BH's are just practice now

i dont really agree with that. fighting bhs will give you practice for fighting bhs. fighting jedi is totally different. so i doubt youll learn a lot about fighting jedi from fighting bhs.

They won't waste thier time on you again.

True story.

P.S. Make sure to sit AFK in your house on occasion too, that will really get your name crossed out of thier book.

yes this definatly works, this post was obviously going to get flamed but if u dont want to fight them then its upto u. i have always fought bh's and the only reason i still log into this game is for pvp but most bh fights are just very long boring fights which have no benifit to me and if i lose i get to spend the next night of my game time regrinding?? screw that!!!

i havent fought any for a long time now and they normally only stay for 15 mins then get bored. If they start shouting at u then u know u have got to them and that normally makes it worthwhile in its self.I dont understand why they think that calling u a noob or whatever will make u come out and fight when its only making them happy if u do, if someone is polite and doesnt flame then there is a hell of a lot more chance of me fighting than with insults.

There is nothing they can doeither, the days of them saying ill put u on my list.etc are long gone and its just funny when they say that now.if they get your mission they will come after u no matter what when they find out your name and u have wasted there time every time they have come for u then they just stop bothering. I was a bh and i know its annoying getting there and the jedi not fighting but having to regrind is a lot worse, if it was just money i lost id fight every time and the statment of them keeping the jedi population down was true before the cu but not any more.jedi has changed and bh has not been ajusted to match.

BTW-the galactic civil war is your friend. there is no reason for u not to go round constantly combatent when you can enter bases in a bh fight when u cant get in houses because of tefs. just know where the bases are where u grind or just type /find rebel (or imp).

I think it's crazy to deny yourself one of the best parts of the game.

To avoid BH's or fighting sort of makes me wonder why you would grind all that time to a finished template, then not want to use it.

I've battled a few guys since finishing template, can't say I've gotten a rush like that in a game before.

Nothing beats fighting with something on the line, even if the other guy has nothing to lose.

I do not see any reason for a Jedi to fight a Bounty Hunter at this time. There is absolutely no benefit to the Jedi. Some say it will help you when the FRS comes back. I ask you in what way is learning how to kill Bounty Hunters the same as learning how to kill Jedi. Once you know your template and foods too use there is no reason to fight at this moment. Spend your time dueling with other Jedi and how to conserve your force bar and run from Bounty Hunters. I have only had 2 Bh fights since becoming a Jedi and I will try to keep it that way. I see a dot not in my group I lead them on a marry chase. Several planets later I log for the night and get on my alt. I do not have to engage eventhough BHs think we are mandated to fight them. I say no we are mandated to be hunted it is still our right to fight or not to fight.

It's not hard to sit in your house and do absolutely nothing involving Jedi skills or abilities. No visibility there. That's exactly why I've done what I've done to develop a Jedicharacter. Uh huh, you bet!

The fact is: there's very little, if any, ground-based questing in this game you can do and not gain visibility. You can't PvP with a non-grouped player and not gain visiblity, including a fight withthe thrice-be-damnedBH that has your mission. And it's certainly very difficult to grind in some areas of the game without gaining visibility from NPCs spawning near your lair, right in the middle ofbashing the critters.

So, sure, it's easy to grind solo being very careful about visibility. But there are other aspects to this game that I would like to experience with my Jedi toon than grinding frakkin XP.

Sorry for sounding snippy, but every time someone spits out that tired, old "stay off the terms" chestnut, I could just gag.

Isn't that the way jedi always was though? It is completely possible to grind in a group and never have a bh. It's probably not a good idea to grind out of the MO if you want to stay off the terms, but it's still very possible. Secondly, if you want to do quests and such either get a strong enough jedi to fight for themselves, or play your alt. That is EXACTLY why they give you a second character slot.

What in bloody hell was the point of developing a Jedi character? To always and forever do only PvP? I understand that for some that may be an appealing factor, and that for many others doing constant PvP isn't even a matter of choice. But I developed a Jedi character in the hope that by the time I was done, I would've 1) already seen and done a lot with that toon, 2) there'd be Jedi-specific content for me to play only available with a Jedi character. I've been disappointed all around by the what we've ended up with.

And, for goddess's sake, no way would I grind Jedi out of an NPC starport or city . That's not only foolish, but arguably insane. But even in the wilds of Dantooine or Tatooine (my main grinding planets, forthe BH's in the audience ), you can still have random NPC spawns all over the area, on every single mission. It happens a lot. And then there's the occasional egg drop of STs by a Lambda shuttle right next to the lair (happens to me at least once a grind session; I wonder if I did something to tick the devs off? ). Sure, I could go grind solo, but I choose not to spend the next 2 years of play time grinding Jedi.

Besides which: I don't really give a flying womp rat's hairy bottom about visibility anymore. The simple fact is: I've made the choice to grind in groups, and with many visibility factors either unknown, or out of my direct control, I choose not to care about it. In fact, I'm usually one of the ones in the NPC gank squad in our grind group that goes around killing the NPCs for the other Jedi in the group more concerned with visiblity. So, I'm without a doubt on the terms. BH's happen.

And, FWIW,I earned a second character slot because the old system had the Jedi toon be separatefrom the main characterso the player could still play in the event their Jedi got perma-killed; the only reason they allowed it after the Publish 10 was out of "fairness" to the rest of the player base. If the purpose of having a second character slot is that now I get to park my Jedi toon in a house, forever, and play that second slot character instead, then this game is more messed up"than I could possibly imagine."

word to that. Couldnt have said it better myself. And it didnt take me no 2 weeks to unlock my jedi. I started back during the holo grind. Stopped and waited for publish 9 and a year and a half later i finally unlocked a month ago. I know you can say it im the slowest grinder ever. But now that i have my jedi toon, which im really proud of as it is fulfilling my child hood dream of becoming a jedi, i really dont just want to park it and never play it any more. Now i want to start playing the game and taking part of the content as limited as it is currently. Problem is that i have to grind for another 6 months just to be full temp so that i dont have to worry about vis so much. Ill be the first to admit that i really suck at pvp, though im really trying to learn how to do it especially since the FRS is all about pvp and the constant threat of bounty hunters. And since currently i suck so bad at it..there is no way im sticking around to let a bh kill me so that i have negative xp. I want to move forward in my template not back ward. I see them im running like a dog with its tail set firmly between my leggs. I have no shame in it. As yoda says a jedi uses the force only for defense never for attack. Ill use the force to get away and avoid the situation if i can. There is no reason for me to stick around nor should there ever be.

Too often players and the devs have a mindset that professions should be balanced with 1 on 1 pvp in mind. This mindset is ruining the game. The benchmark for balance should be determined by the role a profession plays in a group setting. As long as the current mindset continues we will never see uniqueness among the professions, nor will we ever see individuality within a given profession. We will never see the SWG universe expanded as the focus will only ever be balance pass after balance pass after balance pass.

If i have never had the said BH who attacks I'll try him....maybe he sucks...and is an easy kill

If the good BH come for me and they have killed me once in the past I just run..

I've told BH who I refuse to fight that i will not fight them so they may as well drop the mission when they learn it's me

I recently had one of them try while i was PvPing in Theed, I just root ran and cloaked....as soon as he saw me cloak he just stopped running and walked away..

He'll figure out that's what i'll do everytime and stop trying.

Oh man ive been full template for a very long time. over a year I think.

Lately, I just get bored of killing BHs. No benefit to me. So, like I do all the time now, Stasis/FR3.

Stasis, lick, snog, KD, root, poke, meditate, stasis, FR3 in circles, dance, KD, stasis, lol, root, swimming, houses.

I can do it for at least an hour before I get bored and shuttle somewhere to make them waste droids. Then leave planet. Rinse and repeat when they show up again. Then afk in a house for dinner

Oh, and Ive been a BH on my main for over two years now. I would hate if someone did it to me, but that doesnt matter, I find it's the only fun thing to do on my Jedi toon nowadays. Other than that Jedi has gotten boring for me.

I've been doing the same thing when I come online (not much lately though)

But I just use JTL to pop around the galaxy - since I was a MBH in a former life, I know about the time it takes to send out the droids.

Funny thing is when they start to zone into the starport, I take off right then ---> to bad the tef doesn't stick on that long - could of gotten alot of load kills.

TRUE STORY,

so im on Tempest Server and grinding with a bunch friends and shooting the **Mod Bot - Be Nice** on ventrilo.

when a BH came for me, at first i tried to fight him but he had one of those sets of sliced RIS armor, and my 511 max dmg saber wasnt tickling him so i cloaked, the group continiued to grind, at the next lair they kept grinding as ususal even though the BH was following me while i was cloaked. so they started spinning, i ran in with improved force run on and just started spinning the lair with them, he shot me the whole time we were spinning and we just ignored him, he kept shooting nonstop knocking me down w/e, i had no aggro cause of improved force run and my group was strong so we slaughtered the lair. after that lair was done i cloaked channeled regened, next lair we started all over again, he kept shooting me and we all just ignored him, it felt so great make him feel so worthless, he followed me for about 5 lairs then he just left, he came back once again, tried to surprise me but i kept grinding, then left again. ultimatly he did kill me because i crashed trying to hop into my friends AV-21 and he somehow came for me right when i LD'd, all my friends on ventrilo were saying he was killing me LD, then he bragged about it, oh well no biggie, honestly i may have lost xp, but i think i still beat the BH =)

true story, baciacca / guaarrwatched the whole thing, hes my witness, we were ROLF LOL LMAO all over ventrilo it was hilarious

This NOT true. And i'll tell you why. Just the other day, i come up on a target. He is a full temp who was in the process of dropping skills for other ones. ( know through tells to him later). So i come up to him and do my typical hunting thing. I think i 1st saw him in a group grinding. But by the time i rolled up to his group he was cloaked. So i pretended i wansn't htere for him and for his friends. They all buffed up, it was fun messing with them But he sends me a tell that i wont get him. So i have a cloaker on my hands here.

Ok, so i leave and come back later, i run into him grinding again and i start going at it. He gets away after a few seconds of fighting though and cloaks. No disrespect, i had fun /telling him etc. I told him i'll get him

Day 2: I come on in the morning shutle to him and he is coming RIGHT at me as i get off the shuttle, i attack we fight briefly again but i get snared and he cloaks and runs away again, and proceeds to tell me that i scared the $hit out of him HAHAHAHAH i love that

I come back a few hours later and is grinding again and he cloaks and gets away AGAIN!!!!! I am DETERMINED now to get this guy. I told myself that i am NOT stopping until i kill this cloaker. I follow him around with my droids while he is cloaked. He runs out of force, uncloaks, i attack him again!!! he gets away and cloaks...AGAIN!!!! Grrrrrrr....

I come back 30min later when he is grinding again and i had to change my WHOLE damn attack style because i was terrified of him cloaking on me again. After 20min of fighting (i think he was going for Mpowers while grinding) i paralized him and snared him and KDed him non stop and I FINALLY got him. He cloaked but my shot got off before he fully cloaked and it uncloaked him (man was that lucky) and i kded and killed him.

It was the BEST fight i have ever had against a jedi. Not because he was easy or hard. Just because it was the most rewarding, satisfying, and fun mark i have ever taken. He was a great sport and I got my $224k for the mission. So he was almost back up to full temp. /bow2 to that jedi, great fun.

But it just goes to show u that hiding isn't always going to make a mark go away. I personally (even though i dont typically stalk jedi for days) was DETERMINED to kill this cloaker one way or another. I used every tactic i had and I finally got him.
