Actually thats not true. Every jedi pretty much learns the same ability, besides this serperation of dirrferent jedi disiplines is stupid. Every jedi pretty much gets the same type of temp and then coems the worst part. You get a temp you like but alas, you had to get a skill you didnt want just because without youd suck in pvp. you had to get that skill and leave behind one you liked. Just implement the old skill tree, give us back our old titles, let us make our own robes, make premium and flawless pearls drop again.

Be careful... remember when Tiggs and Thunderheart acknowledged the pearl drop problem with premium / flawless? Look what came out of that one. *Can't fix it.. so you screw you guys

Not every Jedi has an ADK, and the FACT that the item happens to exist does NOT excuse the fact that without a specialty item sabers decay, not to mention the fact that crystals/pearls CANNOT be repaired, unlike every other weapon in this game.

Message Edited by Namen_Xenomi on 07-09-2005 06:39 PM

Funny, took me 1 year 3 months to unlock...and I have 3 ADK's. Considering it takes nearly 6 months to just unlock all the quests in the village, your half way there.

But I forgot Crystals and pearls are **SO** hard to get in this game. I have 4 large house full want some.

if you hadn't noticed, nothing in the game drops premiums anymore. Nothing. NOTHING AT ALL. So to all the new jedi who werent precu, they are screwed.

You know, I hope they don't keep powers "Darkside". Even though RP /Storywise it is "considered" a darkside template, not everyone wants to wield a stupid glow stick...regardless what role they play in for the GCW. Powers should not be limited to only "Imperials / Darkside" jedi.

I TOTALLY disagree. In all the history of star wars and the jedi, force lightning, choke and several other "POWERS" have always been a dark side ability. If you want em, you should have to be dark side. It doesn't sit well to have a light (rebel) jedi have choke or throw or lightning, since these were supposed to draw from anger, not peace.

Come on Sith's, back me up here...

This is what I don't understand. Why is the only set of powers that could be used as a way for a Jedi to do damage\perform a role in combat without a saber be limited to the darkside? Are you saying that only dark side jedi should be able to have a viable combat template that does not use any saber? This doesn't seem fair.

First off, there's more roles to play than Damage Dealer.

Second, any Jedi regardless of which "side" you are can have a viable combat template that does not use any saber and pick up powers.

Third, Powers in SWG have always been "dark side" powers in... well.... everything SW related.

It's not. This is the very reason why they made Powers available to every faction.

Without a full revamp I think the following would address many of the MPowers concerns:

1- They need to remove the zip lines .. this is a ranged/movement required profession that rarely has defense and uses terrain to their advantage. Increase the cooldowns to compensate.

2- Seperate the Single Target and Area specials. Make the Area 32m and the Single 48m or 64m .. this will do two things. It will help counter the MLS Saberthrow (KD, high damage in one shot for less FC then Powers) and deal with the difficulty of MP Area Argro.

3- Fix Breach to hit every time with a 20% initial chance to remove > all <buffs, and a 40% chance (should initial check fail) to remove each buff of the opponent (all types of buffs). The only buff it would not remove is AI.

4- Fix Weaken to beArmor Break.

5- Fix Choke/Lightning and the current armor issues. Change these to have low Min/Max delta to bypass the defense issues, and ensure they pass through armor correctly. A split in damage type between base and elemental would be nice as well.

Just my take .. I think these would deal with the vast different of DPS and benifit of ST from a MLS and help give a chance to MP against a MDef.

Five fairly simple changes that would greatly improve the viablity of MPowers .... A damage/fc/ac pass can be done AFTER these are fixed to ensure everything is in line.

1. And yet it seems fair to suggest that only dark jedi can have non-saber powers that do damage? Again...this doesn't seem fair.

2. You are right, but I was responding to the Jedi Correspondant (our voice to the devs) who stated that the powers skill boxesshould be limited to darkside jedi.

3. No no no. SOME of the powers assigned to the powers skill set are considered dark side powers. Just because itscalled "Powers" and some of the abilities they threw in there (choke\lightning specifically) does not mean the whole thing should be limited to dark jedi. This makes no sense.

Why not keep the powers skill trees the way they are, but make the powers you get from a skill box dependant on whether you are a light or dark jedi?

Your refering to FRS .. lets not get into that debate until we know what will arrive. Focus on Powers as it relates to gameplay now ... MP vs MLS .. MP vs PVP .. MP vs PVE .. nothing else matters atm.

For the record, how do you know the jedi cant do all of those abilities? Have they said "Oh I cant do this" No you only say what you have seen. All jedi have the potientail of learning the same ability. There are onlythree differenece. THREE. Either the jedi is Good with a lightsaber. The jedi has a nack for using the force. Or the jedi is an all round even jedi.

actually he was right Corran Horn, infact his entire bloodline (most noteably his son) could not use Telekenesis, but he was a dab hand with his glowstick, just as good, if not better than Skywalker and Mara Jade
