to my guildies, as he ran over and opened fire on me I simply /sigh at him and carry on chatting to my guildmates - In fact every single one of then completely ignored him.
After about 15 mins of shooting me and flinging Poo at me he gave up, shuttled out and sent me a /tell that simply said "Lame"
I didnt send a tall back, tho it was tempting.
I dont do it to deliberately undermine the BH, its just that I am fed up with them interupting my gameplay.
I have a lot of time to waste in SWG now with nothing really left to do, so if they are going to come for me, they will have to wait till i have finished talking or doing what im doing.
I understand that there are BH out there that could really take advantage of me while im doing this, but luckily for me thats only about 3% of the BH's out there.

naaah i disagree...i like hunting bounty hunters...great for combat rating...plus where is the fun in running...i admit i kinda do it sometimes just for the fun of it...but hey gotta milk it while it lasts...cause they usually go down to fast to have any real fun..i enjoy a good fight......but if my template wasn't done i'dstay and fight if i know i can win..if i can't..i root and run...
lol i love all the MLS MDEF people that say bh never last more then 5 minutes against them. I have fought many and lost to very few. You guys must be fighting bh that don't really konw what they are doing.
Hmm, really a noob?, ok kiddie. As a MLS, MDef a BH cannot last 5 minutes therefore They avoid me now as a most part. This Root and cloak run leads into nerfing, so kiddie please continue.
As a Bh/CM you are not at a house or a safe spot 24/7. Futhermore using water or any structure to avoid combat could be consider as an exploit.

Maybe the ones you beat don't know what they are doing?

If you kill them once, they will always come back.
Evade them at all cost bycloak, force run, log in water/house etc.....
They won't waste thier time on you again.
True story.
P.S. Make sure to sit AFK in your house on occasion too, that will really get your name crossed out of thier book.
I hope this has been said before... but you realize we can't see your name when we pick your mission, right?
He have to grab the misson, speak to the informant, leave the city, send the arakyd, come back, wait, go to the planet, send the seeker, and MAYBE it'll give us your name. If it doesn't (which is about 75% of the time), then we have to track you down with more droids.
Usually after that much bother, we'll stick it out, even if you have a history of fleeing. Better to at least make an attempt; never know, you might be afk, you might be distracted by the pet cat, you might be low on force/health and we'll get the DB in before you have the chance to react. If you get away (and you probably will) we won't have any way to prevent taking your bounty again in the future... and we probably will.
Don't get me wrong, I used to avoid cloaker bounties like the plague before, but now with anon missions there's really no way to prevent it.

When someone does this, he goes on my f-list if he already is not there, and I hold the mission as long as necessary to catch him out of the house in the next 3 days before the mission decays (or someone else gets him). I know plenty of other BHs that do the same. Yes, I know that means I do not do any other BH missions, but that's when I work on Pilot skills, Kashyyk quests etc. until I see him log in and then the hunt begins anew.
and for those 3 days that you come check everytime i log in to sit in my house, you are not ruining gameplay for a noob jedi somewhere. my mission is acomplished.
the best way to win is not to fight.

Nice to see that the BH correspondent uses exploits. Oh wait! You say "using the friends list to know when they come online after you've already identified them is not an exploit!" And if you're not talking about the friends list when you say "see him log in", what other magical BH mechanism do you have to see him log in? Using the occasional probe droid periodically to check if the Jedi is logged in is not how I took that statement.
If the definition of exploit is: "using an in-game mechanic, in an unintended manner, to gain an advantage you otherwise wouldn't have," then using the friends list in the manner described is an exploit. Just as a Jedi using the /duel command to check if a BH has their mission is an exploit, under that definition.
A BH with my mission is not my friend. I don't belong on their "friends list".
/dump
It's not an exploit. Having you on the friends list only tells a BH when you go online. It doesn't tell him where you are or give any advantage at all. The only way he can actually find you using his friends list is if he's on yours. We can find the same information by trying to launch a probe droid or seeker. We don't even use up the probe if the target is offline.
I know exactly what the friends list does, but thanks for the re-education.
But oh no! Using the friends list like that isn't an exploit, goodness noooo!. BH's would never use an exploit, would they? Of course not! But, oh goodness, yes! A Jedi using the /duel command is an exploit, no question! After all, only Jedi players use exploits, right?
Uh huh. (And, in case it wasn't readily apparent:yes, that was sarcasm.)
Knowing I am online or not, without using a probe droid, IS an advantage. It may be a small advantage, but it's still an advantage. I don't carewhether or notyou use up a droid if I'm offline. The fact is, you should've had to at least try using one to check my online/offline status. Otherwise, you can be off doing something fun, like be in space, or down in a cave, diddling a dancer, etc. etc., and not have to worry about having to launch a droid. And then, ta da! Thesystem tells you I've just come online, with no effort on your part. Then you break out the probe droid.
Either both of these things are exploits, or neither is. There is no grey area on this.
If that's an exploit then being able to log out when someone has your mission is a bug.

I recommend that to every jedi that have a fragile ego and can't have fun in a online game. If dying to a BH will make you cry, punch your keyboard, be angry at your family, make you want to call your lawyer... and you can't avoid playing a jedi because you like some attention anyway, then this post is the best recommendation.

Bh will know who you are eventually... If you sit in your house and AFK 24/7 when you are not playing, you will be put on a lot of their "do not bother lists"..There are few determined types, but most are not willing to waste hours of their game time on you.
Tank needs to push rewards for Jedi, or BH will get nothing but frustration from a lot of Jedi.
